PS4 controller compatibility with PC

The game should have controller support no matter where you purchase it. I say should because they don't actually tell you that this is the case. This is part of the reason I am hesitant on buying it elsewhere, other than Steam. I think you will be fine though. If I find any information on it, I will let you know.

Going to have to agree with this based on what I have read myself as well as seen in similar games. The control system is there so it would be kind of stupid if they didn't allow controllers to work.

You will be able to use whatever controller your computer supports. If you want a PS controller though, you may need additional software to run it on your computer, that all depends. There are some Sony licensed PC controllers out there though which might be worth investing in.

That is a good point. I tried using one of them generic PS controllers for a few games in the past and I couldn't get them to work. I also tried connecting a newer PS one using one of them sync things and it just didn't function right. Never had an issue with Xbox controller though.

If a game that is also out on the ps4 console will probably work fine with the usb charger cable attached to the controller. You have to start the controller without starting the ps4. I had no need to install anything using the ps4 controller on pc with assassins creed origins and are thinking the same for rdr2.

When I used a PS4 controller on my Windows PC for gaming, I had to use this additional free software called DS4 for it to work. At the time, it did not have rumble support. Otherwise it worked pretty similar to an XBOX controller.

Here is a video guide.

I ended up getting an XBOX controller to use instead. For it was confusing to me to  have the game tell me to hit A/B/X/Y referencing XBOX controller, when my PS4 Controller is Squard/Circle/Triangle/X. Also at the time, I really wanted that rumble support. This was a few years back.

This is what I use and it works great but like you mentioned, no vibration is supported. I tried working around this and I couldn't figure it out. I ended up buying an Xbox One controller that is wired for when I want it. I still prefer the PS controller though.
