RDO Poker - Who else hates those constant Max betters?

Jinn_James

Question

One of my favorite activities in Red Dead online is playing poker. And I can't stand those players I do nothing but Max bet immediately after the cards are dealt. It completely  throws the whole hand to nothing but chance. But poker is a game of skill and strategy. Those Max betters just don't know how to play. I wish there was some kind of rule or something that limits you only able to Max bet on your first bet so many times in a row. And get booted from the  table  as a punishment.

Anybody else agree with any of that?

No... Although those players are annoying placing a system like that into the game waters down your options when betting (there are times it’s beneficial to put the max bet in on the deal and knock out the competition/raise the pot value on your good deal). Really, it’s just the flaw you have in a limit poker table, especially computerized poker with nothing of any real value on the line.... RDR Poker will just never be a serious poker game the way it is.

Absolutely - we need "high buy in - no limit" tables, even if only at e.g. St Denis.

As it is, I've given up on the poker for now.

$1,000 buy in, no limit would give the high rollers somewhere to go, and make it interesting again, while leaving the low stakes tables for those who want them and will play in that spirit.

Personally, I love what they did with GTAO's gambling.  Obviously, they can't add the same kind of casino but I think they could do a lot more to kick up the vibe and game selection.

.....although I could see a much more fancy gambling hall being available in a city like Saint Denis.

I'd like a 'Gambler role' where the player competes against other players in a high stakes poker game, where it is in brackets and stuff, so the best play the best. For the weekly update, it could rotate location and type of poker being played. Combine everyone's idea into an entire role. Also maybe other types of gambling, like blackjack and stuff in story.

River boat gambling anyone?

Pretty much the last few posts describe the plot of Maverick.

How about a medium-high stakes tournament where you can win a ticket to a very high stakes game on a riverboat?
