I was really meaning the online platform .... again I was only speculating given the timing

So am I.

Months ago in a Sony Corp strategy meeting they had said that backward compatibility will include multiplayer.  Essentially, PS4 games will be cross-platform with PS5.  .....including their online modes.  So basically, if you have a PS5, the plan is that you'll still be able to play your PS4 titles and enjoy the them with your friends who still have the previous gen platform.

Quote

"Backwards compatibility, in a networked era, becomes something that is incredibly powerful," PlayStation boss Jim Ryan explained. "Because the gaming community is somewhat tribal in its nature, backwards compatibility gives us the opportunity to migrate that community from PlayStation 4 to next gen using the ability to play the PS4 games they have on their next generation console - groups of 10, 20, 50 gamers. So we see this, given the size of the community that we've been able to accumulate over all these years and hard work on PlayStation 4 as a really critical success factor for us. We think it's incredibly important."

Deputy president John Kodera added that this will help Sony bridge engaged players from one generation to the next: "Cross-generation the community can enjoy the games together." Generational gaps are a common place for players to change platforms or get out of gaming entirely; if PS5 avoids that gap by letting friends play together across generations, I'd imagine people will be more likely to stick with PlayStation.

Of course, nothing is set in stone yet but with competition as fierce as it is right now, my money is on Sony and MS doing everything they can to make their new systems more attractive to buyers and in Sony's case, that has a lot to do with how PS4 players see PS5 and how they might interact with it with friends and consider upgrading.  I'm sure they see this backward compatibility and cross-system play as a great way to keep friends / communities together, get them talking about the PS5 and encourage those still on the fence to take the plunge too.

In R*s position, they may not want to introduce a "new for PS5" RDR2 at least in the immediate future.  If anything, they may want to wait until enough people migrate from PS4 to PS5 but even then I doubt they will make a remaster in the foreseeable future.  I think their focus will be on the community.  .....both PS4 and PS5 and will prioritize keeping that afloat in the form of the current build.

Besides, I have a feeling R* has other things on the burner right now like GTA6, the next Bully, etc. that will be slated for release on PS5.

I think a lot of what they give us in terms of accessories and items have been better than I would have originally expected of them.

That being said, it doesn't fix problems. If anything, new items = new problems. If they fix stuff like adding stuff, the stuff they added has a chance to glitch or just break. I am no dev and no gaming expert but it seems counter productive to add new things to a game that is still broken.

Yes it could be worse for sure, agree with you there ; with that said - it just gets frustrating and this is a good platform for venting a bit with other gamers ... it’s therapeutic to me to know I’m not the only one, lol .

I get that. Not shaming people for getting pissed or anything. I fully understand sharing complaints and being frustrated. This game should have never had this many issues and I think they know it.

I hope, they get it back on track asap. Otherwise only new players occupies the landscape.
