Dead Eye David Posted April 1, 2024 Posted April 1, 2024 The forums seem pretty inactive, nobody seems to post nor respond much.
Kean_1 Posted April 1, 2024 Posted April 1, 2024 I think the lack of meaningful updates had an impact and then certainly R*'s announcement of stopping all new developmental updates of the game. As someone who had started laying since RDR2's release and then RDO when it was made available, it started getting old after a while. There was a lot of potential but simply not the extent of support GTAV has had which in fact I still get back into from time to time. Still an epic game and worth every penny IMO. I'd expect an announcement of RDR3 would stir things up though. ....or maybe R*'s rethinking of new updates for RDR2/RDO. 1

What a shame, I was hoping to get connected with the RDR community since really love the games, hopefully I can when RDR3 comes out 1
The Blackangel Posted September 30, 2024 Posted September 30, 2024 I’m a little bit concerned about RDR3. Being that RDR2 is a prequel, it seems like R* may have shot themselves in the foot with the series. Unless they try doing background stories of the different characters and how they came to be part of the Van der Linde gang, or pick up where RDR1 left off with Jack Marston, there’s not really anywhere to go from here. I don’t see the origin stories doing anything but flopping. No one wants to take the time to see how Karen became part of the gang. And the Jack Marston angle would end up being a 1920’s gangster style game. Don’t we already have more than enough Al Capone ripoffs? Her was 12 in 1907. Then he was an adult when he took Ross down. I guess Jack DID enjoy his fishing after all.

Forums like this have been dying out for a while. Discord is supplanting them. I much prefer forums since it's easier to find info you're looking for, unlike Discord where sometimes you have to scroll so far back that it might as well be lost. I've been saying for a while that they should center RDR3 on Landon Ricketts in his youth.
Kean_1 Posted October 4, 2024 Posted October 4, 2024 Discord has certainly become a "go to" for a lot of folks but I have frequented several other forums over the years that are still very busy. ....some have even grown. Some of those also have Discord channels. RDR2 (the game) is no longer being updated. .....well, meaningful updates like GTAO. It simply doesn't have the audience it once had.
VICKSUN Posted June 27 Posted June 27 Discord and Reddit both hurt forums a lot. I haven't been on here much lately but since I am getting back into RDR2 I decided to pop on. Really hoping they are launching that updated version this fall that is rumored. Breathe some life back into the game and the community.
