  1. I personally think four horses is enough. What I don't like is that I have to sell a horse (if I'm at max capacity) if I want to see what a particular stable has to offer.
  2. Daytime, around noon, sunny weather, southeastern islands (see the map MorganKane posted above). As soon as you drop and skin a few of them, do a manual save and EXIT the game and then reload and do it all over again until you have what you want. If there aren't any egrets there, save and exit anyway and see if they spawn. When you get to the spoonbills there's a really good guide for farming them on Youtube but I'm too lazy to look it up. It's the same method but with a great spawn point. Seriously, f*ck that tedious mission.
  3. Such as the bastard playing dominoes at Emerald Ranch. I was doing the "win three games of dominoes in a row" challenge and as soon as he became a Jedi master during the third game I was absolutely livid. My girlfriend had to leave the room! Which was pretty good because then she didn't have to witness the things I did to that man when I finally won...
  4. To the west of the penitentiary there is a group of small islands. Just ride up and down there and a canoe should spawn (I found one on the biggest island and it had respawned when I returned). If it doesn't, try saving at that location, exit the game and reload your last save. And if that doesn't work your best bet is to head to the harbor in St Denis and try to steal one. The latter will be a long way to row though.
  5. It's definitely the best game I've ever played with GTAV and GTAIV up there as well. GR: Wildlands is up there as well but that game got a bit tedious and repetetive. And let's not forget the Hitman series! Basically any game that offers the amount of freedom the aforementioned games does is right up my alley. I can't stand linear games with the exception of The Last Of Us.
  6. I wouldn't say I rushed through the story. It's a shame we can't see how long we've played but I'd wager it took me 70-80 hrs to finish the game (I was home sick from work the first week after launch). Did all the satchel things and a ton of stranger missions while playing the story. Add another 30-40 hrs, if not more, to 100% the thing. There were instances in the story that pissed me off and I just wanted to get through it. I almost panicked at times because I was so angry. Not at the game but I was totally absorbed by the fantastic story. But see, I love knowing I have 100%-ed the game and now I'm doing all the things ya'll are doing. I'm basically a drifting explorer, roaming from town to town playing poker games, investigating weird stuff, doing the occasional hunting and selling the carcasses to the butchers. During the story I barely killed anyone if it wasn't during a mission. Now I blow the head of anyone that's rude to me when I greet them and then make amends by fishing and throwing them back. I love it so much that I'm literally itching to get off work and go back to my world of mayhem and mishaps.
  7. Hey, you do you but I honestly believe that you should save something for after the epilogue. It's great that you're doing the challenges because they can be a bit overwhelming after the endgame (I was still on bandit and survivalist #1 after the epilogue). As for horseman #9, just take it easy. I used an Arabian and I think I had a good 4 minutes to spare. I also placed 3-4 map markers so I could easily find where I needed to put my next waypoint. Don't take too many shortcuts because if you fall it's an automatic fail. And since the area you're heading to is on lockdown I suggest you fortify the cores on yourself and your horse. Good luck!
  8. You have to open your satchel and select the bird. I can't remember what the option is called but you press X and it basically gives you the feathers and meat. But don't take it apart if you're doing the hunting requests. All the stuff you mail must be carcasses. Happy holidays, feller!
  9. I won the first two games pretty easily. But then my opponent turned in to some domino savant with a ton of luck. I'm not exaggerating if I say that I had to back out of 15 games. But then I got 53 points on the first round and the rest is, thankfully, history.
  10. You get feathers if you take the carcass apart. There is one stranger mission which requires a perfect carcass and I don't think you can get that with the varmint rifle. Bow + small game arrow + deadeye works pretty good. I've found that you need pretty open areas in order to hunt the little bastards. The plains around Emerald Ranch is perfect and so is the plains around Blackwater if you have access to it. Also, it has to be daytime and sunny/overcast.
  11. You’ll be alright, buddy. Have you met the dude and got his spinner? That in itself tells me you have made it. For laughs, can’t you go to the place and cast for a while? 😀
  12. What I did was turn off the sound and watch some Netflix on my laptop. I think #8 took me two hours or something. #9 was actually more mentally draining (and it took close to three hours) for me because it really requires you to pay attention. Plus I suck at dominoes. The last challenge was a piece of piss. Just go all in every time. If you want to get 100% I absolutely recommend getting it done ASAP because I tried ignoring it but I was just filled with dread everytime I started the game. Some of the gambler challenges and EVERY SINGLE PART of ”Duchesses and other animals” are easily one of the worst things I’ve ever done in a game. And that’s coming from a guy who things RDR2 is the best game ever made. But now I’ve got my 100% completion (saved gang hideout for last so I could go out with a literal blast) and I feel so free! For the first time I feel like exploring at my leisure.
  13. Which one was it? The legendary catfish isn’t crossed out for me but that’s because I never caught it. Check the total completion section in Progress. If it’s checked off you’re good to go.
  14. I think the legendaries were a bit of a letdown. Find three items to track, see animal, unload 5 bolt action rifle rounds in the face. It's way harder to find a 3* animal and get a perfect shot. The only legendary that made me soil my unmentionables was:
  15. 3-4 days easy, if not more. I just couldn't be bothered to travel all the way to a trapper because I didn't need it for anything and I sure didn't need the $1.50 for the pelt. The only reason to hurry up is that you lose the pelt if you die.
  16. Wait, where the do you find this guy after the first time?
  17. People are making fun of my Legend of the East outfit all the time and I can’t blame them. It looks like sh*t, except for the vest. I wish the boosts were active when wearing something else.
  18. Actually, riding from Strawberry to the trapper is how I got it done in less than an hour. 90% of the time a cougar will spawn in the woods where the creek and the road parts (you’ll know). After you’ve killed and skinned the cougar, simply ride back to Strawberry and sleep. Rinse and repeat.
  19. I caught that fish but got eaten by an alligator when I was about to stow it on my horse. When I came back to life the fish was back in the water and I had to catch it again.
  20. For the sharpshooter one:
  21. This happened to me twice when I was playing last night. No missions, just taking baths, exiting with a completely different outfit and custom ones at that. One looked pretty cool so I saved it.
  22. So you can't win one game, save, leave the table and reload? What if you have to be somewhere IRL? That REALLY sucks!
  23. Yeah, the things you mentioned in your spoiler are very infuriating to say the least. I just wanted to get the hell out of that place so I rushed through that chapter. Also, I have the official guide and while it mentions missions that are time sensitive it doesn't mention animals that are time sensitive. I have absolutely no intention of playing through it again so missing out on that really sucks. When I hit the required 100% (currently at 97.1%) is when I enjoy games like this the most. No more stress, just exploring. But it sure will bug me that I missed all that stuff.
  24. Not collectable the way you mean but I did lose the legendary bear claw so now I can't make that particular talisman. Very annoying because that's the only talisman I'm missing. I got the pelt though.
