Update: Today I spoke to R* again by phone and was told that they indeed have no dedicated servers. They use peer to peer. The game picks the player with the best connection and uses them as a "master", and the rest of the players in that lobby "slave" off that connection. I was told that when the R* rep was the master connection, and they logged off the game, their friends called and said when you quit the entire lobby was disconnected. I was also told they were working hard to correct this issue. I suggested they come here to see the concerns of a large, diverse community of players. Very supportive conversation, that will and has provided fruit. I mentioned losing pelts, carcasses when using fast travel, and was told that had been fixed. And it indeed was true for me when I tested it. Can't say it enough, share feedback with R* as musch as possible. Capture videos and place on You Tube then share with R*.

I was not insinuating that you were.

You seem to have a lot of knowledge on the subject of exploits.

I was just informed by a R* support person in a phone call, that pelts are designed to disappear at death. As a penalty for dying, my words. Disconnects unfortunately look like death to the game.

I have not been blessed with pelts being persistent on my horse after disconnect or death.

If not in the mood, just ride away from assassin until timer is over. They rarely give it the effort.

48 players in every lobby I've seen is not a player dropoff.

Lost connection issues are a constant problem for me. See my post entitled "Constant Disconnects", and "Completely Unplayable for me" for workarounds that helped me on Xbox One.

Twelve year old children should not be the target audience. This game has the potential to be truly great. After playing games starting on Tandy PC, with DOS to present day consoles, Xbox One, in my case. I believe in this truly rich, deep and complex game.

I am OK with butcher prices overall, although the prices being higher would be a great fix. 😜 I am more curious about disappearing animal pelts and carcasses after death, or Fast Travel. Any experiences?

Free roam has no wildlife for me, but story missions are working.

I have Xbox One, and have forwarded ports, which helped a little, but did not fix it. My ping being 700 ms is the root issue. Not sure what DMZ is.

Felipe with R* just messaged me and stated that they, the support personnel, have not been able to play since Monday. He stated that it is up to the Repairs Team to fix it. If it is broken for Support personnel I hope that builds a fire under the Repair crew!

Completely Unplayable For Me and I ain't digging it! First constantly getting disconnected. All wildlife disappears from Free Roam. Game crashes after a few minutes, especially when trying to match make. I stay connected long enough to see that there are 23 players in my lobby. Obviously they can play at some level. I wish R* would address my concerns.

Mine too, game completely shuts down constantly.

Don't tell R* that, they told me it is a small percentage of the player population having issues like constant disconnects.

Personally I suspect the removal of wildlife is an intentional act by R* in their effort to study server behavior with just players on the server. Also saw that when in a story mission, wildlife is present.

Is losing weight really gonna have any consequences for the players character?

I have the same issue with Stranger missions never starting. I can walk outside and comeback in and Stranger has another mission for me (which never starts either). I also have the Stranger congratulating me for doing a great job on that last mission, when I return to the Post Office
