I have had my horse stop like that, like he bumped an immovable object. Also see him acting differently when I'm on a bridge. I cannot seem to whistle (no sound) on a bridge, after I get off the bridge he will come after I whistle, may not use bridge though.

Thanks for the respect there BurbonChaser, I understand it is game mechanic to let other players and NPC's attack on that mission. I get head shot all the time, no biggy, kids will be kids. What made me mad was how rare it is for me get a mission to start correctly. Then along comes lvl 94 and bang it's over. Just a different kind of fail than usual. Maybe next time.

Well thanks for all the responses. It sounds like solo playing is my issue as far as XP goes. My connection prohibits me from trying posse play because I don't want to crash the lobby. I play everyday for several hours and just cracked lvl 22. Any ideas on gaining XP fast playing solo welcomed.

I personally have never seen a player that high a level. Still suspect "Gamemasters" from R*. He bailed from the game before I could block, suspicious. Or maybe he got disconnected like I do all day long. I must be really hard headed, cause I log back into this beautiful game. or and over.

I got an email informing me that I had been found in violation of Xbox Live EULA, and was banned from playing most of my games for 24 hours. So I logged onto Xbox Live and searched for enforcement action, and learned how to use this against them. I now have ammunition myself for some griefers. He survives 4 direct hits with my pump shotgun, then I'm dead, of course. I message him and ask him if he found that challenging?, lvl 94 vs lvl 21. I also broke the first rule of email protocol. I wrote a message in anger! Not a good idea y'all. Messages sent to players that appear in the player list are sent using Xbox Live it appears. Big Brother and the thought police are a powerful team. Hey y'all I have been in contact with R* support for over a month. https://www.rdr2.org/forums/topic/4043-constant-disconnects/. After researching a little I find out they always use P2P for all their games to increase profits. After 63 emails in this chain with them, and 2 phone calls, I was basically told, there are millions not having this issue, so thanks for trying, goodbye.

I bought gold the first time it was offered on sale. Have not bought any since.

R* has told me in phone conversation, that their servers are peer to peer, not dedicated servers. They claim ping is not the most important criteria, then they do. I don't think they know or care about us few. As long as millions are not having issues.

No it is an FFA game. FreeForAll, which sucks for loners with a shitty DSL speed and tons of disconnects

Update Y'all: Just got a call in response to my email about getting passed around the office. Alicia and I spoke and I was told that assigning someone to your issue does not happen. She also dropped it on me that Players Unknown, which I mentioned as giving no disconnects, operated on a different server architecture that RDR2. PUBG uses dedicated servers to host hundreds of players, RDR2 uses peer to peer servers. This explains to me my issue, on the face of it. But it doesn't explain why they don't dedicate servers. I asked to speak to Cole again as he had the background. Cole lets me down easy and says there is nothing they can do for me. They believe it's my low speed DSL. So thanks for all the time and effort, goodbye. How ya like 'dem apples?

I would love to try posse's, but my 1.5mb connection speed is just going to mess up the other players, so I will wait until R* fixes their server issues.

Update: It seems that R* is just passing my email chain around their office. Just as I was getting support from one supervisor, he vanishes from thread and a new Supervisor is taken over the thread. Now I get to explain everything again and resend screenshots, etc.. Of course they could be bumping the chain up the Supervisor ladder in an effort to fix these disconnect issues. I am going to suggest they keep one Supervisor on this issue. Update to follow.

Hey, I play on Xbox also. I am still having stranger missions never start up after you accept. You can request a mission from same stranger again, still nothing happens. After that the choice to choose Accept **** is greyed out. I got 1 out of 5 to actually send me to a wagon.
