  1. The Varmint rifle is OP as that everyone should have it for hunting. If you do not have it , you are missing out on a lot of USD. I never do PVP modes and FOr PVP in free roam i run with the lancaster repeater / pump shotty / and 2 mausers (all with special ammo) or 2 sawed offs / sniper and repeater. I tend to not attack anyone , however if posse members / myself or my horse get shot or shot at the time has come to equip the dynamite arrows. got a tripple kill with it yesterday and flying corpses look fun.
  2. We can keep discussing this - I just gave a combination of factors that would make me stop playing - I have grinded around 30k in game USD and am level 101 after about a week of actual gametime. I am at a point that the grind is just to get additional pamphlets/guns/horses for fun of testing these, now I focus more on building up some USD for future content. After the grind (which is fun for me personally) I cannot see me doing it again at some sort of official release in the future with "maybe" one content update added at that point. The gold bars potentially lost wouldn't bother me but having to do the grind with the same things over and over again that I have been doing since RDO release most likely would. At this point I still go online daily, mainly because Battlefield V is in a messy state as well and no other titles I like are out there. I like Red Dead, simply put. I am however getting bored quicker. The main reason I stick around is that I am hoping for an actual common goal/objective to focus on which is posse related. Build your HQ op with common goals and grind/work for it. A digital sense of achieving something with a group of dedicated players. I truly hope this will get added and I am patient enough to wait for this a bit longer, but as stated by another poster here when new AAA titles are hitting most likely in March and RDO hasn't taken the next steps by then, I can see a massive playerdrop happening. A character reset at this point and state of the game is very unlikely, I can only see it happen when and if people keep Money and goldbars acquired and a big pile of content is added to the game. If not I see a lot of people quitting. In all fairness most of the people on forums for particular games are more dedicated in remaining loyal compared to the masses.
  3. This is of course your personal opinion, I have been playing with a lot of different players, and I see them switching quickly to different games already.
  4. Well we are all entitled to our opinions , I for one spent cash on gold bars to be more efficient in grinding (spent the ingame USD on things that can only be acquired by in game USD and used the gold to get my horse and some guns and clothing and camp enhancements) The essentials except maybe the horse were all grinded and although I would be very annoyed losing the spent real life money it would not be the main factor for me quitting if we would get a reset. Luckily I can miss a few real life bucks, if not I wouldn't have spent them. It would be the combination of loads of hours grinding to get where my character is, the sheer silence about the game's future by Rockstar and the fact that this Beta state of the game does not in any way show any signs of testing future improvements. Along with the fact that there indeed is too little content now and I for one can only do "fun" stuff in game without a goal for a limited amount of time. All these combined would be deciding to think about moving along to different games. I am pretty certain I will not be alone in this thought process, regarding I keep an eye on the Rockstar tweets / Reddit forum and reactions of the playerbase in general about RDO. Of course Rockstar can reset stats - if people that spent real mony get a refund that would be the only solution to avoid a major crapstorm from starting and it will still lead to a reduction of the playerbase - especially those that are willing to support Rockstar financially by buying gold. Whether anyone will notice the loss in playerbase is an entirely different matter, Rockstar would know.
  5. Well I do not think anyone here on the forum has any insights on your questions and we are all eagerly anticipating new content. If they do decide to reset ranks, they will lose a big part of their playerbase so I am pretty certain they will not do that. Also people have bought rank based unlocks with gold bar money so if they would reset Rockstar will face a lot of issues refunding things. NOT very likely at all they will do a reset. Rockstar tweeted yesterday that you can craft and cook online and the playerbase was not very mild responding to such a tweet as everyone is getting bored and wants new content badly.
  6. This also brings your horse back to your real bonding level if Rockstar has awarded you with the level1 bond achievement once more
  7. I wonder what you call exploits - I am level 100 and had massive playtime during the 2 weeks of at the end of 2018. I did approx. 7 levels of rooftop in Saint Denis, about 65 levels of grinding Saint Denis hunting grounds and the rest by just playing. Things like the rooftop in Saint Denis are in the game, there are many other ways to keep shooting a load of NPC's for xp without being killed, the rooftoop just minimises it. As a player you can kill the guy on the rooftop pretty easily if it bothers you as well. In the end the game is currently too empty and the only focus dedicated players have is on gathering resources - be it gold / USD or XP - Rockstar really needs to bring a good update soonish. Levelling up in this game is also way too easy as the xp needed isn't progressively stacked (just 50 xp added or so per level). This game needs posse dedicated content fast! OT - silly to have someone else levelling your character up for you and paying him/her - You grind these games or you play them in your own set of objectives to achieve. Wonder what the satisfaction for these people is to be a high level without having actually achieved it by yourself.
  8. I do not think "you" are on region specific servers. It more or less depends on your timeframe of playing. I am on GMT+1 Europe. If I go early in the morning I very frequently join in a lobby with a lot of Arabian players. If I go very late (night) I am more likely to be in a lobby with US players. During daytime and in the evening I usually join a lobby with EU and UK people. It might also be influenced if you have social matchmaking on - if so it is more likely it drops you in a lobby with people you befriended online. You change servers everytime you go to your online options and pick an option there.
  9. Well the main issue with everything is the auto aim...... I would prefer it if we would have more options to dodge like a roll or so, however the ability to shoot whilst doing it should not be there .
  10. There are no ability cards that make you invincible.... These people are simply using an exploit. I finished all tier 3 ability cards yesterday and it just gives me higher damage output and a bit of defense boost. This ghosting needs to be dealt with by Rockstar, but I don't see this changing soon, there are worse things that need attention like the horse bonding reset and the terrible servers which do not allow you to craft over 40 items without having to sit there for 30 minutes.
  11. Maybe you should check your posse recruitment thread every now and then, I replied about a week ago lol. I am Dutch as well and I think John013 and I are already befriended, I have several other Dutch guys in my posse but they do not play consistently - not sure if YoMoms does either anymore
  12. I assume at some point the current moneymaking won't really be enough to acquire items such as businesses or houses or something like that and I could see wagons being adapted to be used to be able to earn more bucks as a useful storage item at that point. The future will tell though
  13. Still cannot really grasp that people find fishing the best grinding method. Moneywise it is decent, but do you get xp for each fish you catch? If you are an above average PVP player grinding showdowns series large seems the best for xp and money combined. Saint Denis huntingground gives you best of xp and money if you get to know the huntinggrounds well. Combining all the birds with feather values of 1.50 usd a piece or higher and having 10 of them - Spoonbills / Loons / Pelicans / Herons / Cranes / vultures and Owls. small alligators *** sell for 3.50 a skin and 6.50 for carcass x 2 (lasso the 2nd). Along with the boars /turkeys / raccoons / oppossums / squirrels and especially muskusrats (1.95 per pelt). 2 perfect muskusrat carcasses nett you 8 usd (hang on horse if not available pelicans or herons give 3.25 a piece) There are many more other animals that turn up in a 24 cycle in that area and you can make between 100 USD to 150 USD per hour gameplay along with a decent amount of xp (birds give 10 a piece and alligators 15 xp along with all the 5xp kills). I don't think any other area is as rich in bird and small game variety. With regards to griefing it might happen you get griefed and lose 20 to 30 usd in a run but you still bring back a lot of money and the xp gathered cannot be taken away.
  14. In PVE with the massive griefing I completely disagree - it gives counter to surprise in the back shots In PVP you might be right but I stand with my first post that stated that you have the option to equip the same ability cards which evens the playing field.
  15. Not sure if you can consider this anti grief - more anti boost other accounts. You both can still be shot whenever
  16. Well the reasons someone would grief are 1000's : The main one will be : I get XP and enjoy pissing other people off and it is within the game's confounds. I get really sick of people defending griefing with this is the wild west and I am an outlaw. If people actually behaved like that back then the USA would have 1/4th the population it has nowadays and would most likely be without any cities... Outlaws didn't run around just shooting people, they were in it for the money or property.
  17. We can discuss this over and over, but everyone has the same possibilities so the playing ground is equal for all. For me the cards are the main grind reason and although I agree in Free Roam the gameplay should be altered in gunfights (PVP) due to the griefing aspect or not being ready for surprise attacks. In PVP different builds will actually give players different scenarios to have to counter, so I don't really agree, although I haven't done PVP. From what I have read there are more important problems such as the varmint headshot rifle that need to be addressed. As far as loadouts are concerned there are a lot of combinations possible and I can't really comment on PVP although your loadout will depend on your skill. If you rack up headshots running Eye for an Eye III combined with strange medicine III will keep health and dead eye at good levels combined with slow and steady III which gives you a decent chance at surviving more encounters. As for a 3rd passive you might want to consider Winning Streak III as a damage booster for both headand body damage. In PVE Slippery Bastard or slow and steady seem to be decent abilities. I always use Never without one III to be able to counter the surprise attacks from other online players. There are loads of cards that are decent like Peak Condition as damage booster as well as Horseman as in PVE damage output in general is more useful compared to health and dead eye regeneration at this point of the game. Currently working on getting the Posse beneficial cards to level 3 in order to be able to run a support character which benefit the better skilled PVP players I usually run with and am wondering how that will work. I assume these Posse related cards will be great later in in larger scale PVE and PVP team based gameplay.
  18. As soon as the store went online they removed the unlocked gold bar purchases - I checked at that time as I had around 50 gold bars and could not buy the Arabian. Thank god I didn't as the Fox Trotter feels better and is faster.
  19. I agree although for OP it may be a let-off. It is good that you need to level up before being able to buy with gold bars. Please remember that it gives you the benefit of not having to grind ingame cash or gold now that you can acquire gold through spending real life money. Also do not forget that you basically received 5 gold, then 20 and again 15 from Rockstar for playing from the start. I am not sure how much time you spent on the game, but untill now it has only been about grinding xp / cash and gold and in the end this will continue. The guy with the Arabian has done this as he must have been level 70 or grinded lots of gold bars in pvp meaning most likely he already is quite a high level as well before he could acquire the gold to get it (48 gb - 40 is still 8gb of grinding). I bought the big package of gold and used it on some gun upgrades / fox trotter / clothes / tent / fast travel and camp looks along with a saddle upgrade. All because I wanted to use my hard earned grind dollars on ability card upgrades which you cannot buy with gold. All these items I had to be the appropriate level for in order to acquire them and besides the obvious benefit of having the ability to more efficiently use the cash there is no real benefit I have towards other players by doing this. I still need to be the level to obtain the item.
  20. Any game like RD Online works in 2 ways - either grind it out hard or grind less and use gold - not entirely sure what your point is. The amount of hours of entertainment from the single player and the online part do in my personal opinion validate spending some money on the online, however this is only my personal opinion. In RDO most things are level locked and some are gold locked - the gold locked items (althugh debatable) currently - do not give you an edge. Agreed there is not much content at this time and compared to GTA RDO will struggle more in this regard due to it's setting, however there are still a lot of possibilities and ideas that can be implemented into the game. The question is, how and what will Rockstar do. I guess we will have to see. Also and this is not meant as an attack on OP - but why would you want to play solo online? If anything the game should evolve around building a strong Posse with a home, run businesses and do things together and have collective goals to achieve. Even the single player has it's focus on the posse. In my personal opinion if you want to play purely solo wouldn't it be more fun to do this in the story mode? If you do not like people, why would you want to play online? I cannot really understand the arguments you make about the online experience if you do not like people/do not want to be in a posse/ do not want to be matched. Griefing is a stupid thing - Rockstar should have made free roam mode free aim and lower damage alongside with penalties for the attacker, unfortunately this isn't the case. There might still be coming changes though, as Rockstar stated they are trying more anti-griefing measures in the future. What you are waiting for you ask? You will need to figure out what this game is/will be worth to you spending your time and perhaps money in. If you going this way solo, I can only say that you are going to miss out on a part of the game, whether or not this matters to you I don't know. In my opinion RDO will only be viable longer term if the focus will be on building a posse and have common goals to collect/grind/compete for. Rockstar will have to navigate a fine line with the microtransactions in order to sustain a balance in the playerbase and this will make RDO less of a moneymachine compared to GTA online.
  21. This game needs Posse related content using a communal ledger and the basics (size / layout and other stuff) shuld not be goldbar purchasable. Cosmetics could of course be a gold bar related issue. This is essential for longer term survival of this game online. Possible idea : 1. buy land with basic posse camp being placed. 2. Fortifications (different materials) 3. defenses - upgradeable 4. Internals - with communal ammo and kitchen, sleeping spots, stables 5. posse related wagon(s) for business types (Hunt and Fish / Farming / Goldmine / Banking / Building for externals / office (bounty hunters as job) In any case focus on this should be important for rockstar, naturally the above is just a general idea and not refined.
  22. I have no experience with the Turkoman, but my choice was made on the stamina difference between the 2, in favour of the fox trotter. With an improved saddle and the 50% stirrups. As far as I can tell the Turkoman is stronger compared to the Trotter in health, has the same accelleration is slower speedwise and has less stamina. Although in game the stats will show it a bit differently if I look on wikipedia the Trotter has a bit more going for it, for the long distance whilst the Turkoman will be a bit stronger in battles.
  23. Correct, same goes for the selling to the butcher and killing animals. The resettables go to X.
  24. Use the ingame dollars only on essentials in the beginning depending if you are PVE or PVP. After that the focus should be on ability cards as they cost a lot and only ingame dollars can be used. Remember that the cards need to be levelled so if you do not do this, you eventually are less efficient in using the hard earned xp. I used the ingame dollars on a varmint and a rolling block and their upgrades, big ammo stashes in catalogue, got the bow and a fishing rod and after that used everything on card upgrades. Currently all cards completely levelled xpwise, I just need to farm a lot more USD to get a lot of them to Tier 3. I think I still need about 6k USD to get them all to lvl3 but the most important ones are already maxxed. I purchased a big stash of gold to be honest in order to get a Fox Trotter, some outfits and several upgraded weapons and 5 pamphlets. Besides the horse these items do not really influence my performance so not really needed. Granted they minimize the need to spend USD on more functional items, this is subjective ofcourse.
  25. Why is something only Rockstar can answer. Perhaps due to it being levelbound (higher level) or more expensive to acquire. Some are more powerful, but e.g. split points are more accurate trading of some damage in return. And vice versa for the other types
