Daily challenges what are your least favorite?
Dissention replied to lumper's topic in Red Dead Online
Lol. I meant you can just run up behind a turtle or frog and stab them if you got your knife out. They're pretty slow. I just stabbed a bunch of turkeys. They're a pain to catch but figured I could use the exercise -
Daily challenges what are your least favorite?
Dissention replied to lumper's topic in Red Dead Online
Just shoot them with a dirty gun or a repeater so they don't die and stab them when they laying on the ground. Turtles and frogs work too. -
I've given up on the PVP myself because it's full of bugs, hacks, lvl 300+ players who just play it all day, explosive ammo, and peeps who just PIB and down their magic potions by the gallon. I refuse to use dead eye potions (ie. You're just paying to win) and will have a couple of flops here and their but can still can generally place pretty high on the board However ... Repeaters in my book are worthless....in free roam they're good for bird hunting is about it unless you're using PIB/Dead eye Bolt action or Springfield rifle with express ammo is best for PVP. High velocity for distance fights. Double barrel is too slow for PVP. Repeating, pump or semi shotgun for PVP offers better fire rate, maximum damage Cards really need to be matched to the type of fight and you can change them at beginning. Allot of of it is practice and strategy. Also if you see your in a match with all high levels better off quiting and finding a match with players closer to your own rank.

Don't know DayZ but as far as Zombie Apocalypse games I am eagerly waiting for the Last of US 2. I got Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 for Switch but hate the Switch Controllers, don't want to drop $60 on the pro controller, and it's hard to rip that switch out of my kids hands. ...but back to my original point on this thread... I just think going forward I think it's realistic to expect that they're just kinda building this game Ad-Hoc and going to drip feed as long as they can. I don't think updates are going to be regular as compared to other games I've played. I mean just pulling, Fortnite off the top of my head...updates are consistent and well communicated. In all honesty, RDO is not the worst but the second worst in recent memory for stability, bugs and frequency of updates. The other thing is R* should have never stated Summer update or have communicated delays better . You got threads all over the social sites for RDO blasting them for the term Summer and they've frustrated a huge percentage of their player base. and personally I'll admit it I'm a money hoarder and don't want to lose my streak again (I'm up to 60 days even after 4 days off in June). IDK probably serve me well to just let it lapse for a week but that 1 gold bar a challenge is enticing and about all I have left to do accomplish in RDO at this time....earn money and fight off raging griefers. As far as the game itself, it's the only place I can walk outside and start shooting up animals or just fish on a whim, still love it, but want to see it grow. Right now seems like it's just moving sideways an backwards.

My whole thing is game is kind of boring right now and I'm also doing as many dailies as I can and logging out, got a stack of cash and gold and a stack of almost everything I want. I'm in the camp of I don't care when they release the update but I'd like to see some of all of these bugs fixed. I got a 5th horse that's unusable, PVP is broken ...and the other 90% of the time it just counts down to 0 and pops me back into free room, guns are inconsistent, cleaning my horse doesn't register, etc etc... Today for example...game crashes and I come back with no health, dirty guns and the wrong dang horse. Plus all the distance I traveled and time spent with no hostility was lost. Edit...now it crashes Everytime I reach one day with no hostility and my skin menu is different. Stuff like this drives me nuts Content is king but bugs need to be fixed. Don't be pouring new code on top of spaghetti code

they just posted this week's drip feed. https://www.rockstargames.com/newswire/article/61093/Earn-Double-Gold-on-Daily-Challenges

IDK. It's after 11 am Eastern Time zone and no announcement of anything so I'm just speculating but... Could drop today but If you read R* job postings they seem to run an agile software development process which basically means to me they probably just have limited resources (most of the team has moved onto the secret games in development) and are probably pushing up against team members summer vacations, maybe some issues with the programming and stuff like that. I think it's more of a bottleneck in the programming part than a staged rollout campaign. Drop whenever it passes internal Quality control Apparently from what I read GTO has had same issues in the past with spring updates coming out in Winter, etc.

this is one of those questions I love to answer (makes me feel somewhat useful) but don't have a great understanding of how I got that buckle. I was stuck on 49 stores for the longest time but got the 50th a long time ago when I bought drinks in Amarillo. 1. I think you have to actually visit every store in game... including butchers, doctors, saloons, stables, poker halls, general stores, gunsmith, photo shops, bait shop in the swamp, etc. (Ie.. their is a barber in Valentine saloon and I think that counts as 2) and that gets you exactly to or close to 50. 2. I also think you have to buy or sell something in each of them. (I'm not sure if or what I bought at the photo shops though) 3. Also think it's buggy like everything else in this game... I was stuck on 14 fish for the longest time and got the 15th with the long nose gar challenge the other day....I swear I've caught that fish tons of times b4. It's one of those buckles I just stumbled upon
-
Yeah I don't know about the other poster but I usually find them plentiful near emerald ranch and great plains, even tried changing servers.. I'll try the Valentine spot next time but it gets to the point where it's a chore...I was spending 3 in game days at whatever it is $5 a day on a Saturday afternoon in summer. 2 PVP with a decent showing is amore XP and about the same gold. Yesterday I got 3 of them within 20 minutes of login Same thing when spoonbills are the challenge you spend more time looking for them than you make
-
Yeah I wiped out that 20 kills challenge in like 20 minutes too including bear and bison. Sometimes when I'm on a barren server I find taking a mission, escort or spending some money in stables/ town/catalogue gets the spawns going. Especially missions or escorts. Couldn't find no prairie chickens yesterday though (although I found one flying at night in the fog) , so they definitely seem to mess with the challenge stuff in background
-
100% agree with stated above... Only thing I could add is I think the core player bought the game back in October and has been playing the online version for what 8 9 months now and they're just drip feeding the game to death. Yeah the roles will be cool but how long are people going to wait for updates..every 6 months.. a new ugly hat for $100+ isn't going to cut it. I got fundamentally the same bugs I had 6 months ago and support just says here is x amount of $'s please bear with us. They're adding 300k copies a month for 6 months now and expect that to slow..how many turn to online play vs story mode... IDK... I said it B4 Sept through Christmas is new game time.... something like Star Wars is any good I'm gone. And that corporate BS that The whole griefing has gone down because people have something to do is what through me over the edge in that article, especially when I got multiple instances of d-bags trying to attack me when I'm just out hunting for dailies. Then I got to fend off entire flocks of raging griefers, idiots trying to lasso me, or posses who think they own that S***hole tumbleweed and stuff like that. And agree PVP is a joke.
-
Yeah I'm the same. I don't even care about the pelts anymore. Feathers/fish/claw/horn/meat and small 3* pelt thing is what I've been doing too I should have clarified my statement though. R* exec in article is claiming that the roles will cut down on the griefing because naturally people will now have something to do. I don't think he's right, I think griefers will be griefers and most of it is posse infighting where a couple of members decide to get balls and go kill solos. Personally, like the dailies, I that it's going to be hard to do the roles if people griefing you. In the last week I've seen griefing on the rise again and tried changing servers and still wind up spawning back in the same Melee or a new Melee. I will defend myself and can usually handle 1,2 or 3 member posses...when it gets to 4+ on one it's too much. It's also a drag on my time as all I'm doing is hunting for dailies and getting attacked just minding my own business And my feeling is that they messing with defensive mode in background... it's more worthless than ever and been super buggy since early last week Just give me a private lobby, heck I'd even pay for it, and forget this whole peaceful coexistence thing already
-
So gamesradar has a big article today on the future of RDO https://www.gamesradar.com/rockstar-details-the-future-of-red-dead-online-we-are-only-just-getting-started/ IDK. I don't see a future (at least for me) without Private lobbies ... I login and have to fight 2 or more 3 man+ posses who think their all good when teaming up on Solo's and using their slippery bastard. I can hold my own but it's a challenge when your outnumbered and gets quite boring after awhile
-
I actually got a question and what peaked my interest was the roles, and change in mechanics but most of all taking less damage in defensive mode. When you play GTO in passive mode can you take any damage? Last week or so some low level noobs been trying their best to hit me. Maybe they get me twice, if their lucky, B4 I torture them to the point they leave the server but it gets annoying after a while. Some days/nights I just want to grab a couple of dailies to keep the streak going and get off and do something more productive with my life. And I originally called update in time for earnings report and will admit I was wrong but they did put the press release out on the Friday b4 the call, but I also guessing they got all those casino players to brag about Monday, and we won't see nothing till end of the month/September

Video of R* preparing for "SUMMER" update to RDO
Dissention replied to HuDawg's topic in Red Dead Online
https://www.rockstargames.com/newswire/article/61063/Red-Dead-Online-Update-Coming-Soon Posted or updated this morning...key word. "Later this summer" Substantial, across the board changes are being made to combat and movement to allow for a more responsive control system that still feels natural. Additional damage reduction to Defensive players is also on the horizon, and the game will now remember your preferred playing style (Offensive or Defensive) when you exit and relaunch the game. There will also be many more lootable items to be found throughout the world, like containers on wagons or the occasional Gold Tooth on an unfortunate soul. -
*FIXED* Horse ALWAYS very low health/stamina cores. !!!BUG!!!
Dissention replied to Ante_Geia's topic in Troubleshooting
Pretty confident it's a bug I'm having the same problem with my fifth horse (not my turkoman) I just purchased Sunday. It comes out of the stable half dead and nothing I can do about it. I got it up to bonding 2 and fed it, and all that jazz but just goes back to half dead again I usually wait a few days b4 reporting bug to R* but I plan to take video of it and submit a ticket. That would be my suggestion. -
Yep Happened to me about a week ago. (I've got a ton of stuff on the PS4 that I've been planning to post, including video of the incident, but video is a pain in the butt. and I'm lazy) LSS...I rode to camp and their where some enemies but another player was already their so I decided to do some fishing and let him finish it off. As I was riding out of camp I could swear Cripps was packing a pistol and shooting at them. came back and found him dead.... The kicker for me was they wanted $4 to revive him.
-
Seems like you have the holster equipped and own 2 guns only thing I can think of is... You have to reach rank 25 to be able to use dual handguns, or at least that's the way it used to be. I would contact R* support if you're already level 25

I think allot of these gaming companies all subscribe to the Skinner's box theory of gaming. Or at least they went to the same class. I hate posting 3rd party links but this site explains it better than I could ever do https://levelskip.com/misc/Skinners-Box-and-Video-Games Some of them are better at implementation than others...my opinion is R* stinks at it for RDO and great at it for GTO. They make everything super expensive so you gain perceived value. They keep you coming back for the dailies, free gifts etc. Most of all they all keep you fustrated I also still play daily but getting to point where I might take extended period off This game surely lacks content

it's a neon dress as seen above

That is one ugly $130 hat Newswire just came through https://www.rockstargames.com/newswire/article/61054/Daily-Challenge-Streak-Award-and-Free-Roam-Event-Rewards Bonus map and twitch rewards are highlight since I don't own that rifle Twitch Prime members who have linked their account to their Rockstar Games Social Club profile can lay claim to the Tasman and Danube outfits, the boisterous "How Dare You"emote and the high-powered Carcano Rifle, all for free and with no Rank locks.

Someone else was posting about quick dead eye core drains a couple weeks back and I suggested the passive cards mentioned above too but I wonder if the root problem is the characters weight. I believe overweight and underweight characters are going to experience quick core drains Just another thought.

Yeah my original point of including that fact is In November TTWO reported 23 million copies sold, in May... 24 million. So that's only 1 million or so whereas GTA 5 is up to 110 million worldwide and about 10 million copies in the same period. Last few months GTA is generally about the 5th best selling game and RDR2 is 7th Hence... On one hand I don't think that all these gaming companies should be public companies. It raises capital but I truly believe that they do things to appease the shareholders because it puts them under a microscope. I’ve worked for public companies and it’s a quarterly based mentality. (I.e Why I’m betting update coincides with earning.) GTA5 and GTO is, by most accounts, the most profitable game of all time, so duplicating the success is never going to happen. It came out just b4 streaming and Mobile games and now there is more competition for time and money. If you also look at their November and May report TTWO makes at least $315M+ on in app purchases in GTO, NBA and WWE. RDO isn't mentioned (don’t know if because it’s new or they just ain’t selling that gold) and I don't see the need for microtransactions. I bought the $4.99 deal way back when (and probably would buy it again if offered) but other than that there is nothing really to spend money on (past level 100 especially.) I can earn money pretty quickly in game just by grinding. If they keep making money on GTO sooner or later they are likely o put the resources where the money is. I don’t know if they use resources cross corporate wise but …They got Borderlands 3 launching in Sept, the rumored Bully sequel is either dead or happening by some accounts, and GTA6 is under development (not confirmed but rumors all point to it) for a few years down the road. My bottom line is R* needs to do something, what that something is I don’t have the answer. I read this forum and Reddit…History has shown me that it’s Summer so game play drops off but overall sentiment seems pretty negative, people just seem bored with RDO right now. Most common complaint I see is RDO has nothing to do and that their communication (like most gaming companies) is horrible I love the game and want to see it succeed but I’m of the opinion they really need to do something and push across some major updates in succession. . You got a slew of games releasing in time for Christmas. The RPG elements is a start.

1 free horse reviver = my horse will get wild and/or step over a twig and die 5 times this week. TTWO reports earnings on approximately Monday August 5th, so my bet is they release big update on the 6th or b4. (Along with that casino thingy over at GTO) Bottom line is that GTA5 and GTO is still outselling RDR2 and RDO (some analysts have it has high as 10 to 1 since January) They got to spin it, so I expect something in time for the earnings call. In meantime they killing me with boredom.

What do you guys wish for the RDR2 online to come?
Dissention replied to Miss_WarHorse's question in Questions & Answers
Honestly, in my opinion the game itself has root problems that you get to a certain point and not allot to do or spend the gold/$'s you earn. I'm sitting on a good sum of money and really hope that the long anticipated summer update brings some decent role playing elements and life back to the game but most of all… Even the dailies feel like a chore sometimes. Feature wise…. Gun storage as others mentioned. Half the guns I bought just clogging the wheel As a female character… yeah the hair and makeup choices are limited but ok... but my girls face and teeth are pretty ragged is the root issue. So the proposed character reset, without ridiculous costs, will be cool. Bigger breasts... sorry but girls are basically a skinny dude with a nice booty. Nice clothes (at a decent cost). I don't want to look like fortnite or plastic/neon GTA outfits. Plus pre made outfits are hideous colors. Girl needs to look good. Rope belts ain’t cutting it. I’ve said this b4... owning a brothel would be really cool. Little sleezy but that is fine. I'd take a saloon, restaurant, blacksmith or other business. Maybe just a homestead...instead of chasing Cripps when camp does work. Heck I'd expect to cost some ridiculous amount but it be worth it. Co-op missions…. people working together for a common goal. Vs griefing. I doubt they would do an Indian invasion but some kind of villain/competition everyone can contribute to. Allowed to leave sidearms on horse. You can leave longarms but can’t go swimming without dirty up your pistols. (Yes I switch to revolvers I don’t use) Ability to organize or alphabetize satchel. Looking through stuff is tedious. Long shot, but expand the map. New territory, towns etc. And a butcher in the North. What I REALLY want from RDO going forward….. No more hacks! (Reddit had the gold bug the other day and people just loaded up) creates a competitive imbalance and they do nothing) Not having to wait 20 minutes and cleaning the cache to get into Showdown Series/large Not having to wait to sell stuff at butcher/Dr. (Processing loop) Yeah I get it, they want you to sell the whole stack but I like to keep some reserves. And of course no more crashes when I'm in first place in a free room or loaded with perfect skins. They also need major rework on PVP... I don't know about anyone else but I'm pretty burnt out on PVP. I got my 2 100 win buckles and other PVP buckles and now I just cringe when I see PVP as a daily. Same games/strategies rehashed over and over. Free room is just death by cross fire and run, run and run some more. Take away the passives (slippery bastard, PIB, etc) and stop spawning people in an area where the competition just waits. Plus this BS where my horse has no health/stamina, jump to train don’t work, people disappear/go invisible, and my guns go dirty is just annoying.sometimes I feel like they are doing everything they can to make me lose. And the BS where you have a fishing challenge with no fish or wild animal challenges where 5 shots from a shotgun doesn’t kill a wolf also makes my list. Sorry for the long post, just a collection of stuff I've already sent to R*
