And let's not forget the incest couple.
Or the random cabin in Ambarino that's inspired by the Peacock Brothers from the X-Files episode "Home"
Probably over the heads of most people, but I still remember watching that the one time it was allowed to air.

There's the scene in which Kieran's horse comes trotting into camp with his decapitated body propped up in the saddle and his head cradled in the corpse's hands.
There's some results in the
SpoilerGet drunk with Lennie Mission
that, as a parent, I wouldn't want to be explaining to my 8 year old son.
The Kieran scene is pretty bad, though, as is the whole "burning bodies" thing. It's going to depend on the parent and kid. My kids are too young for RDR2 in ANY capacity (they're 8 and 5), so I don't even play it unless they're in bed for the night.
The lynched people hanging from the trees in Lemyone isn't ideal for kids either, imo. Even the O'Driscolls and Mrs. Adler in the beginning might lead to questions you don't want to answer, depending on the age of you kids.
There's also the whole "guy with a pig" thing. Not trying to sound like a prude, but depending on the kid, again, I'd be hesitant to have them stumble across that as well.

And they could have just as easily not given us anything. Free is free, less work I have to do even if I can make them myself.
I suppose that I'm just irritated about the quality of the items that were gifted, which was undoubtedly compounded by how completely unplayable the update has made the game.
Multiple instances of the game getting stuck in the catalog and only being able to zoom. I literally had to exit the game and restart at least four times.
Story Mission matchmaking that didn't have the timer start or allow players to ready up in the lobby, even when it was full.
The disconnects are as bad as they were at launch.
So I'm not going to be impressed or thankful to have received items that I can't use.

If they continue to keep giving us players eyebrow height wedgies, people will stop playing. They better be careful with what they implement. I was on earlier today and didn't notice this happening but I also was avoiding other players.
But... It's a beta.*

Oh gawd no. Explosive ammo is already way overpowered. IMO, that would only make balancing issues worse in the game. As it is, not everyone wants to use it because of the associated costs and limited amount.
I actually wished they did away with explosive ammo entirely and tweaked the lethality of the other types as needed. ......but at least this way the relatively few folks who have it aren't running around with hundreds of rounds of this stuff. .....IMO.
Your argument is compelling, but Uncle Bropollo LOVES clearing hideouts and completing missions with incendiary and explosive shells in story mode. No reason there can't be a middle ground for free roam.
Then again, no ammo variants is an intriguing concept. I'd want to keep shotgun slugs, but that's it.

You're not allowed to equip more than 10 rounds at a time from what I understand.
I did not know that. That number seems very low and should be raised significantly for when the game exits Beta, imo.

Same. Now Divison 2 Premium credits on the other hand...

I'm not bothered by it either. The free gold bars were/are much appreciated. But I equate the pittance of items that they distributed to the "goodie" bags that are distributed at kids' birthday parties. As Mrs. Creed has so eloquently stated on many occasions, "great, another bag of crap to take up space." My kids don't need a sandwich bag full of animal and food shaped erasers, wrist bands, or glow sticks that we're going to end up throwing out eventually anyways.

I am upset about the changes to the latest changes to the economy. I felt it required just the right amount of grinding before to make money for higher end expenditures such as weapons, pamphlets and ability card upgrades. Now one rabbit won't even cover the daily cost of camp and stable upkeep. I'll learn to adjust. I haven't had the chance to compare prices of all animals yet, but I do know that so far fish appear to be untouched, so I'll be doing a lot more of that.
The animal thing doesn't bother me as much as I thought it would. Probably because a horse can only hold so many carcasses to begin with, but there's far more leeway with pelts and parts, so the difference is negligible, unless I'm misinterpreting the changes.

Well, I wouldn't call the explosive shotgun slugs garbage. I also use the other items too so while they weren't impressive, I gladly accepted them.
It'd be one thing if they were permanent items, but it's literally a grab bag of consumables that are single-use items each. As someone without the level requisite to purchase/craft explosive shells, a handful of ammo doesn't do much to benefit me. I could use them in a PvE or PvP element, and then switch over to regular once that pittance of ammo is used up.
Now a full compliment of explosive ammo.... that'd be a different story entirely.
The free Gold Bars that were distributed earlier in the beta process were much, MUCH more beneficial, as they could be used for more things earlier on, including cosmetics that are persistent and stay with your character. I use gold specifically for clothing and that's it.
Gold Bars would have been a fine thing to test via delivery system, but instead of "throwing away profit" by giving it away to test the system, they opted for items that I consider to be largely inconsequential in the grand scheme of the game's current iteration and economy.

That's not really a fair opinion because the entire concept of "beta" being released on consoles has been non-existent until this current generation, let alone the past few years. Because the review and approval processes are so stringent for $ony and Micro$oft, there's been a general reluctance to allow betas to flourish on their respective console services, given the generalities of the respective Terms of Service and respective "refund" policies. One needs to look no further than the Hindenburg-esque disaster that was Marvel Heroes Online's Console Beta and the amount of money people were screwed out of to understand the general hesitance of console gamers in the entire concept of "betas"--especially when money is changing hands.
I think people would be more accepting of a prolonged beta if R* hadn't already monetized it and overtly enticed people to spend money by giving special "one-time" offers on Gold Bar purchases. Testing the economy and systems is one thing, but charging people to do so, when there's no guarantee that the "final" product will in any way be representative of what they've already spent money on borders on a deceptive business practice at best, and is outright predatory at worst.
PC gamers have been playing betas for DECADES. And, until microtransactions became a thing, they were largely devoid of monetization schemes. Sure, you could pay for access to a beta, but more often than not, betas were designed to improve a product, not separate the consumer from their money before the final product was available.
Personally, they could leave it in beta for another year for all I care, I just think it's bad business when facing direct competition in the "Games as a Service/MMO" sphere with Anthem (which came out last week) and The Division 2 (coming in less than two weeks for preorders). Both of those games are launching online without Beta designations, and, one would imagine, a far more reliable, consistent, and engaging online experience (haven't played Anthem myself, but the closed Beta for TD2 had ZERO connection issues).

I don't think you can consider receiving "garbage" as "gifts".
Clearly they're just testing out a delivery mechanism for having players gift Gold and/or Items to one-another.

I feel as though the underpants have been pulled over our eyes.
You jest, but one of the most effective costumes I ever had included a pair of kids Underoos pulled over my head like a Luchador mask (with the leg holes over my eyes so I could see, and my nose sticking out of the flap in the front). There's pictures somewhere, and if I ever decide to run for public office, I'd fear the release of those photos more than any other "scandal".

I don't know why this is but "bad guys" were showing up on my App about 30 seconds or so sooner than they did in the game. It's funny because you would think it would be the opposite.
If I had to guess, it's because the server is quicker to update one app than it is multiple connected systems (ps4's in your case) and reflect said changes. I.E. it can't update the server until all the players (all 20-32 of them in free roam) are able to be notified of the player status change at the same time. Since there's only one map to update on the app (as opposed to the 20+ in-game) it makes sense that the app would update first.

I just gagged on my coffee. "Over 300 new clothing items"? That seems... excessive, even factoring in that the number is far less in reality since they must be counting different color permutations of the same article (i.e. a hat that has six different color configurations counts as "six new items" instead of "one"). Assuming that the average number of color variants for a single article of clothing is what, five or six items? That's still 50-60 new articles of clothing.
Edit: I can't wait to dress my character like Colonel Sanders.

Didn't want to mess with a good thing, so "Bropollo Creed" it is.
Edit: although, to be fair, some of the more... "creative" names tripped the censorship filter in the game, lol.

I've been offline for a few days, but back when I was having the frequent disconnects, one of the things that seemed to stabilize my sessions was going into my modem/router (yes, it's one piece) and activating "UPnP" or "Universal Plug and Play". It didn't stop the disconnects entirely, but they became far more infrequent, and I've been able to play for hours at a time without issue.
It's not going to work for everyone, but I highly advise anyone who is using wireless to consider either that option, or creating a static IP for your PS4 on your router--I've done that in the past and it made a difference as well on other games that had connectivity issues.
