How many new accounts have been created on this forum alone to complain about a "bug" or something being "broken" when in fact it's just user error. So many people complaining about the amount of bugs in this game....how many aren't really bugs at all?

Finding the person belonging to the voice

I shot off his cuffs and let him tell me about the score then hog-tied him and threw him in the river. -
Your Most Annoying Challenge
rick249kdr replied to Melting Snowflakes's topic in Red Dead Redemption 2
Mine has been actually finding the squirrel. *Varmint rifle with full aim assist will yield you a perfect pelt almost every time with a three star animal. No need to dead-eye for head shot. Just ride around randomly pulling aim and it will lock onto whatever's near. I just can't find a squirrel. Saw one in an hour of searching last night and it was two star. No good. Plenty of rabbits....they're everywhere. *This may only be true after legendary buck is harvested. -
Same. Didn't wear the hood though. Just the bandana. It's been my highest bounty thus far at $110. Only part way through chapter 3. I really hope we get to kill Micah. Very interesting how some people get much stiffer bounties and much more often...

I'm still in chapter two and it doesn't yet have the feel of what I was expecting. I've heard once you're into chapter three there's a better understanding and feel of what's in front of you so here's hoping. The game is also very overwhelming. I've compared it to Netflix where there's so much to do and look for that you don't know where to start or which way to go next. Discovering the mysteries in some of the abandoned cabins is almost more fun than the story. I'm still at the point where I'm hoping those mysteries actually go somewhere.

Why does Dead Eye stop painting x's on People??
rick249kdr replied to somanymatts's topic in Red Dead Redemption 2
But does it though? Does it have any more than any other AAA release? It's because this is the new nature of society. There could be a perfect game release and you would see dozens of "bug" threads because this is what people do now. I think it only seems this way because half the bugs reported are hearsay from gamer kids that don't like the fact that you can't run around and kill everything and get away with it. I agree with you that there are a pile of real bugs but not near the amount perceived. Like most things, there's always some exaggeration. Also just my opinion, what do I know. -
NPC's for liars dice is too difficult to code, strategically speaking. Meaning, if you know the game, and use the right strategy, you will never lose a match. Games like poker and dominoes have easier algorithms for NPC's to play realistically. Sometimes they win and their's nothing you can do about it. This is why you'll see it in online but not against NPC's.

Why does Dead Eye stop painting x's on People??

This is a good thing. You get to choose your spots now. It's amazing how quickly everything is a glitch or a bug simply because you don't understand something or it's something you don't like. -
So to reiterate, there is no tangible benefit to donating items or cash unless you're purchasing upgrades at that moment? If you donate to the cash box, those funds could possibly be lost to something you didn't choose? End result, donating is pointless unless you dump some trinkets in directly before purchasing upgrades or resupplies?

I haven't been paying attention to the conversion but it does seem to happen quick. What is the rate? I know GTA5 was 2 real time seconds = 1 in game minute. Is it the same? I'm sure I could look it up but figured I'd throw it out there. Does seem quick though.

I believe the "camp share" goes to medicines, provisions for stew, general upkeep of the camp. You will not see it in the donation box.

@Poggy Play style just about sums it up. You have to kill piles of people and hang around for your bounty to be up that high. Especially that early in the game. Or just continue to let your bounties sit unpaid and build on each other. This is not GTA. I had a bounty get up to around 40 bucks at one point because I did some unspeakable things but I had to work to get it there. Groundhog day is spot on @BropolloCreed79

I think his issue is different from your post. I agree that the bounty system is flawed, and I commented on your original post before you created an identical second one, but it seems like this person wants to run amok with zero consequences and is dismissing it as a bug. Upon reading a bit further, I feel like this is one of the chief complaints among a very small, vocal, and probably too young to legally purchase the game, part of the player base. Very upset that you can't create total havoc and not pay for it. This is not GTA. Period. Most of us aren't having this problem because we're playing cautious and careful. Not that there's a wrong way to play but being reckless has consequences. Once you get into later chapters you get loads of money so run wild then.
-
It amazes me how quickly people are to call things "bugs" because they don't like how they work. I may be wrong but it seems like this is a result of your play style? You have to pay off your bounties. This isn't a run and gun shooter. Commit crimes and you will attract attention.

No R* Logo on brightness adjustment screen...
rick249kdr replied to JohnConnor's topic in Red Dead Redemption 2
I don't think it's a bug. I had to adjust the brightness on my television before I could see it. -
Criminal and Bounty system is flawed
rick249kdr replied to ghostpro71's topic in Red Dead Redemption 2
I agree completely. This is the Rockstar/GTA model for police activity. Not to mention suicidal lawmen. I stole a horse and immediately had a bounty, was being chased by half dozen people on horseback who ended up shooting the horse, no one was around to know who's horse that was. You also lose a pile of money when you die while wanted. Does anyone know that formula? Is it a % of your cash on hand? -
Any Benefit in Contributing to Camp Funds
rick249kdr replied to rick249kdr's topic in Red Dead Redemption 2
Have you donated to the camp? -
I'm still on chapter 2 and may just be a dummy but here's my question. Is there any benefit to contributing to the camp's fund unless you have to? I understand upgrading the camp takes your money but does giving trinkets or cash have any positive effect otherwise? So far it doesn't seem like it, but I'm curious if it pays off later? Like if I take that gold bar you get from the burnt out village and donate it, is it better than hocking it at the fence?

Red Dead Redemption 2 Tips For Beginners
rick249kdr replied to NewsBot's topic in Red Dead Redemption 2
The whole thing can be a little overwhelming. Almost like finding something to watch on Netflix. There's so much to do you don't know what to do.... I'd recommend googling "things to do first in RDR2". There are some good tips there. There are a few things it seems like you should be doing but are unable to early on, I kinda get frustrated like I'm missing something. -
The phrase "to the moon and back".

For sure. I blew the Gun Media trumpet as long as anyone, even squared off in some solid arguments in their defense, but the repeated ignorance became to much to ignore. The game is great. Even with problems. Was actually my first real online multiplayer experience. Could play private for hours with no hiccups and great fun. I actually spent way more time in the forums than the game over the last few months. But they're clearly done with it. Lawsuit was the perfect shroud for them to wash their hands.

Thanks. My post count was only in the low 300's. Fairly active the first few months after launch, lately not so much. Was still lurking but there hasn't really been much to say that would add anything to the conversation. That place just got sad and depressing. Usually the last weeks leading up to launch and the first few months after are the brightest.

I've been wondering if we're going to see more plants and animals in RDR2? I really don't know how they would expand on the variety of animals, as it seems they had most species covered in the original, but I'm hoping they go big and expand greatly. At the very least I hope there's not LESS variety than the original. As much as it sucked getting jumped by a cougar while trying to get your last Wild Feverfew, I would be upset if the predators didn't make it into the game. The survivalist challenges were a little tedious but there's a foundation there for a solid idea.

That's my thinking. Either we'll dislike Marston for doing it. Or we dislike Arthur and want him to die, in which case, that's a tough protagonist to play. It definitely is obvious, but I'm still leaning toward him dying. Either that or Michael and Trevor pick him up in a spaceship and he shows up in GTA 6. It is R* after all.
