I would guess a trailer will drop either this week or next week. Thats mid-way between the first trailer and the release date. I've also just realised that we can now officially say that the game comes out NEXT MONTH!

I like others, will try different options on different play throughs. My first play-through I may help him, but the second time through i will do the opposite. Going back to the screenshot, does anyone think that the guy hanging off the cliff is 'Jimmy Brooks' from the trailer?

Is bounty hunting confirmed? I'm not sure if it would make sense. Arthur is an outlaw so if anything you would expect him to be the bounty not the hunter. I think the only way it would work is if Dutch has a list of people that he wants capturing and/or killing, so its still the same concept, but you are acting on behalf of Dutch rather than the law.

I think its just down to personal taste. As hard as it is to believe, we need to remember that there are actually some people who don't and won't enjoy this type of game. Big maps, open world, side activities etc is not for everyone. If i was a Gamestop employee and i was shown a trailer of a new COD or Battlefield game, I would have had the same reaction, because I don't like FPS games.

As someone who doesn't do online gaming, the replayability factor of the story mode is most important to me. That being said, I don't think i've ever had a Rockstar game where I haven't done at least a second play through. I'm hoping the introduction of choice based interactions will make for a few alternative outcomes in the story. Like in the Witcher 3, the choices you made determined the outcome of the game, with alternate endings. It makes you want to do another playthrough just to see the differences in the choices you make.

How important is replayability going to be for you on this game? Do you intend to play the story mode through a few times over? Or will you just switch to online as soon as possible and never visit the story mode again?

I'm not much of a drinker. Every now and then I will go on a mad one, then i'll feel like crap and won't do it again for months. Apart from that I maybe have one drink a week, on a Friday to celebrate the start of the weekend. Junk food is more my poison. I'm a sucker for chinese food.

Thanks all To be honest I am not very technically minded so this one appealed to me just because it is made for Xbox and I know i won't have any problems with compatibility etc. I will do a bit of reading up and see what else might be good to use

I agree and am really glad to see they’ve added this aspect to the game. Investing time in building up a bond with a horse will make it so much more valuable rather than being just a mode of transport. In RDR1 when my horse died it really didn’t matter that much as I could just wait a few minutes and whistle a new one. I also really didn’t see any incentive in going and buying a new horse. A horse was a horse and they all did the same job no matter the breed.

I've noticed in the screenshot below there is a wanted poster on the wall. Do you think this indicates the return of bounty hunting or is it simply there for decoration? edit: On second look i'm pretty sure it says 'reward'

Rather than having to keep installing/uninstalling games all the time i'm thinking of getting a hard drive. i've found this one https://www.amazon.co.uk/Seagate-Game-Drive-Portable-External/dp/B01065S79E but it seems pricey. What does everyone else use, if any?

Both me and my OH are gamers but have different taste in games, he is more into online FPS - PUBG etc and does not care much for graphics, whereas I prefer single player, open world, visually pretty games. I couldn't believe when we met and he said he didn't like Grand Theft Auto games. I guess its just down to personal taste. Maybe seeing RDR2 in all its glory will change his mind!

Its difficult to predict. If i had to put money on it, I would say 2nd or 3rd week of September, as this is roughly halfway between the first trailers release and the games release date (this is presuming that there is only going to be one more trailer before release). BUT, whether Rockstar would be working towards that schedule nobody knows. They could do it next week, or a week before the game comes out.

I loved State of Decay 1 but can’t seem to get into State of Decay 2. I keep finding myself creating new communities, building them up to a point, then I just get bored after a few hours and either start again or switch off. The annoying glitches aren’t helping either. Is anyone else playing/played State of Decay 2? What do you think to it?

I was thinking along those lines. Like there might be a kitchen area in camp with a cook, so you just drop it off there.

On the gameplay trailer, when Arthur is carrying a deer back to camp, it appears to be un-skinned, or is it just me?

I’m going to throw in Christmas to the list. Yeah its great when you’re a kid and get loads of presents but once you’re past that stage its just 6 weeks of hype building up to one day and is over before you know it.

Seeing Seth’s demise from business man with a family to dirty psychotic graverobber would make him a really interesting character to re-visit and learn the backstory to. I guess with the games being set just 12 years apart there are endless possibilities of RDR1 characters we could encounter.

Personally I like letting the story take me around the map and spending some time exploring each area as and when I get to it. I find it adds to the excitement of the game when you look at the map and think “I’ve still got all this to uncover”. Progressing the story naturally also opens up more things to do along the way. For example, I would imagine there will be a mission at some point that will introduce you to hunting and fishing. You may not unlock the various activities until you have completed the tutorial missions.

Correct me if i'm wrong but I don't think this has been suggested yet, but what if Arthur fakes his own death? John says that he was 'left for dead' during the robbery, but what if he wasn't? Arthur could have found John shot down and helps him to escape with his family. John is indebted to Arthur for the rest of his life and thats why he never speaks of him in RDR1, as he promised never to reveal that Arthur is alive. We could see Arthur riding off into the sunset and at that point we take over playing as John.

Based on what you have seen so far from the first gameplay trailer, what three things are you currently most looking forward to doing in the game? For me its: Exploring camp and getting to know the various gang members Getting a horse and forming a bond with my horses Admiring the beauty of the various landscapes
