I agree about the money thing. In RDR it was far too easy to make money and there wasn’t a great deal to spend it on. Guns were given to you freely as the game progressed, ammo could easily be looted from dead bodies and there was no real incentive to go and buy a rare breed horse as they served no special purpose. It sounds like this may change in RDR2 and there will be a lot more worthwhile to spend money on e.g. camp and gun upgrades, clothes, horse equipment etc. In regards to the sex, it wouldn’t bother me either way if it was included or not. I guess it didn’t make sense for John Marston to sleep with prostitutes as he was a married man and a ‘good’ guy. Arthur may be more free to do what he pleases in terms of that, although we don’t know what his relationship with Sadie is yet.

You know what i've just realised, the clocks go back on the 28th October, so thats one whole extra hour of RDR2 gaming time! (for us UK folks anyway)

I'm not quite sure what to think. On one hand i'm pissed off that they made us wait nearly two months for a gameplay trailer that revealed absolutely nothing that hasn't already been confirmed by previous trailers or hands on previews. On the other hand I feel like it may be a blessing in disguise as too much info can spoil the gameplay experience. Oh well. Only 24 days to go!

I think if you are in danger like in the middle of a shootout you can tell your horse to leave to stop it from getting harmed. I'm quite looking forward to the whole horse bonding thing, the fact that your horse is actually your companion that needs caring for rather than being just a disposable mode of transport that will respawn. It all adds to the realism.

Red Dead Redemption 2 Install Size, Timed Exclusivity Revealed
debbo89 replied to Lonestar's topic in Red Dead Redemption 2
Yikes! I was thinking of getting an external hard drive anyway, I knew this was going to be a huge game. -
I read that too. One of the first things i'm doing is going straight to the grizzlies and checking to see if my horse balls have shrunk lol

I can usually tell very quickly after meeting someone if I like them or not. I’m an introvert and find it difficult in large social groups. I try to avoid them mostly but sometimes its not always possible. There’s always one idiot who takes it upon themselves to belittle you in front of everyone, usually with a “you’re quiet aren’t you?” comment or similar. These are the kind of people I hate and try to avoid. I’m much more comfortable in smaller social groups or one on one interaction and have a select few people who I socialise with.

I do prefer warmer weather although I sit in an office all day at work so whatever the weather is doing outside it doesn’t really affect me for the best part of the day. My garden looks prettier in summer too. I don’t really mind any kind of weather apart from strong winds. I can take rain, snow or a heatwave any day but I really do hate the wind!

I agree that unless there is something specific to do and/or find inside buildings then it would be pointless. I don’t want and wouldn’t spend time exploring empty buildings. On another note if Rockstar are going for realism then there surely would have to be some restrictions, like you can’t just wander into everyone’s houses, you would need to 'break in'. I always found it amusing in the Witcher 3 that you could walk into everyone’s homes, loot their house bare then just leave without them so much as batting an eyelid.

You think they will improve the weather system?
debbo89 replied to GatoNegro's topic in Red Dead Redemption 2
I think at a minimum they will include some random rain and then there will be snow in the mountainous areas. It would be cool if there was thunder storms, imagine how beautiful it would be having flashes of lighting appear over the horizon. -
They might have the odd one-liner dropped into dialogue with some of the characters. Uncle, for example, in his bio it says "If he wasn’t so entertaining, Dutch would have cut him loose years ago." so i'm expecting him to be one of the more comedic characters. Humour is not really something I look for in a game though personally.

Mixed Feelings about gameplay video drops before launch.
debbo89 replied to Fribbo's topic in Red Dead Redemption 2
I've stopped trying to guess when they will release it only to feel let down. It will release when they are ready to release it and then the hype can go into overdrive again. Theres only so many 'everything we know so far' or '10 things from the trailer' videos I can watch. -
Mixed Feelings about gameplay video drops before launch.
debbo89 replied to Fribbo's topic in Red Dead Redemption 2
They should have released it already. The game is less than 6 weeks away and its got to the point where the wait is bearable now. Of course I will watch it when it comes out but at this stage i'm not bothered and I could wait another 6 weeks without anything. -
How are YOU preparing for release in October?
debbo89 replied to Cokeyskunk's topic in Red Dead Redemption 2
It always helps when you have other things to be excited about. I am going away with the family at the end of September, its only a long weekend, but its for my dads 60th so there is 6 of us going and renting one of those luxury lodges with the hot tub so I’m really looking forward to that. After that though I’ve got nothing so October is going to drag! -
I really liked that in the Witcher 3 and glad to see it implemented into RDR. Makes me wonder how far they will go with realism. Like, we saw in the trailer that mud sticks to him when he was rolling around during the fight scene. Will that mud stay on his clothes until he changes them? Will he need to go for a swim in order to get clean? All this speculation is getting me so hyped!

If you can pick up a cheap 3DS then some of the sixth gen games are really worth it (X/Y, Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire, Sun/Moon), the gameplay has come a long way since the older games.

There hasn't really been any indication as to how much control we will have of Arthurs appearance and clothing. The trailers show Arthur wearing the same blue shirt in pretty much every cut scene, albeit in different forms, such as with a jacket or duster coat. This make me wonder whether we will be able to customise what he wears, or whether we will just have a number of set outfits we can select from like in RDR1. On the other hand, it has been said that when Arthur loses his hat during a shootout, he will lose it forever and will have to buy/find a new one. If hats are purchasable from shops then perhaps other items of clothing will be, such as shirts and trousers?

Are you happy RDR2 has a single protagonist?
debbo89 replied to GatoNegro's topic in Red Dead Redemption 2
I’m happy its only one protag to be honest. It worked well with the story in GTA5 as each character linked up with another and you unlocked them one by one as the story progressed. In RDR they are all in the same gang, leading the same lifestyle and all know each other from the start. Plus, how many gang members are there? 15 plus? How would they determine which ones you play as? Anyway I ended up finding it a bit annoying switching between characters on GTA5, to find they had changed outfits or were somewhere random on the map in the middle of nowhere. I am actually really looking forward to playing as Arthur. I just hope we get some sort of customisation for his clothing. The clothing in RDR 1 was terrible and most of it had to be unlocked. -
RDR2 will have a more realistic economy
debbo89 replied to BelleStarr's topic in Red Dead Redemption 2
I am glad to see it introduced too. I think it will add to the enjoyment if you have to save up for something that you want to buy. In RDR1 I bought property just for the hell of it because I had loads of money with nothing else really to spend it on. It would be more realistic and add to the immersiveness for you to have to go hunting for a few bears to get extra cash to save up for that new horse or gun you want to buy. -
Is Josiah Trelawny the Strange Man?
debbo89 replied to TheBaconator's topic in Red Dead Redemption 2
It could very well be. The Strange Man did seem to indicate that he had had some form of previous encounter with John. -
No news on an upcoming gameplay video for this week?
debbo89 replied to Fribbo's topic in Red Dead Redemption 2
Rockstar have 'unpinned' their tweet for the gameplay trailer part 1. Could this mean we will get part 2 today/tomorrow? -
I haven't seen any bloaty head guys yet, but there are people with tiny turtle heads!

If you enjoyed Theme Hospital I would definitely recommend getting Two Point Hospital. Its the same developers as TH but under a different name. Same concept i.e. you are the hospital administrator and have to build, hire, etc but upgraded mechanics and graphics etc. Couple of bugs here and there, with patients getting stuck in rooms etc but its only just been released so hopefully they'll iron those out soon.
-
The activities that are already confirmed are, i think, fishing, hunting, dueling, poker (plus other games?), bounty hunting. The trailer said about rival gangs, so i'm guessing we will be able to infiltrate their bases like in RDR1. I would imagine horse racing and horse breaking will also be re-introduced given the much upgraded horse mechanics. Maybe bar fighting, like in Witcher 3 where you could brawl for money and become the champ? i guess we'll learn more about the side activities in the next trailer.

I know its not everyones cup of tea, but I downloaded the new Two Point Hospital game from steam on Friday and have to say I am really enjoying it. If you played the original Theme Hospital then this is basically a remake of that. It still has all the silly/quirky patient illnesses. If you enjoyed the original then I would recommend giving this a go.
