What could the reason be behind waiting to release the game on Steam?
Cliffs replied to Coyote's topic in Red Dead Online
Well, seeing as we can't preorder on Steam yet, maybe Steam saw the writing on the wall from other AAA games having crappy launches, they wanted to wait and see and from the looks of things...good call by Steam? -
If you are playing the multiplayer part of this game (as in online) then of course you need internet. he means the story mode offline.
-
Ok then, I tried. Good luck as you seem to be the only one with this problem right now.
-
Turn off your internet and find out?

Does anyone know how much this game will be on Steam If we don't prepurchase should it not be cheaper?

2 second google search How to Change Key Binds and Controls On PC There has been some confusion over the method of changing key binds in Red Dead Redemption 2, though it’s quite simple once you know where to look. You cannot change them from the start menu, only while in-game. Press Pause, and then go to Settings, Controls, and then Keyboard and Mouse. From here you can change your Key Mapping.

I feel for those who are having problems but this is another reason why I usually wait on buying a heavily ported console game. There are always bugs.

From a different game: Works for some. I know you tried Alt/Tab already fixing the bug 1. It is actually very simple, all you have to do when your mouse cursor is in the game is to simple press ALT+TAB and go back to your desktop. 2. ALT+TAB again in to your game once (the game window should be filled with darkness). 3. Use your mouse and move it in to the middle of your screen, if you see it there, that means that the mouse will be visible in game. 4. Move your mouse to the outside of the game screen ( i prefer right edge, don't ask why). 5. click once, move your mouse back in to the middle of the screen. If you dont see your mouse cursor, then you are good to go. 6. ALT+TAB in to your game. if it has not worked repeat from step 1.

So who here is getting the PC version of the game?
Cliffs replied to KVNknowsbest's topic in Red Dead Online
I am waiting until the game is stable on most pcs and I also am waiting to see how the script kiddies (improperly called hackers) attack the game. Not going to get a game that was full of the nonsense we had with grievers and such on console mevermind on the pc, "the games" these idiots can play with the games we enjoy. -
Beta testing should have caught this.
-
Do you have both mouse and controller plugged in at same time?
-
From grievers on console to hackers on pc is a huge reason a lot of people do not/will not play this game online.

If Rdr2 O is the same as GTAO the game is doomed
Cliffs replied to AndrewChar98's topic in Red Dead Online
Since the OP doesn't play the game why is he complaining about it coming out on pc? Because of hackers? -
Cannot wait but...we have to. Anyone know the price(s) yet?
-
There are going to be 1,000s downloading the update in a couple days, I might wait a day or two.

With seasoned big game meat and the right tonics a player can almost become a god. Huge reason why I don't play online much anymore. You all want to hunt and fish and be left alone yet there are these abilities to become something that never existed in the wild west. Take away all these "god like" abilities and let the best players win. I know a lot of you are going to scream at me but could not care less as we all play the way we want.

I like both of the responses to mine....

Did not Billy the Kid and Butch Cassidy and all those other outlaws rob banks? That would be a great "career" to introduce to the game. Those outlaw lived looking over their shoulders...that's what I see this game as...bad guys versus good guys. Imagine your gang being pursued by a posse. You have to set up camp, put out lookouts. The posse has to track you down because hopefully there aren't any little blue/red dots telling everybody where you are. That would be immersion. The posse would have to interact with other players and ask them if they have seen the gang you seek...oh the story lines. Maybe only have bounty hunters and lawmen being able to track you down, not everybody on the map.

I think the reason we don't see this anymore is what genre would you like to see? Too many games have been made and it is hard to come out with a block buster IMHO

Have any of you ever asked yourselves why the buffalo were almost wiped out of existence? Well, the way some of you hunt in this game is truly the answer. I am not putting any of you down for your gameplay style just making a candid comment about the buffalo.

Having wagons fully loaded actually brings another "job" to the game, bodyguards/mercenaries/outriders or whatever word we can use for those who hire themselves out to protect your product. Just like some of the missions we do and have to fight off those that would take our wagons, yes?

Yes it is and thank you for the link

It is a pretty good look at what Rockstar wants to do.

Hit a nerve did I? Running somebody out of a server is griefing, why not just leave it yourself rather than ATTACK another player for over 30 minutes? FTR, I don't grief and for that matter hardly go online anymore as it is boring as hell when you have to play as farmer Joe or fisherman harry.
