Arthur vs John

What are your thoughts between the two character's personal stories and struggles?

I find myself feeling more in tune with Arthur after having completed the story. John's story felt more impactful in RDR than it does now for me having seen the "before". Arthur felt like the guy that made John who he became. A family man who put his priorities in check. Throughout story we see John constantly fly off the handle or at least come close to it and Arthur is kind of there to set him straight. It is like he molded him into being the character we loved so much in the first game. Maybe this is just me but I am curious to see what you guys think.

I feel Arthur's voice acting much more realistic and artistic - much more in tone with his circumstances as well.  John's acting seems king of middle ground, not bad, not good. Just..so so...

 

I hope they add new game plus so I can rejoin ARthur once again...lol

Honestly, Arthur Morgan was just a great character, and I actually liked him so much more than John Marston. Don't get me wrong, he's still a good character, but Arthur Morgan was just so good, the voice acting, the story, everything about Arthur was pure legend.

Arthur Morgan is my favourite by far. When going into this game I was certain that no one could be as cool and interesting as John, I was so wrong! Arthur Morgan’s story is just so well played out and the voice acting is just phenomenal. I really wish for a new game + because I want to play the entire story and all side quests again with Arthur with all of my customized weapons and clothes.

I went into this game feeling like I would hate Arthur but seeing how he made Marston the man he was in part 2 (or RDR) made me have respect for him in the story.

Not only that, but he felt more raw and real. I actually ended up liking Arthur WAY more than I thought I would.

Same for me, and I agree.

I still like John more overall but Arthur certainly is up there with my top favorite characters from Rockstar games. I'd likely pin him in 3rd or 4th overall.
