POSSIBLE SPOILER - Invisible voice

So last night I was heading to strawberry.....

From Beechers Hope, I came across what appeared to be an abandoned school, looked like it'd been burnt down, there are graves surrounding outside it, I got off my horse and started looking around for things to look and I heard a woman say 'when are you going to let me go' to which a man replied something along the lines of 'sshh woman be quiet be quiet'. 

Now I looked at the mini map and surroundings to see if id possibly come across a new random encounter but couldn't see anything. I didn't hear anymore dialogue between the two and couldn't find any other clues. Has anybody else heard this too?? If you don't know the location I'm referring to to I'll post an image. I've been browsing the forums for a while, and haven't seen anyone mention this, so I thought I'd finally make an account and ask! Cheers!

When investigated did you run into a trap or predator of any sort? 

There are faceless voices in the swamps north of St. Denis that when investigated lead you to gators or some other sort of peril. I just attributed it to the voodoo/haunted lore of the region. Perhaps this is the same....

Thanks for the reply!! I was thinking something similar but there was absolutely nothing around me, I stayed there for a good while looking about but nothing, I'm going to go back there shortly to see if I can hear this again

I have been riding and have reached points where I hear voices and there be no one around.  I have also seen red dots of predators appear on my map and there be nothing there to shoot.

Snakes do that to me all the time. 

Ride by and they pop up red, turn around quick and can't find anything. They're quick little bastards.

99 times out of 100, that ends up being a snake in the grass.  Every once in awhile, it's a black bear, at least in my experience.  But unless I'm in 1st person mode, it's almost impossible to track the snake down without using Eagle Eye AND getting lucky.

Given the knack for the paranormal this game has sprinkled throughout, I wouldn't be surprised if this becomes a form of DLC in the future.  There's been a LOT of creepy/weird stuff that I've come across, like

and other users have reported weird stuff, like

The ghost train, ufo's, and the taxidermist house with the chimera near the Van Horn Trading Post.

So it's not out of the realm of possibility that it's a yet-unfinished questline for later.

Took me forever to get the 2 perfect snake skins i needed.  They're fairly easy to find in tracking mode, but they do move fast.  i found it was easier to run up to them and have them strike at you, or get bit usually, and then they will coil up and sit waiting for you to shoot them.  Just make sure you have ginseng on hand   My Arthur's legs probably look like pin cushions now as many times as i've gotten him bit.

What i don't get, is even after studying the snakes before killing them, they always show up in tracking as "unknown animal".

Literally every snake I've seen has been a different variety.  Drives me batty.

It wouldn't surprise me either, definitely a DLC id enjoy, spent a lot of time roaming round looking for paranormal type Easter eggs such as the ones you've mentioned. Wouldn't say no to more. I've been back there today, heard no voices this time, couldn't see anything using eagle eye either

That's not surprising.  Eagle Eye is far from perfect.  If anything, it needs a way to be leveled to provide additional sensitivity and range, because as it stands now, it's only true use is when you're literally RIGHT ON TOP of an animal trail, or in a building looking for stuff to loot.

There is a section of the forest (forget where) that is haunted and you can hear voices regardless of the time of the day, also there are several ghosts in Lemoyne including one that actually appears and has a cool story if you keep going back to it.

Has it been confirmed there are "haunted areas" in the game cause I have heard them too. Not very often and not in every location but enough for me to think it was a glitch or something. Sometimes I can make out what they are saying and other times I can't.

Found an abandoned cemetery up on a small  hill, can't remember where exactly, i was hauling arse from hunting to Strawberry to do the horseman challenge.  Wandered around there looking at the gravestones, but when it turned dark nothing happened.  Was hoping that may be one of the haunted locations, but maybe i didn't wait long enough.
