As someone who owns a 6700K/GTX1070 combo PC, the price point is impressive if it can maintain native 4K@60 on most major titles.  This has yet to be confirmed for any games other than Forza 7, but for the sake of comparison, my current PC will render 4K, however not without limitations, ie. lowering graphical settings, lower framerates, etc.  And keep in mind, my PC cost me at least $800 for the CPU and GPU alone, not including other components.  So this is why I think the $499 price point is competitive, especially if you trade in your current XB1 for it; then you're effectively looking at $400.

There's articles about comparing it to an RX580, but even then it's difficult to compare numbers exclusively because the console is a dedicated gaming APU.  Whereas, the PC has dedicated components.  We won't know until we can truly test the hardware in-hand.

Either way, I'll be picking one up as an upgrade to my ugly VCR-style XB1.  :P

How are the d-pads these days on the XBOX controllers? I only ask because I still use a 360 controller every now and then on my PC and to be honest the thing just sucks (the d-pad that is). Probably warrants a new topic altogether like "XBOX controller vs Playstation controller" but given the choice I'd rather use my PS3 controller.

Anyway let's see how the games pan out, exclusives will win me over but I haven't seen anything yet to make me say "I really WANTS it!". I did watch the Crackdown 3 trailer as I always wanted to play the original when it released way back then but I have say the trailer actually turned me off more then it did on. Forza, sure looks good but a console seller for me personally.

So fellow gamers, what are the games that are going to really sell someone on this that I've missed?

A huge improvement from the 360.  The d-pad has a tactile and clicky feel, unlike the 360's.  Also, the triggers are super soft w/ minimum resistance, so very good for racing games.  Other than that, you'll just have to get used to the bumpers.  There in an odd position.

Too expensive going it but when it drops, it will be worth it. I am with you all who have said the controllers are better for Xbox. Since the 360 game out, they have been the best around. I would even prefer them over the most expensive competitors that target gamers (like FPS gamers).

Console gaming has improved a lot and while they are no where near matching a gaming PC, they are at least heading in that direction. PC gaming will always be a step above and beyond them though which is why a lot of people stopped bothering with caring about the details or specs and just buy the games for exclusives. Even if I became a PC die-hard, I would still get the current consoles for the console only games I want to play. Graphics aren't that important to me.

Thanks for that! I've heard a lot of people say that they prefer the XBox Controller over the Playstation one and with the 360 vs the PS3 controller I just couldn't see why with that d-pad so it sounds like they at least overcame that with the Xbox one controller.

Now that my analog stick has started sticking every now and then too (it then keeps panning the camera in GTA V) I think it might be time to try out an XBONE controller for my PC.
