They decided to throw in a motion sensor on the ****ing lights in the bathroom at work. The dumb asses decided to set it for 15 minutes...

Today (for the second time) that ****ing light turned off at the worst time... Of course I can't just wave my hand above the door and trigger it, I have to open the ****ing stall door and step out...

WHO THE **** CAME UP WITH THIS?!?!

I'm about to go tell them to change the time or else they can pay me to go home for my sh*t breaks...

15 minutes is more than enough time to use the bathroom at work... Problem is, the sensor might not reset. So if someone goes in 10 minutes before you, you might only have 5 minutes. That seems a bit ridiculous. Why not just have a sensor that works on the floor of the stalls so if the one goes out on the outside, you still have a lighted tile or something?

Why would you want something like this in a bathroom? To save some money on electricity? I think people don't understand how light works. It actually costs more to turn lights on and off several times a day than to just leave them on for 8 hours straight. Also, we have energy efficient bulbs now that don't take much at all to power.

Same thing with engines, computers and some other things. Better to run it a long time than to keep turning it on and off. It's probably why blenders seem to go bad quick

Typically, yes. I'm sure we've all had certain occasions where that might not be enough time though.

We just replaced them all too. It was some ComEd promo. Now there are TWO lights in there that take up less power than my phone probably does.

It's also in the women's room, but that's a single toilet room. There's no stall to block the sensor...

I browse the forums at my table for your information!

I think I was watching some stupid videos on you're or something lol

I'm honestly not sure how much longer I'll be working here anyway. I sort of called them on their bluff and was absolutely correct. They always told me they had plans for me, now I realize that was just to get me to do all the sh*t nobody else wanted to do. I really feel like a fool...

My last job told me they had plans for me too. I ended up picking up the slack for 3 other workers and never got a raise for it. I told them to stick the position where the sun don't shine soon as I found another job. Just start looking now. Sounds like they want to take advantage of you.

Pssst, It takes more energy to start a ballast then it does to keep it on for days. Our can is turned on in the morning, and shut off at night.

They installed something like this where I work. Ended up breaking in 3 months time and they went back to the ones that are on a timer for 12 hours a day. Give it time.
