Bounties

I have a question about bounties. Whilst I try to maintain a good honour on the scale I occasionally commit pointless, childish, but fun infractions of the law. By and large this is when I greet a stranger in the arse end of nowhere and he's rude to me. My reaction sometimes is to lasso him, rag him round a bit by riding at high speed and then releasing him. I  did this the other night but someone witnessed and reported it. I rode off pretty sharpish and was well out of the red zone even before the meter started counting down. Moments later I had a $5 bounty on my head. My Arthur wasn't personally identified as the perpetrator so why I'm wondering how I ended up with a bounty?

The people in the area aren't stupid, if you've committed a crime in that area before, and didn't change your outfit, or wear a bandanna/mask, they know who you are, so the one reporting the crime will turn you in.  If you're working on maxing out the white honor, change your clothes often, always wear a mask/bandanna when doing anything that could be reported as a crime.

Bounties can be fickle.   I started my 1st run and couldn't sneeze without a bounty.  I wore a mask and changed clothes often.  I got high priced bounties all the time.

2nd time, only bounties I get are the ones I deserve.  Now you are going to ask what I am doing different.  Not a thing.  There will be players that say this isn't true, but it is and I'm not the only one who experienced this.

Now my son, who plays on his own xbox.  Has shot people in town and never got a bounty.  Not sure what happened, but it was totally different gaming experience.

You trying to be honorable might not be that big of an issue. I eventually maxed out my honor all the way to being maximum honorable recently. Got the trophy for it. The trophy is earned by maximizing it either as honorable or dishonorable. This was around the beginning of Chapter 6. I've mostly been playing the good guy. But occasionally will do bad guy stuff. Especially when I was working on some of the Bandit Challenges. There are also many other random things in game that allow you to raise your honor rating. Unless you are trying to do it by a certain time, I wouldn't worry about it.
