Lendary Fish just West of St. Denis by the railroad tracks.

I need help with this one.  I have tried fishing for him on a boat and from all the shores.  I get no bites.  I fish for him from the tracks, I get a bite almost everytime, but the train always comes through while I am fighting to reel him in.  So how do you get him?

I almost feel like trains are a myth in this game, as I see them so rarely, so I can only assume you're spending a lot of time reeling in the fish.

The train tracks are going to be your best bet, though.  It really shouldn't take more than a few minutes to reel him in if you're using the advanced technique of pulling up repeatedly on the rod.  Once I learned this technique, legendary fish became very easy to catch.  If you're not familiar with it, just move the left analog stick down repeatedly while reeling in at the same time.  It feels kind of like patting your head and rubbing your stomach at the same time, but I'm able to do it by just looking at the controller and not the screen.

Thanks, I got the techniques down.  It's just seems trains will come by if I try to stand on them too long.  On one occasion, I waited till the train passed.  I stepped forward to fish and it took a few seconds to get the fish to latch on and was reeling it in and another train came a long and killed me.  I am positive that train could not have made it around the map and cameback that fast.

Try a boat.  One usually spawns out by the Saint Denis docks.  I think a canoe may also spawn by the dock area behind Caliga Hall.

Tried the boat, and couldn't get anything to bite.  Same with the shoreline.  Got on the tracks and could get it it to bite.

yep, stand just on the edge rail, the wooden rail not the train track rail, right in the middle of the river.  Cast out about half way towards the lake, caught him on my first cast, had one train go passed.  I had to inch forward at an angle to get on that rail, i kept stepping off the edge into the river walking straight at it.
