Yeah, no worries. A bit harsh on the criticism although I'll admit the thought of seeing a squirrel on meth might be the funniest thing I would ever see in my life. 2
madfretter Posted December 27, 2018 Author Posted December 27, 2018 So, since I had a few days off and played a bit of RDR2, I decided to try an experiment on griefing. To see if it wasn't as bad as I thought. Admittedly, I only did this because the rest of my posse were sleeping like normal people. I hunted small game and fished until I saw someone near a butcher. Then I would shoot a deer and head there to sell it. I did this 35 times. During this time I visited every butcher on the map, rode into town without guns drawn and changed sessions after each event. Of the 35 times; I was shot as I approached the butcher 8 times (like up the street), shot another 6 times when I dismounted my horse in front of the butcher and another 12 times just after I sold which to me means I got into the menu too quick for them. My horse was also killed like 5 times during this. I have to say that 9 peaceful transactions out of 35 aren't good enough odds for me to trust people dwelling right next to the butcher. Normally if I'm riding somewhere and I see people in my path, I alter it to avoid a possible confrontation. The way I hunt/sell now allows me to avoid most confrontations, but constantly having to go out of my way just to play a game is silly. This is manageable while traveling, but selling at the butcher doesn't give even us that option, unless we are willing to riding out of our way. I almost wish there was an option to have Kripps sell your pelts at 50% of the normal value. 1
Poggy Posted December 27, 2018 Posted December 27, 2018 I agree the odds are terrible and it's not a good way to play the game. Easy possible solutions would be: 1 You don't lose stuff on your horse when you die 2 They add a couple more butchers across the map 3 Trappers are added, and they and Cripps have the ability to craft perfect pelts 4 Anyone who kills another player or horse has a 'hostile' map symbol for a set time period 5 Town NPC law reacts quickly and strongly to any firearm use, or even display, near stores and butchers 6 Only hostile and inactive PCs appear on the map 7 If you kill three different PCs, or the same PC three times, in quick succession you are moved to a different server 8 The parley system affects a whole posse, not just an individual.

All good suggestions. Question about one of them: "Trappers are added, and they and Cripps have the ability to craft perfect pelts". Cripps crafting perfect pelts. What did you mean by this? Like you could give him 5 poor pelts to make one perfect? 1
Poggy Posted December 27, 2018 Posted December 27, 2018 I meant Crips could turn perfect pelts into clothing

People that play like this are the easy marks that breed and encourage griefers. If you feel the need to stand around, at least do it in a store or somewhere away from people. Griefers breed griefers. If a player wants to PvP, then they need separate servers like in the 1st RDR and let the PvE players have their servers. That way there won't be no excuses for griefing.

These auto-aim idiots can't hang in a lobby with people looking to PVP though. lol
madfretter Posted December 31, 2018 Author Posted December 31, 2018 (edited) May have found another: I ran over a friend while going into my camp, he died., When I went to use the lock box in my camp I got a message that said "you've recently caused harm to a player or their horse, please return later when shops are open for you. Made me wait like ten minutes. Edited December 31, 2018 by madfretter
