Skrylaxx
YES! Well, that is what my brain is saying. I have played almost all Rockstar has had to offer and Red Dead Redemption was my favorite with a close second being LA Noire. I feel like RDR has enough of a fan base with the capability of bringing in even more fans to surpass GTAV. I like the GTA games, don't get me wrong but I play video games to escape reality and being in a different time period appeals to me WAY more. What do you think? SNIP3XL
Well, I am a HUGE GTA fan so pretty torn here. I think it will be VERY hard to beat GTA V. I mean, the game has sold over 75 million copies, that is freaking crazy. If Rockstar can manage to sell even 50 million copies of RDR2 I think they would be very happy. GTA is a very well known game franchise, Red Dead, not so much. BUT, maybe this is their chance to turn it into such a well-known franchise. We shall see, but I think regardless, the odds are against RDR2 "beating" GTA V.
UKSammy84
It might be a better game (in fact it will surely be given everything Rockstar must have learned with GTA V and GTA Online) but will they beat GTA V in terms of sales? No, absolutely not. 75-80 million copies sold is just too many.
Hazed0NE
Will it be a better game? Yes. But I do not think it will beat out GTA. There is a huge fan base there that have never even played any of their other games. I guess time will tell but they will have to fight to beat them out.
NicNak
I want to say yes just because we have no idea what we are in store for and because I never actually played GTA games before but I do know how popular the games are with people so I am leaning to no. It is hard to say right now. We will see in time!

RDR2 will be cooler, but damn, 75 million copies sold is tough to beat! Especially with zero marketing.

Archbell
I love the Grand Theft Auto Series and I enjoyed GTA V a great deal but I felt in some areas it was a huge step backwards and overall I preferred Red Dead Redemption's epic tale of John Marston over the GTA V Story, I played GTA V's Story through including Side Missions twice but in my opinion due to there being three playable protagonists non of them felt as 3-Dimensional or fleshed out as John Marston was in Red Dead Redemption. I think GTA Online was a great success as well as a huge step for Rockstar and it has some undeniable advances over RDR's Multiplayer but I personally enjoyed RDR's Multiplayer a whole lot more than GTA Online for a countless number of reasons, too many to list here. I doubt that RDR 2 will beat GTA V in sales but if it's anywhere near as good as RDR it will be a better game in my eyes.
