VICKSUN
Last game we seen mostly desert areas with some forests and snow areas mixed in. I think it was a nice mix but I would have preferred a little less desert. Maybe I am alone here but it felt like it took longer to travel without fast travel when in the main desert areas, specially neat Mexico.
Alborghetti
Judging by the trailer, I think we won't see any desert areas this time. They said the game will take place in "America's unforgiving heartland". There is no consensus as to "where" America's heartland is physically located. However, the American Midwest is the most commonly cited area as being the nation's heartland, although many other places have been referred to as part of it, often extending to rural or farming regions in the great plains.

Oh God I hope you are right! This means we will see SO much more. The north was more "developed" in those times and had a lot more drama going on. Considering I live in Michigan it would be interesting to see what part's of the state's history they include in the game. Benjo
Before anyone gets too excited about what R$ promise, they said that GTA V would have a bigger map in terms of explorable areas than GT IV and RDR combined. 60% of that, it turned out, was underwater and completely useless. Yup. That is the thing. We can't get happy yet. I would like them to share a map or something soon. Maybe another trailer revealing some of the characters talking as well. Benjo
R$ have a standard format for releasing information: Trailer 1: Short preview with voiceover. Trailer 2: Example cutscenes but no gameplay. Trailer 3: More cutscenes with (most likely) cinematic gameplay. They never really show proper HUD gameplay, and they never release map information. I was going to say I don't recall them showing the map at all for RDR2. I think we will get some in-tell on the story in the next trailer but likely won't see any gameplay till closer to the release if any real gameplay at all. Looney Dan
I would imagine this one is up north slightly more so more wooded areas and towns. I still think there will be open dry spaces assuming they allow the map to be big enough.
