level 7 to 55 now what?

Well to me a griefer wasnt a scary threat, lol they were unnecessary A holes, that distracted me from what I wanted to do and made me have to deal with them.

It is not how the game works, it is how some players want it to work while others do not, so I didnt learn anything other than b e prepared for the worst and you will always be ok.

Here is an example, the other night I was hunting, near Heartland overflow, I was about to head out, after skinning a deer, I saw the train coming and someone was riding it so I decided to posture myself in case this person was an opportunist looking for trouble.

as they approached and the train slowed I saw him, he saw me, I was behind my horse Lancaster in hand and ready to go, I talked to him for a minute, said hello, etc..  and then he appeared to go back to what he was doing without answering me and so I decided , ok I am going to head out as planned, as I go to leave and turn my back bullets come flying my my head, so I spin around, kill him then run off because my horse is full, I dont feel like playing with another person at this moment, I just cleared 3 or 4 hideouts, etc.. I just want to get my catch to the butcher and buy something I have been grinding for.

anyway, because I am a blue dot, and he is glowing red after I ran away, a long way toward where I was going, I figured ok I am far enough away, Ill go back to hunting my way to the butcher, I went from Emerald station to Clemmens point I think it is, north of St Denis, anyway while skinning a few birds, here comes numbnuts and bullets flying, rather than get my gun, I grabbed my mic, I said, dude, we already did this, I am not here for your enjoyment, just because you are bored and have nobody to play with doesnt mean you get to follow me around the map trying to get me to engage you, take off, find someone else to bother or go play pvp but leave me alone, I am not in the mood nor do I have time for this, (it was very late) 

Ok, so in the time I said that he shot me, lol I dont care, so I said , ok, feel better? now split dude, seriously I am not looking for a buddy to play with, if you want to go shot everything up, play pvp, or go clear a hideout or shoot some npc's but seriously get away from me, I am hunting, grinding, working toward something I want, and I dont appreciate you bothering me and distracting me from that.

Well long story short this went on so long I had to leave the session or just keep fighting and killing this guy,

That guy was a bored ass who was determined to keep bugging me, so I left.

I take that personally, my time is mine, I dont want to stop what I am doing because you are bored and want to play with someone, this is why your alone now, you are just an ass, etc..

And people who say that is the game and how it is I disagree, it doesnt have to be that way, only short sighted shoot em up peopel with nothing better to do are like that, usually they are just bored opportunist who wont shoot at a fair fight, but rather ambush or be sneaky etc..

Well anyway this guy and this type are more of a bother than anything that I fear, I can easily kill him, and I did a few times, then I just ignored him, and eventually had to jump servers so I could hunt in peace again.

So my point is, I didnt "grow some balls" I wasnt scared of griefers I was irritated and I dont like people forcing themselves on me, if you attack once and I say lol ok good one, now piss off, then seriously back up and go away, but when they are persistent I get irritated.

If I wanted to play with some stranger, who takes cheap shots at your back after making it appear you are safe, no threat here, I dont want anything to do with a guy like that, a coward, back shooting jerk.
I know he was bored and desperate for someone to play with, even after all this he typed to me saying I want to make it up to you, accept my invite, lol I Said no way, just go away, why woudl I want to talk to you more,? I got away from you, I dont want to get back with you, lol besides your bored, probaboy have no friends and are just looking for anyone to interact with, well thats not me, has you asked me, or said something when I tried to talk to you on the train then yeah maybe we could have done a few things together but not now, I wouldnt play with you for anything now.

He said, we can play a story mission over that will let us hunt in peace and make good XP, lol so see he was looking for someone to join him, even after being a douche to me, and having this whole text fight, lol he still wanted to play so bad he was sending me invites over and over.

I just kept telling him nope, I dont play with toxic players who shot hunters in free roam for no reason from behind when they had a chance and ignored it, I wouldnt team up with someone like that, so no.

He got so mad when I called him that he said, "I never do that, 99.99% of the time I never do that" lol

I said so what, you did it to me, so as far as I am concerned you are a bright red blip because you attack people for no reason, you did it 100% of the times I saw you, and I just saw how you roll.
 I saw you on that train, I could have shot first, but I didnt, I left you alone to do whatever you are doing, but not you, you saw me and thought, oh good  finally someone I can get to play with me, but I didnt want to play with you, I killed you and moved on, etc..

So to me, all that is a huge waste of my time, exhausting and I do not like it.and it is a matter of principle at that point.

If it were just a guy shooting at me, those are easy, shoot back, and kill them, usually they leave after you kill them 2 or 3 times, but this guy was just a low down, back shooting coward and it really irritated me.

 

So, I didnt need to grow some balls, I just dont like to be FORCED to do anything, I am sure nobody does, you wouldnt either.

When you make up your mind to do something and then someone comes along and changes that for you, that is irritating. now at first, I didnt have the weapons or practice to deal with them properly, now that has changed but the rest hasnt.

Iit is almost always low level players who just dont know any  better, they get in here level 8 or 14 and think this is gta and they just shoot at everyone.

These are annoying but easily taken care of, this guy I am talking about was level 135 or higher, so it shocked me.

New players will argue a bit then they tend to come around.

Anyway, I just wanted to clear that up.

So far there have been 5 or 6 encounters that really pissed me off, and we argued a bit, each one of those times, the person who had done the shooting apologized, friended me and in two cases, hunted and caught me some pelts and carcasses to make up for what I lost when they shot my horse, lol those were good dues, that felt bad after realizing they dont want to be treated like that and what they did was lame, now were friends, so these encounters do have happy endings.

 

 

 

 

Didnt mean to offend you in some way. Maybe it is the lg barrier. What i meant is im glad that you got better in the game and have no problem dealing with those issues. 

There always are and will be jerks in every online game. You got better, stronger so its no longer such an issue for you - good. 

Not all players that are red shoot everything and everyone. I got red yesterday for the first time ever in RDR online bcoz i want to trigger more player interactions towards me. I didnt shoot players in the head - i just went to Annesburg and got to the end of the platform to have water on my back side and started shooting civilians and then bounty hunters that came after me for about an hour or so to go from full honorable to full dishonorable. 

As for the jerks - most of them are bad in the game really. They suck in showdowns and go free roam find some1 and try to gank him/her. A couple of days ago i was in a saloon drinking beer (daily achievement) and i saw one guy come in. I was drinking my beer not doing or saying anything to him but watched him close. At first he got his gun and pointed it at my back from about 10 meters or so but didnt fire (not sure if the system dont allow shooting some1 in the saloon or he just changed his mind). Then he came close and pulled his knife...... i immediately turn back, pulled my knife and stick it in his jaw  Oh i  bet he got pissed. Ofc he went back and stood in front of the saloon enterance. Pulled my 2x sawed offs and rushed out shooting him in the face from about a meter or so.... He got so mad he challenged me to a battle and lost it 0 to 5 ....  Had to pacify him with explosive ammo bcoz he was starting to annoy me.          I sort of like beeing provoked.  But sometimes those players come back and back and back beeing killed everytime and when that happens i just change sessions or hop into a pvp match. I really dont care if i loose the pelts. Making money in RDR 2 is very easy and i dont need money that much anymore........at least until they implement gambling what im really looking for (other stuff as well)

There's also something like 400 fixes with some of the big issues mentioned in their news about it.  .....also in that thread a couple posts down that I added.

Honestly, I think more bluer Players then red ones shot at me with launching the first shot (until today). 

This possibly also was partly attracted by the daily Tasks, which just changed today to no more PVP Tasks in FR. 

So it surly gets more peacfull now out there.

I did the same thing, lol I posted my diatribe, vol 2 and then went to see if there had been an update, and sure enough!!!!!!

It won't be 3Gb of new data - its 3Gb of changed data. Making 1 gameplay change will have an impact on various existing modules of the game so they all have to be recoded, repackaged and reinstalled. Plus there's a load of bug fixes R* are addressing in the update.

Fair enough, still, whatever it includes a 3 Gig update was not what I expected, but I was pleasantly surprised.

I hit level 93 this morning, currently grinding for the $950 I need for Dynamite Arrows, mmmmmm tasty.

Only 7 left to go, then I can upgrade my saddle one last time, and forget about ever grinding for a level again, I will shift to just playing the game.

Updating this so later IO can look back at the date when I hit level 55 and remember when I was 38 and R* put out that promotion where you could get things at level 60 for 4 days if you were there, I fell short, and reached 55 from 38 then made this initial post, today I am almost done.

I'm level 15 because I didn't really play the beta and I got really bored. Now that I'm back on playing the game again with the online finally leaving the beta, the game is much more interesting than it once was. Props to those who grind in the beta, very impressive indeed.

Last saddle unlock is 96 I think (currently trying to get there myself to see if its a cash or gold purchase) but I understand your "7 left" regards lvl 100 being the last official rank for unlocks. For me the grind will still be on as long as they're awarding gold for each rank increase. 

Anyone know why special saddles don't appear in the rank unlocks menu? Strange they went to the trouble of putting that feature in but then didn't bother populating it properly.

Yeah the saddle upgrade is around the corner, and after I get it I am going to shift, I will still be leveling up and probably faster than previoulsy for the gold bars too, but my focus wont be on daily grinding and hunting, it will be more about just playing and experiencing the actual game now.

I was really bummed to see my favorite saddle and the one I use in Single player was locked up behind gold and a lot I forget I think 18 gold bars?

But, sigh... ok when I get the gold, I will buy it, But I refuse to grind for it, when it happens it happens, my current saddle set up is pretty good and to be honest my horse's bars are 95% full, and his attributes bars are full completely so I dont see any significant change to my horses performance however the drain rates are a little better and more aggressive, with the upgraded saddle, so yeah I will get it, but it is not a priority to me at this point.

I dont know why they dont show up in the rank unlock level screen either, I wish they had, but ok.

I hit level 94 last night, got my pamphlet finally from 93 I needed $850 and had to start from 2.22$ because I had just bought dual Lamat's and a host of other upgrades all in a row, I think Ive spent over $10,000.00 in recent days, it is so rewarding to hit that rank, grind that cash, make the purchase, etc.. 

But then it leaves me empty for a minute thinking, ok, now what? l I have zero dollars and the idea of starting over for a cash grind isnt even in the cards, lol.

I plan to do the stranger, and story missions, and pvp mode from this point forward, stopping to hunt for the ingredients I need for snake oil, and various types of incendiary or exploding ammo types, ie: animal fat, moonshine, feathers, etc..

I have literally had dreams of this day and now it is here, the only thing that detoured me was new items I hadnt anticipated like the Lamat, I havent even looked at an Evans repeater for example, so.. who knows my eye may catch something I want, and if so I know how to grind for cash, but otherwise, for now on, whatever I get I get it is all about the game and story now, not building my character anymore he is done.
