KamaroRN
Is anyone having issues with thier panther/cougar disappearing from thier horse. Over the past few days I have had several cougars/Panthers disappear from my horse after skinning an animal I killed. Not only that, almost everytime I get a perfect panther but by the time i get to the butcher it has downgraded itself to poor. I don't know how much $$$$ I've lost because of these issues.... deadairface
I've had animals or big pelts stored on the back of my horse disappear, but I'm never quite sure if it's a bug or because someone stole it off the back. People can't steal pelts that lie flat, but they can steal animals or big pelts (bear, alligator, elk, etc.). On the other hand, I've also seen the animal or big pelt disappear off the back of my horse, but when I look in my satchel for what I have stored on the back of my horse it shows up there and I can sell it, even though I can't see it. Maybe check that. I get the animals downgraded too. In the single player game, maybe in the help screen, it says if you keep an animal on your horse too long it will rot. The problem is if you kill a pristine animal up north of Annesberg or something, I don't know how you get it to a butcher in time before it rots. I've tried racing across the map but that doesn't work. I've tried fast travel to a butcher but that doesn't work either. It's disappointing, especially when the butcher mocks you for bringing him a rotten animal)) Now I always just skin the thing.
Moosh89
I killed a 3 star Pronghorn Buck outside of Armadillo and sold it at Valentine, it didn't seem to downgrade. I started at Rathskellar Fork and killed everything bigger than a pig on the way back to Valentine lol. I've had small animals stay on the sides of my horse but when I get to the butcher, one disappears. Edited June 14, 2019 by Moosh89
N7Creed
Animals will degrade when using the fast travel. If you need to use it, dismiss your horse before clicking on it. Then recall your horse at the other end. This should preserve the quality of the carcass. Edited June 14, 2019 by N7Creed

I've gotten around that by removing one of them when I get to the butcher. They both remain in tact when you sell the one in your hand separately from the other one still on the horse. C20Dragon
If you have two of the same carcasses on the sides of your horse. As Moosh has 2 perfect turkey carcasses, it will only show up as one icon now, when you try to sell it. If you watch the video again one turkey sells for 1.00, but when Moosh click the one turkey icon to be sold. Moosh gets $2.00 & it shows 2 x perfect turkey carcass sold in the info to the right. So even though there is only one icon to be sold, you will still get credit for both when you sell the one icon.

I wonder why it doesn't show a "2" in the corner like it does with pelts? Also yesterday I was up around Roanoke Valley/ Brandywine Drop looking for 2 cougars to skin. I killed one 3 star and it took about 2 in game days to find the other, but after the first day I noticed my stored carcass had black rot on it already and was poor condition but the pelt underneath it remained 3 stars after I went down to Saint Denis several in game days later. My first time actually noticing a carcass go bad. It seemed super quick considering I shot that Pronghorn outside Armadillo and sold it in Valentine as 3 stars a few real days ago.
