GTA Online as the basis?

Given the success of GTA Online it's highly likely that Rockstar would use that same engine and model (tweaked and improved of course) for Red Dead Online. What are your thoughts on that? Do you like GTA Online or would you like to see a massive overhaul?

I'd personally want Rockstar to work off of Red Dead Redemption's Multiplayer but GTA Online was such a success they are bound to try and replicate parts of it, I only say this because although I enjoyed GTA Online it had easy to abuse features I absolutely hated such as "Passive Mode" and the "Kill Yourself" option however most of my problems with GTA V were with the gameplay such as the inability to crouch, switch shoulders etc so as long as they don't forget Red Dead Redemption entirely I will be more than happy with this game.

I think they need dedicated servers for Red Dead Online. I read that GTA Online works off P2P structure and that this is one of the main reasons that you can get disconnected, placed in a lobby by yourself, slow loading screens etc. If they fixed that up and introduced things like server browsers etc so you got the best connection possible, I think that would fix alot of the issues that I have with GTAO at the moment.

If we have a large enough map, I can see them being able to pull this off but at the same time, it will come with challenges. It is something that they can even wait to release as well. Just have focus be on the main story and mini-online games like before and then really invest in an open world online option.

I hope they do something just like GTA V but more attuned to the times of RDR. Like have the same features but be/keep it realistic to the era.

I am guessing that is the plan. People are expecting it at this point. It has been enough years since RDR1 came out that we will likely see some new and amazing things.
