Lynchings/Hangings?

I actually have a rather grim hope about this game. It involves two game dynamics that actually existed in the original game:

• lasso/hogtie
• "Put victim on horse"

In the original game, you could only lay the "victim" across the horse's butt. 

Suppose in this game if you could put your "victim" on the saddle of a horse (maybe even yours), and if you find a tree, you can throw the rope over a branch, tie a noose around the guys neck, and even slap the horse's butt to execute the poor you-know-what.

Yes, it's grim. But it might actually also add a GREAT feature to the game - coercion.

Meaning you could also use it as a tactic to get information out of people. Tie them up, put 'em on their horse, string them up, and threaten to swat the horse if they don't talk.

Whether or not you actually DO swat the horse afterward is up to you. And your Honor goes up or down accordingly.

I know it's grim, but hangings were a huge part of the Old West. (especially in the Romantic retellings). Would that not be an awesome feature??

All I can think of right now is Tuco sitting on that horse, sweating bullets, and the subsequent conversation:

"You cut down my percentage, it might affect my aim."

Hangings aren't that big of a deal. I mean we can put people on train tracks so to me, a hanging isn't that bad. 

I am not sure if they would add it or not because of the stigmas attached to it (suicide and racism) but given that they have so many other ways of killing people in these games, they should allow it.

Well, honestly, there are stigmas with almost everything lately. I very much doubt an edgy company like Rockstar wants to deal with the criticism which comes with conveniently ignoring certain aspects of history simply because they're not politically correct today. Like the guff schools are getting for pulling books like Tom Sawyer and To Kill A Mockingbird from their libraries.

This is a good idea, loved that part of The Good, The Bad and the Ugly. Being able to 'hang' victims could be good way to gain info and threaten, bit explicit but realistic for those times.

That is the world we live in now. Everything is offensive. It is sad. Like people take everything too personal. I don't know when it even started.  I mean parents have targeted video games and blamed them for their violence since the late 90's and you can see how far they got with that. I think a lot of companies just ignore it because they understand the differences between reality and fantasy.

It isn't something I would personally do in the game even if it was an option but just because some people may not like it doesn't mean they have to avoid it. If it is part of the story they would be kind of screwed either way though lol

I'm not bothered by it being in the game. I think it would be fitting and you best believe it is something I would play around with. I know the game is fake and the story isn't real but the realism and realistic aspects of it and the time it was set in are the reasons I enjoy playing games like this. Not everything is sunshine and rainbows.
