  1. Disclaimer, if anyone takes offense to anything I have to say now, or in the future, blame @Cokeyskunk and @Truth, it's their fault I'm here. I was just going to play the game and enjoy it, and these clowns dragged me here kicking and screaming. Please don't look at my participation here like some sort of ominous sign: the last two communities I was heavily involved in have gone down like the Hindenburg if it were crashing into the Superbowl during the National Anthem (Marvel Heroes Omega/Friday the 13th the Game). I am prone to hyperbole, snarkiness, and generally making an ass of myself at my own expense, and I have a habit of carpet bombing forums, as others here can attest. I killed 2 Xbox 360's with RRoD playing the original RDR, and I am beyond enthused for the sequel. The more I see and hear, the more excited I get. This is going to be fantastic, and with the way Rockstar has built the online component of their last few titles, I'm confident that the replay value for what appears to be a fairly limited story (as a prequel) will be nothing short of amazing. For now, I'm just getting the lay of the land here, but trust me, you won't have to look hard to find me around once I get acclimated. I refuse to apologize in advance.

  2. I always thought that WoW had a nice take on this with "Rested XP" which basically acted like a passive boost to gained XP for an amount of time each day, based on how long you'd been logged out. A similar mechanic tied to "fatigue" such as increased difficulty with aiming, less "stamina" or whatever in-game mechanic is utilized, reduced return on the use of consumables, or a flat XP tax the longer you're logged in. None of these things is perfect, but separately (or together), they could add another layer to immersion.

  4. Well, at least you don't have the word "Aldermach" or a roman numeral in your screen name. ????

  5. . . . and remember: it's Bro-POLLO, like A-pollo. . . . not Bro-POYO, like Spanish for chicken. ????

  7. Welcome, Bro... I normally don't call people that but it works here and I am too lazy to fully type out your name. And yeah, forums are taking a dive. I blame that social media epidemic. Kills off great discussions between people and just causes them to have verbal diarrhea. Though, we are typing so that makes little sense... Enjoy your stay!

  8. It's not @Cokeyskunk and @Truth you all need to be concerned about, they're fine, upstanding community members. I'm the neighbor who drives down everyone's property values.

  10. @ChrisCr0ss I always go with amazon. They have a promotion for 20% off all (physical copy) preorders for prime members, so they usually have the best price. I'm assuming that explains @CMcC's choice.

  12. Welcome to the cool kids club. I don't know why I said that. Enjoy the place. More importantly, when RDR2 comes out, we can all enjoy the experience together, hopefully not complaining about things wrong with the game... Nah, they won't mess this one up.

  13. I was the worst as a child. I used to spend hours secretly searching for my presents, and when I found them I would then hint about wanting whatever they bought me for the next week, like if they bought me a football I would be like "Oh I really want a football" just randomly when I entered a room. Seems like a nice thing to do but I just cringe when I think about it now.
