Here's the way I look at it. (*deep breath*)
In the original RDR Multiplayer, there were LOTS of "camp" places for the Shootout games.
One notorious one was at the front-center of the sanctuary in Las Hermanas.
It was right in the red circle in this image:
If you'll note the wooden crates on the ground (to the right of the sanctuary) here, that's where you could begin climbing up to get there.
Once there, you could take cover behind that raised wall in the red circle, then have a bird's eye view of the WHOLE playing field.
Pick folks off one . . . by one . . . by one.
It was GREAT!!
. . . unless someone on the OTHER team was doing it to yours. Then it blew.
Buuuuuuuuuuuuttttt -- there WERE a few ways to get rid of the camping sniper, and when you did THAT, boy was it satisfying!!
So -- yes, there were negatives, but I think the positives outweighed the negatives. Campers picking people off my team only challenged me to find ways to eliminate them.
Which, in turn, made me better.
So, do I think "camping" should be removed? No way.
That said, it MIGHT be nice to have a few extra WEAPONS which would assist in eliminating said campers.
Say . . . more dynamite? ("Oooh, you're camping up there? Here, catch!" *KA-BLAMMO!*)
I have high expectations for this game. ????
