Made my way over after starting to roll back into RDO. I've originally been at it since day 1 - spoiled myself by getting the Ultimate Edition on PS4 and haven't looked back. I also played the first RDR sometime after it initially came out, though I had to fight with my step brother for the controller. Perks of being an adult now with a setup you purchased with your own money - you're not entitled to share. 😉 As for the stats & info about my RDO status: ✿ Currently Level 60 (I've been off the game for a few months) ✿ I have a mic, though I'm subjective on when I use it ✿ I can flip flop back and forth between alignments, though I prefer Honorable ✿ I'm located within the Pacific Timezone (-8) ✿ I'm all for grinding, though I'm admittedly not the best at Showdowns just yet I also have to say, I'm looking forward to when Rockstar finally implements the ability to edit your existing characters as the new CC makes the girls look so much more feminine while the rest of us are left struggling with man jaws. I personally don't want to give up my personalised guns and I believe it'd take more time to work back up to where I am now than if I were to just wait. So, I've got my fingers crossed that, with the amount of hints dropped so far on its progress, it'll be dropped soon. Depending on how motivated I'm feeling I also may or may not work on a persistent posse. Being a working girl and a student has its drawbacks when it comes to the amount of time you're able to divide towards online activities. Otherwise, I'm all for joining in with others! I'm really trying to work towards the Silver Dapple Pinto Missouri Fox Trotter. Other than that, here's a couple photos of my character! Oldest and most recent. 👋

Hey it does work for story mode too man, really good, just got a notification pop up in game and got the map up on my iphone, great !!!

Even if not its still very useful for when i start online proper, i have only delved into the beginning of the online, not done anything really. Still doing so much with the story mode in chapter 3 lol

I would suggest downloading the RDR2 app available for both iOS and Android. It allows to you view the map while playing and see other players, waypoints, etc. You can zoom in and out which is great so you don't have to open the big map which can leave you exposed to attack. It also allows you to see what's going on around you while fishing which is great since the minimap is not available in the game during that particular activity. Speaking of attack, in order to avoid random conflict with others in Free Roam, I would also suggest choosing a spawn point in an area of the map that is at least a couple provinces away from where you want to hunt, fish, do missions, etc. The game tends to spawn people into areas with the highest concentration of other players. This simple trick has worked for me since the game was still in beta. .....and still does. Use the defensive mode unless your plan is to engage with others (or have them engage you). While it doesn't prevent you from being attacked, it does give you an edge to allow you to evade and provide more options against aggressors if they happen to shoot you.

In terms of content free roam is quite limiting in terms of xp progression. it is basicly stranger missions and story missions. just do remember that not all free roam missions are for defensive mode. if you love unfair pvp, stay around the big citys. if you hate it spend your first 25 levels in Austin. desent amount of stranger contracts in that region and the pvpers stays in blackwater and tumbleweed. and as allways, never trust a blue dot cuz beeing blue dont mean they cant shoot you.

Just an fyi but a lot has changed since this thread was created and last contributed to over 5 months ago. ....but yeah, judging by your username and the tone of your message, I'm guessing you don't care to discuss that. Just a friendly reminder though..... RDR2.org is not affiliated with R* or 2K in any way. This is a fan site where community members / fans of the game help one another with questions, problems, information and/or simply share their RDR2/RDO experiences with one another. It sounds like you've already given up on the game but if you decide to give it a go again, feel free to tap into us a resource, contribute your own ideas/experience, etc.

For those players that like to play PvP modes. I figure this out a few months ago. Not sure if many players know about this? Since R* doesn't give you a visual option when you tackle a player. Instead of tackling & pressing B to Subdue a player, which you'll hit the player in the face with the buttstock of the rifle or Shotgun. You can tap RT & shot the player in the face. Here is a few examples in the video. I think the shotgun is the best execution hehehehe

excellent tips. If you get attack from behind, either by getting choked or if someone grabs you and shoves a gun to your back. You can counter that by hitting B. Which you will spin 180 out of the attack & face your attacker. But you have to be quick or you will get choked out or shot.

Ya.. that's always useful. Another one is if you're crouching and stopped or slow creeping and press B. And if you have no weapons in your hands, you will instantly ONE hit KO someone with a hard right hook. From behind you'll choke them out. With a weapon in your hand you will slap them and set them up for a shot to the face. From behind you'll grab them and shove a gun to their back.

Gets better. Cannot pick up mail from post offices. I know trump didn't pay Gov workers but what the actual frick? Only way to get ammo is to a gunsmiith. Read the reports r*. Sort your life out.

Had that before, one troll thinking he's Jesse James finds out he's actually JESSIE James and runs away with his tail between his legs and returns with a whole bunch of trolls. Same as the trolls who spoil the archery comp by shooting other players with rifles (usually in the back) or one particular dinger who dynamited the water during a fishing comp. I used to chase them but now I just ignore them and don't do invites anymore.
