  1. I'm going to preface this with the disclaimer that i am NOT talking about anyone in particular, here on these forums or elsewhere. But it is very comical/sad watching all of these folks "grind" through all of the content as fast as possible, to unlock every feature and reward, before everyone else... and then spend the next 6 months complaining because they are bored with it and expect R* to have the next update ready to go, NOW! (and it's R*s fault that they ran out of content) I'm not bored, I'm in no hurry. I hunt and trade for a while, go catch a bounty or two, stop by the saloon and play a few hands of poker, maybe go find a treasure, clear a few camps if I spot them, craft a bit at camp and pet the dog... etc. I guess, I just don't get the need to "grind" and certainly don't get "grinding" to "complete" everything as soon as humanly possible. It just seems so very counter to "fun". As for me, it will take me probably months to complete all three roles. And I am absolutely, 100% fine with that. Obviously, ymmv.

  2. I dunno..... I'm not rushing things and I'm finding them to be entertaining enough. I only find things get grindy when I make them that way (e.g. trying to knock missions out one after the other in rapid succession, etc.). It's not a race for me to get to the end. ....but that's just me.

  3. https://www.richardwestenra.com/rdr2-free-roam-event-schedule/ I don't know if is legit or not, but I found this site which is tracking the free roam event release schedule in real time.

  4. Sorry, those don't count. You know those event invitations that pop up on your screen from time to time like "Lake Fishing Challenge" or "Fool's Gold" that you can accept or ignore? To get the poncho you have to accept and complete one of the role specific ones. The collector has the new condor egg hunt one and salvage, bounty hunter has "Day of Reckoning" and one other that I can't think of the name of right now and trader has one that I also can't think of the name of. You have to be at least level 4 in a role to receive the free roam event invitations related to it. Edit: the other bounty hunter event is called Manhunt and the trader event is called trade route

  5. Just for playing. It's just a promotion to entice people to play. To get the poncho, you have to participate in a role based free roam event.

  6. I'm suprised that Madam Nazar doesn't sell you a special collector's stick, or a broom handle or something, for $450, to go with the $350 shovel, specially designed for poking things out of trees.

  7. The idea of RDO and the bright outlook the developers at R* really focusing on making RDO a much more involved environment really excites me, with that being said I have had a plethora of ideas for future content and one that rolls around my brain really has to be the idea of going to your camp and having Cripps tell you that he wants to branch out and that involves enlisting more help and saying that you should go to some of the nearby towns to find some help, then you go to a saloon and meet a new npc who helps you go through a list or generated bunch of handbills of special npc's with their own voice/personalities and skills, leading to you hiring and gaining them as a follower. I'd like to think of this as a very immersive update with the goal of being helpful and really fun. I realize that adding a mobile NPC companion to an online game like RD may seem out of place but with Cripps defending your camp and dogs as camp aid's I see the idea being not to far out. Idk let me know what you guys think about this wild idea.

  9. Killing one NPC once in a awhile is going to have virtually no effect on your honor. It's only when you kill a bunch in a row that it really starts to drop your honor. You don't even really have to kill the guy. All you have to do is point your gun at him and he'll give it to you and run off. On the other hand $5 isn't much at all, so whatever floats your boat.😁

  11. Role based would be any of the events having to do with one of the 3 new roles. .....Trader, Collector or Bounty Hunter.

  12. GTAO has one where you get $1,000,000 just for logging into the game right now. They have these all the time and I suspect they'll continue to do the same with RDO. It's a great way to get people to jump into the game that are otherwise inactive. .....and a nice bonus for those who play regularly too. Same with the payout bonuses, etc.

  13. No wrong way to play. I personally want to have a certain amount of gold and money so that when I take a break to play other games,I am not in scramble mode when I return. I took a few months break before. This game isn't that much of a grind. It isn't like Destiny or something. I don't power grind but I know people that do. I don't concern myself with how others play the game. If you want to never leave Chapter 2 in story mode. Cool. If you aren't concerned with maxing out the 3 online roles.....Good for you. As long as you aren't running a glitch/cheat I careless what other players do. I have more important things to worry about in real life than to concern myself with the rants of a "Not Enough Content" tool.

  15. I think folks should enjoy the game as they like whether that's running through it or stopping to smell the flowers once in a while, etc. ....but yeah, part of the reason I (personally) don't tend to rush my progress is because I typically enjoy the game more and for longer that way. To each their own though. There's really no wrong way to enjoy the game or it's content.

  16. I spent the gold on the Black one and was awesome. Almost full curcles on acceleration and speed. and full health at level 4 bonding. Didn't balk at anything even gaters. Then something changed. I didn't play for about 6 weeks and now it isn't as good as I thought it was. Runs at the sight of any animal and gun shots spook it crazy. Did game mechanics change a bit? IDK

  17. Thank you for asking this - found some eggs at Window Rock last night and destroyed them trying to get them out of the tree.
