It isn't griefing when the game tells you that you can rob the wagon. If you successfully take someone's wagon, you get supplies for your camp. I personally don't mind players trying to attempt a wagon theft. $625 is a nice haul . High risk, high reward. You could opt to do the $500 run with no issues. I have no problem with the way it currently is. But it definitely isn't griefing if they are playing the objective of trying to seize the goods for themselves. I do solo runs all the time with no issues. R* is trolling me by putting me in a private lobby 50% of the time. I hate that. I want to be challenged. I have had one posse attempt to jack my wagon. Awesome time. They failed but as soon as we delivered they rode off. Because the mission was over. Not griefing.2 points

SERGIO VINCENZA: DANGEROUS MILITARY DEFECTOR ON THE LOOSENEW LEGENDARY BOUNTY, PLUS UNLOCK THE SLAUGHTER MASK AND MORE The anarchist agitator and former military sharpshooter Sergio Vincenza is this week's Legendary Bounty. Since defecting from the military, Vincenza has been on the run and his accuracy with a rifle has passed into the stuff of legends. The glint of sunshine reflecting off his scope is said to be a grim harbinger and an omen of death. His last major operation was a botched assassination attempt on the Governor of Saint Denis, and he is rumored to be holed up in the fire tower at Roanoke Ridge. But beware: Vincenza's men are highly-trained ex-military who are said to have rigged the hills with traps and explosives. Approach with considerable caution. Licensed Bounty Hunters can take on Vincenza and his anarchist gang by picking up his poster at any local sheriff's office. Wheeler, Rawson & Co. has a new selection of clothing available for a limited time only, including the Folwell and Dillehay Hats, the eye-catching Prieto Poncho, Eberhart Coat, and the stylish combo of the Morales Vest and Carver Pants. I got griefed the other day by my ISP when my internet crashed during a fully loaded long distance delivery. $625 worth of goods flushed down the toilet. I was pissed! I didn't need the money or the xp, but Comcast couldn't pick a worse time to crap out on me!🤬1 point

That's top drawer advice. I'm pretty new to collecting and was similar to OP - I'm now almost level 20 for both Trader and Bounty Hunter, but only #5 for collector (and got much of that from doing the 'wreck salvage' (or whatever it's called, love those). Bought four maps from Nazar at the weekend, completed those yesterday, and now I suddenly have a real feel for the sort of place where collectibles might be stashed. So am gaining Collector xp hand over fist.1 point

If you don't want to use the cheat maps from the internet use the in-game maps bought from Madame Nazar when starting out. Aside from giving you guaranteed collectibles and the XP for finding them, they'll give you an idea of what sort of places to look for other collectibles. I didn't find I needed to spend a lot of time dedicated to collector, just keep your eyes and ears open as you travel around doing other tasks as others have said. As with all the roles, doing the daily challenges is a massive boost to levelling up.1 point

Not sure about XBox but PS4 had the Black Chestnut Thoroughbred as an Ultimate Edition bonus for online. I have been riding this horse from the beginning. I picked him up at the stable in Strawberry so you might check there to see if there are options for you. GREAT HORSE ... we have been through a LOT together!1 point

...thing is, the mechanic isn't broken, it's just that you don't like it. Nothing wrong with that though. This is part of the risk / reward. If you commit to a delivery, there's no backing out which IMO is good. Part of the risk / anticipation / excitement is that other players may choose to ambush you. You decide on which route you want, etc. based on how much risk you're willing to take. If people were allowed to cancel when things got hairy, where's the challenge in that? Deliveries are risky and part of that risk is being attacked by other players. .....as such, it's is not considered"griefing" when you fall victim. Right, wrong or indifferent, that is part of the game in relation to these kinds of missions / events. You're talking about levying penalties against players who are playing within the rules of the game as if they were griefing. The reason they are able to go into defensive mode after the event is because it's over at that point. If you pursue them when all is said and done because you're upset about the outcome, then you are the aggressor. Same as the target side missions, mail deliveries, etc. Again, you're punishing players simply for participating in the missions / events. It can't be handled the same as griefers are in Free Roam. If penalties are so high, then no one would want to even try to attack. .....what would be the point in even allowing it then? As others said, choose the safer routes or better yet, find a group to team up with so you have added protection. IME, that alone is usually enough to deter aggressors on these types of missions.1 point

PIB is great against SB, otherwise you have auto aim and it works well, you can also dial it in in your settings from normal to wide or narrow and it really helps alot. For defense it isnt any good it eats a slot you could use Slow and Steady in which is fantastic for defense.1 point

I revised my build to a tank build, check it out. Slow and Steady, Iron Lung Fool me once The unblinking eye I am thinking of messing with Unblinking eye and adding yet another defensive card even, but I like the extra 15 seconds of dead eye, so far this build is crazy good for defense, very very hard to kill. Not the best for offensive, but thats another build all together. This build is good for free roam, if someone takes a shot at you, you are going to survive. I had a posse try to stop me from taking a wagon from Rio Bravo to Riggs station, I made it nearly to Blackwater or outside of Blackwater when they attacked, I was able to kill them each three times before one got me with a stick of dynamite, I was 1 second too slow to shoot him or I would have gotten him too, I didnt see him throwing the stick, lol Exploding rounds and the above build made me nearly invincible to them, if not for dynamite I am sure I would have thwarted them, I had tons of ammo left plus dyna arrows. Anyway try it, it is a solid build.1 point

Slow and Steady, Iron Long, Fool Me Once all together allows you to take alot of shots (especially head shots) and live. Last card, id use is Live for the Fight to always have your dead eye on charge (And Peak condition OR Strange Medicine for a side swap when dead eyes full) That set up is perfect defense against cheat shots artists and PIB users. Its almost comical how many shots you can take. Been using this set-up since SB was ruined by R*. Been called a hacker for using it, so that pretty much sums it up. That being said, SB is the counter to this set up^. So if you're dealing with someone using SB, swap to PIB.1 point
