I think there is a line between legitimate conflict and griefing... where exactly that line is I suppose is a little subjective, but in my mind, killing someone fishing (for example) for absolutely no reason doesn’t make you an old west outlaw, just an annoying psychopath. However, trying to steal my delivery? Or steal my 3* cougar? Maybe take my bounty (if they ever fix that system)... all legitimate conflict and desired...2 points

Villans: just like the stranger missions we already have. Like Shakey and the boy. Those are villans. A Villan role would involve more in depth, complex negative honor missions. Key word "missions'. Griefers are not on a game "mission". If it's a rockstar designed mission like a train robbery it would dump you into a private lobby to start it and you wouldn't be seeing other players anyways. Like legendary bounty mission. Would be like an "epic robbery" mission.2 points

This is old ground, but for me, it's intent/motivation. Griefers are doing what they do purely (or at least mainly) to get pleasure out of causing someone else misery (or 'grief', if you will), with no significant in game advantage to themself. Compare this to attacking someone else's trader long delivery wagon (see the other long thread on this), whereby, if successful, the attacker gets to steal some of the materials for themself, and the trader has been expressly warned that they are taking a risk. Hopefully any outlaw/villain role will follow that model of only/mainly targeting players who are flagged as 'up for it'. I personally would rather be robbed by someone who's doing it because it's their actual job, than shot in the head on the way to the butcher by someone just because they can/are bored/hope to upset me. I suspect a big element of the role will be PvE in any event, like bounties (and to a certain extent trader) already are.2 points

Regarding the map, after the patch you can now double click with LMB to set the waypoint. For me the performance is the same as before the patch in Single Player. I run it on a 43" 4K monitor with everything on max settings except for TAA Medium, other AA and Motion Blur OFF. Get 40-50 FPS and it looks gorgeous. i7 6850K 6c/12t @ 4.2Ghz, 32 DDR4 RAM 3200Mhz, RTX2080ti and game installed on NVMe PCIe x4.2 points

Something is clearly missing here , villain roles !! Our unit has been 100% Honorable since the start , what we have got in return ? Disconnect on long runs , grieves running unchecked doing what ever they feel like doing with no consequence , no Animals , camp spawn issues. Not dissing the game but it is completely one sided currently. All law men and no one to chase but mindless npcs. We need villain roles immediately ! Give us trains to rob , banks , stores , hell anything !! This game can't come full circle untill these are launched. Example would be like playing a cod multiplayer match where everyone is on the same team ! No enemies ! I stay as up to date as I can on rockstar but I still see nothing on villain roles. Anyone have any info on this ? Please share.1 point

So it seems there's a bug that causes up to 4x drain of cores and up to 4x faster weight loss in the PC version. Also weather effects seems effected. Until it's fixed you could lock FPS to 30 if you want to circumvent this bug. EDIT: Also now public in media about it, the BUG is real. https://www.vg247.com/2019/11/15/red-dead-redemption-2-core-drain-faster-pc-high-framerate/1 point

Its not Villain roles we need.. Its criminal roles. Like some said with robberies and such. Villains are kind of subjective.1 point

@SimonTemplar thanks very much for confirming the draw that the beautifully made RDO horses are for some people. I realize others do not understand this, but it's ok. Your kids understand, and I would rather have their agreement than "wise" adults.1 point

Lol I had to shoot my way into Valentine a little while back, a couple of posses were going at it and no one really trusted me trying to wander into the middle to catch up on some shopping (when you have to buy a shotgun, you just have to buy a shotgun). Made for a fun change. Wonder if it was you guys?! But back to topic - yes, I'd love to see some villain roles, and perhaps some corresponding good guy roles. As the current crop (in particular collector and trader) are neutral (even bad guys like making money and eating), so yes you could have train robber, bank robber, cattle/horse rustling, wagon theft, protection rackets etc on one side, with added property/business ownership for neutrals and then marshall/sheriff/deputy/bounty hunter posse-type roles for the good side of the coin. Lots of scope for long-tern development there. And yes, I agree, with the Outlaw Pass ending shortly they might be teeing gup the next stage. Never know!1 point

Good points re the free aim 'trial' they had and monitoring of feedback and stats etc. At peak time Gun Rushes would be full to capacity (32 players) each and every time and god knows how many were being played out in parallel over the 5 venues. I played a lot whilst in headset contact with sister and bro-in-law and we counted in 3 2 1 Go! to 'join new game' ...on many occassions we missed the synchronicity and would be marauding parallel Fort Mercer's with both being full to capacity! I guess I'll just wait and see if my enquiries reach the ear of a R* official. Thanks for taking time to reply pal.1 point

What chapter are you on? Although not equal in length, that may be a better gauge to figure out generally how far along you are in the story. That's what I determined my progress in the story by when I played the campaign.1 point

My guess pal is that most folk don't have same thoughts based on the lack of interest? I thought there would have been an uproar and a demand to reinstate it. Looks like it's just me lol1 point

Well, John is a bit of a di*k... And he was on a mission to hunt down and kill his old friends. He didn’t have time to be Mr. Nice to a stolen horse... Or the guy riding the next one...1 point

I think they're messing with you, a bit. You don't need those things to hunt herbs, but using Eagle eye (the dead eye type thing that you can do without a gun) makes finding herbs much easier. Just go stand in a prairie, engage eagle eye, and look for the clouds of glowing dust. Every herb is worth 25c at the doctors - 5 minutes will get you enough for a healthy stock of ammo, and then you're back in business.1 point
