This is somewhat confusing and looked at one way could seem as if Rockstar are sabotaging their own game. To be a Trader we have to kill animals to supply Gus but to support Harriet we can't. However, we need to raise cash to play the game so even though I have sided with Harriet I'm thinking mayby play Harriet's game until I have all benefits and then change camp to Hunting. If nothing is done to make the knockout drops more potent and realistic I'll write off the gold paid to support Harriet - and even though I love animals I'd rather shoot Harriet as left wing liberals are always a pain-in-the-ass with their over-the -top; " I'm going to save the world " portrayal - because as it stands at the moment it's too bloody frustrating needing not only half a ton of darts but the impossibility of keeping up with the animals and being able to get a shot on target, particularly when your target animal frequently gets into a mix of a whole mix of other animals. Try bringing down an elk in all of that with a piss poor dart. Let's hope Rockstar patch a few tweaks here and there to smooth out the problems.2 points

It's different if you strictly go the conservationist route. It's pretty much like filling out the animal compendium in story mode which is something I enjoyed doing there. You're not kidding. I managed to sedate a grizzly, but it took nearly 30 sedative rounds and I chased him all the way from one end of Big Valley to the other.2 points

I think its hillarious, that Harriet reacts, if you kill animals! Thats a fun little add Also, she reacts if you are wearing the garments.. even more funny! lol2 points

Love the game and great new update. Just one complaint. We need the sedative to have more power because as it is it's a joke and so makes that element of the game a joke. Make it closer to real life and not some silly frustrating windup removed from reality. This game has so much going for it on an adult level - even the usual quota of idiots who get their rocks off trying to ruin the game for others can be excused because back then there were plenty of inbreds, otherwise known as Hillbilly or Backwoods Dumbasses - but making the pursuit of sedated animals into an unrealistic grind smacks too much of badly thought out aspects to a game and after following the fantastic growth of quality in Rockstar games it's a backward step they would be better off without. I'm a PC only guy and have been waiting and hoping for a long time to see RDR come to PC and the wait has certainly been worth it.2 points

I meant the mission where you take out the poachers and get a sample from it. I'm sure flat out killing it isn't nearly as hard. 2nd day and still an abundance of animals. Couple more observations...you CAN NOT sedate neither horses nor humans lol. That Harriet is one high strung b#tch. Filled Cripps up first thing, did a couple other things, traveled a ways before starting to collect samples...witch still screamed at me and pepper sprayed me. And had 3 waves of bandits chase me on a local trader delivery. Assuming that's a new tweak because I've never had that happen. Definitely more fun than the boring shootout at the drop off.2 points

Ouch.... Yeah, if you uninstalled, I can see your dilemma. btw, I bought an external SSD for my PS4 a while back. I had 16 games downloaded as of late and just removed a couple yesterday I had no interest in anymore. It's great not having to worry about space and the big bonus is that even through the USB 3 port, it's still faster than the internal drive. It made a difference in games that I moved over when I first got it. ......so games like RDR2 that I don;t play often but expect I might again, I just leave on there. Same with GTA and so on.2 points

Yeah, I was looking forward to expanded outlaw and/or law roles but seems there are a lot of folks open to this kind of activity which is cool too. I think the take-away from all this is that the blackout has finally lifted as we are now seeing that there is still a future for the game (in relation to updates, etc.). What I'm most interested in is how RDO will evolve with the new PS5. I'm hoping we get more news about that and I'm crossing my fingers there are plans to take advantage of the new hardware similar to what they're doing with GTA. Either way, it's nice to see some life around here again.2 points

You can still do both. There is just a 10-15 minute window where Harriet won't let you do business with her after you've killed some animals. Just get your business done with her first and then go out hunting. You have to keep pumping the animal with sedative rounds until you you see the red X as if you've mortally wounded it. Instead of dying, it will run for a little bit and then pass out. You can then walk up to it and take a sample and if you wish, revive it for extra naturalist xp, provided you have some animal reviver sold by Harriet. The bigger the animal, the more rounds it takes to sedate it. You cannot sedate birds and small critters like squirrels, rats, chipmunks, toads, frogs and bats. The shots will kill them.1 point

What you mention is the Javelina Tusk Trinket. I refer to the Snowy Egret Trinket. After the update I can't find the Bracelets, rings and Necklaces for these Trinkets anymore with Jeanropke.1 point

Permanently decrease the speed that horse health and stamina cores drain by 10%1 point

Does anyone know the effect from buying Snowy Egret Trinket from Gus at $800 !!1 point

Got the same pepper spray treatement from Harriet several times when I entered her for sell/buy 🤣. Love to hunt, so that's part of the game LoL.1 point

So here is what I’m thinking, I’m glad we got another role, but how is this any different than the trader role. Could of just been an add on to that role. What would be nice is an actual outlaw role. Some cattle rustling and real cowboy activities would have been nice. Saloons with saloon girls for adult fun with train and bank robberies. I mean come on.1 point

.....a post simply meant to help inform the community using R* own words from their Tweet but yeah, don't read too far into it. I'm confused..... You're upset that you can't hook up with randoms but then in the next breath say that you don't want to? Well, the good news is that you don't need to matchmake in the game if you don't want to. Hell, I never liked working with randoms myself in nearly all team based scenarios in the games I play. ....so, if you're new to RDO, try to find friends via sites like these or discord channels, R* Social Club, PSN Communities (if on PS4), etc. Here at RDR2.org we have a Posse Recruitment sub forum where you can post what you're looking for or you can respond to one of the threads in that section. Several of the posses that advertise do have Discord channels or their own websites you can check out. If you can get over your issue with randoms, another way to find RDO friends is by sucking it up and joining others in their activities, posses, etc. You never know who you might come across and yes, while others can prove to be a pain, there are always those few that can end up being good gaming friends. As much as I dislike pairing up with randoms, I have to admit that I have found a couple who decent folks willing to play the game together sharing in each others activities. ....oh btw, welcome to the forums and good luck.1 point

If you get the Elephant rifle, you can shoot it dead, first time. I used almost 20 shots with an ordinary rifle at first, without luck. Maybe it got soft, i dont know ;D - Also, i really really love the work put into this new role! i am ALMOST saying its worth the 7 months, but i guess Corona played a big part in this though.. Nevertheless, animals spawns like crazy now, and its a real pleasure to ride, and have life around you like never before.. The game just got 50% better. Now, i know Rockstar plans to build further into the roles already existing, and also adding small portions of new stuff everytime they send out an update, so who knows? we might get something cool in the next portion.. Let the Hotels bring in BATH functions, for roleplayers like me ;-)1 point

Based on my experience the Moonshiner role give more payout and exp than the trader role. To get 100 goods you need 3 hours of Cripps time wich will give You 2500 xp for long run and 4 x 500 xp for material missions (one in every 25 goods produced) this gives you 4500 xp and takes about 3,5 - 4 hours with the delivery time added. 650 RDO$ Now Moonshiner produces every 48 min goods worth 244 $ and 900+ xp so in less than 3 hours You will have 2700+ xp Just for delivery. I know that the bottles can be broken but its very easy to deliver without loosing a single one using the auto drive and choosing correct speed (trot). Delivery from Bayo NWA moonshiner location are the shortest ones out of all locations. Same with missions. Now we have over 2700 xp in less than 3 hours but the deal are missions. One moonshiner mission gives 300 xp and takes a few mins. Dont forget the dead bodies of shiners or agents almost always !! have collectors items on their bodies so thats 150 xp for each one. Now the cherry on the cake: Moonshiner story mission with the boat ( 3rd one i believe ). It takes 13-15 mins to finish that mission and it gives about 2000 xp bcoz of the NPC's that You kill. The more You kill the better the XP. When mission starts kill all NPC's -=> they will spawn more so dont get in the boat when Fike tells you to. Just keep shooting until the spawn stops and then get in the boat. After that focus on killing every NPC you can. You will have to repair weapon during breaks from shooting and have full ammo of every type. Personally i start with fast ammo bcoz the first stages NPC's are far away and it makes ur range a bit better. When im out of 100 speed bullets i change to express. Dont do this mission on max difficulity bcoz it means no auto aim= less kills Doing this mision + moonshiner mission gives You about 2500 xp in 22-25 mins and lowers the price on your mash to 10 rdo$. In the same time as with the trader You wil get ~700 RDO$, some collector's items and ~10k xp !!!! Now the collector. Its the most profitable and xp wise role in the game. If you use maps provided in the internet you can lvl very fast and obtain large ammounts of cash. The problem is its boring, booooooring, booooooring. Running from point to point and picking up stuff kills me. I have soo many treasure maps in my inventory (max actually) and soo many in post box and cant force myself to collect them. Some ppl may like the collectiong but not me.1 point
