Closing this thread as it ran its course over a year ago before it was necro bumped and diverted from the original intention which was not as a tool to help some to troll others in-game nor on this forum.
For those wishing to create a posse, there is a sub forum for that but please remember that the same rules apply.
Welcome to the forum
After that statement i might even come back playing just to meet you out there. You cant even imagine... 😈
Are you on X box?
I had a "griefer" streak going from 250 to about 320 rank but honestly it gets boring fast. Currently rank 440 and stopped playing (waiting for new content i think in december this year).
So i was sticking with :
When i see you running towards me or too close to me you get shot. When i see you making a long delivery ill attack and take your goods. Otherwise i dont attack.
To be honest i like when some1 attack's me first and then i retaliate.
Come on guys where's the warm welcome for a new player that joined the site, took the time to read a 3 page topic that went to sleep over a year ago then posted his thoughts & ideas, sheesh we're better than this surely
Anyhow, welcome Tys, great to see some new blood joining the game & forums & also pushing some much needed AUS$ R*'s way - it's the only way the game can survive
Hopefully you'll breeze thru all the content & the 5 roles that the game offers generating huge amounts of Gold Bars doing Daily Challenges & RDO$ from quests, all whilst exploring a magnificently rendered game world with beautifully nuanced interactions with NPCs & quest givers
Hope to see you out on the plains or up in the snowy Grizzlies - just keep an eye out for Deacon's Regulators
Enjoy!
When considering R*'s attitude toward griefers, keep in mind they made a lot of money off of a game centered around bullying.
I'm old, haven't played PvP games since the 90's, probably never going to "get gud" or whatever the kids say, but, like some stated above, no mic, no chat = no fun for trolls. 😁
Oh, I didn't know it was a rule that we shouldn't do it. They aren't walking over me. I'm just taking the fastest way out of the nonsense.
It isn't a waste of time if they come charging up to within a few steps of me. Turn around, face them, and welcome them with open arms. I'm dead, back to what I was doing. No fuss, no muss.
I do have a life outside of the gaming world which takes up a lot of time. Therefore, whatever time I have for gaming is not time I want to be wasting on BS.
Oh awesome, thanks heaps for that tip that's very useful!
Last night myself and another players horse crashed in town. I then proceeded to shoot that player. We went back and forth, we feuded though I only had my shotgun attached and the play zone was on an open plain so I got smoked 4-1. When we respawned in town....I rode them down, shot their horse and then shot them.
Some members will be pleased to hear I was then hunted to extinction by 3-4 players and hassled relentlessly until I quit. It was good fun and I was still giggling to myself over the horse shooting incident as I was brushing my teeth and again when I got in to bed.
I don't think I've been clear enough, by griefing I simply mean killing somebody who is not hostile/just going about their business. That is acting as an outlaw. It's a game about the wild west. I do not mean following them across the map (in most circumstances) nor across servers. Just a bit of fun killing someone a few times, maybe feuding then leaving it be (if I win).
It's a game, relax. If you don't like other players shooting you then perhaps there are other titles that would suit your sensitivities. Calling people who get shot in a video game where that is both enabled and encouraged is just being overly dramatic. Again, it is a game.
Serious question, when a bear or cougar rips me off my horse and mauls me are they trolling/griefing or is it just part of the game?
