That's a good spot for them. Also i see cougar up there all the time at night. i was riding through there while i was playing last night, had 4 or 5 perfect boar hides, a few wolf hides, couple deer, and a the legendary fish from there i just caught. Of course i forgot to save after all that, and while riding down to the road from fishing at the falls the cougar jumped me. I said once before "Don't eat while riding your horse!" yeah i should have remembered that, fork in my mouth, controller on my leg, one hand holding the button to keep him going and push the stick to steer at the same time. Not a good outcome for Arthur, cougar won again.

They've only released 1 update since the game was released, that was what 2 weeks ago? so if this just started happening, i really doubt it's the patch. I would go with the cable first also. make sure it's got a good connection, not loose or wiggly, swap with another cable maybe, see if it happens still. Might be a setting that got accidentally changed in game or on the TV. check that out too.

Butcher Creek also has the resurrection glitch, unless that was fixed in the patch, i haven't been there since then. You kill them and before you can loot all the corpses they're spawning back in, at least they're friendly(ish) at first when they spawn back in so it's not an instant gunfight.

Congrats! i think i won't be able to hit 100% I'm having a hell of a time with the sharpshooter challenges. Might have to have my son do one of them for me when he comes home for holiday break, i'm not as coordinated as i used to be lol.

I've always thought those outfits with the large hats/hoods are kinda cheesey. I don't have a favorite outfit, i like parts of all of them mishmashed into one outfit. I wear The Dreamcatcher hat, The Dreamcatcher vest The Desperado Gloves, or the Beast of Prey gloves THe Night Wrangler half chaps, or The Ghost Bison half chaps If i'm hunting up north i'll wear the racoon cap that and the Ghost bison coat. I think i change my clothes in front of the trapper more than i do in the hotel/camp

That's where the saying "Playing Possum" comes from, they play dead. You even get the option to skin them while they play dead. First time i saw that i ran over one on my horse, jumped off and went to skin it, it jumped up and ran away, made me jump too lol. What i love, and hate, is the realistic animal sounds. I play mostly with my headset on, and when those grizzlies are hiding out in the fog near you and roar then charge you all in a split second, i about sh*t my pants. And the snakes! Walking through the brush to go get a herb and the first time i encounter a snake i get bit. Made me jump, yell (my son said i screamed, but really i yelled) and then laugh at myself for that. Not to mention my son went into hysterics laughing at me. Yep, i love this game

Legendary Antlers are used at the Fence for a trinket, don't think you can use them at camp, although i never tried. I did the trinket first, then went back and got another moose for the camp antlers.

i only went to camp to turn in the stuff for the camp and satchel upgrades and for the missions that start there.

save your horse in the stable, just put him in to save him. Then if you lose him somehow and he doesn't die (horses don't return from the dead) he should be back in that stable. I've had that happen with the legendary arabian. Start a mission and have to drive a wagon, then the horse back at camp was one i caught with the saddle on. Had to ride it to Valentine where i saved the arabian.

The people in the area aren't stupid, if you've committed a crime in that area before, and didn't change your outfit, or wear a bandanna/mask, they know who you are, so the one reporting the crime will turn you in. If you're working on maxing out the white honor, change your clothes often, always wear a mask/bandanna when doing anything that could be reported as a crime.

I've found 2 spots where a cougar will spawn almost every night. First one is just south of the cougar on the map @Diss has in the OP, when the road turns away from the creek and you get to the first little hill on the east of the road. I got my 5 cougars there for the hunting challenge. Ride around that spot, if there's bears or wolves nearby the cougar won't show. Kill those predators, leave the area and return for the cougar. Then i found there's another great spot in Roanoke Valley, where the road crosses the creek at the Legendary Moose area. There's a cougar on the west side of the creek almost every night. Ride in from the east on the road. Last time i got him there he ran down the tracks toward me, so I was able to study him then to finish that animal. All the other times they've ambushed me so i couldn't study them.

you equip the talisman, the trinkets are just passive bonuses, you can only wear 2 Talisman if i recall correctly. I'd make all the trinkets though so you get all the benefits. Alligator Tooth gives you %10 dead eye, i have the Eagle Talon equipped for now and the Boar Tusk since i haven't gotten far enough to get the alligator. I like those for hunting and doing the races.

I just finished step 4 last night, you can't do the last step until the epilogue if i recall correctly. Her last letter says she's going away for a bit. The Birds are simple, Go down to where the Dakota River empties into Flat Iron Lake (Bards Crossing). Ride up the river slowly from there keeping an eye on the boulders along the banks. Birds spawn on those boulders, you can get all your small birds there. Camp at Bards Crossing until morning, ride all day and camp again when it turns to evening, they don't spawn as much in the evening. And watch the sky, a lot of the birds will fly down to the river. Make sure you have the Legendary Buck trinket and use the varmint rifle, you'll get a perfect carcass almost every time. I farmed the river for birds from Bards Crossing around the bend by Caliban's Seat until you get to the trail crossing northeast of Diablo Ridge. I'd cross there and ride down the other side of the bank. Also if you ride out in the brush in The Heartlands, between Twin Stack Pass and Dewberry Creek, and east of the railroad tracks to Emerald Ranch, lots of birds fly over that area. If you're just looking for flight feathers that's a great place to shoot down birds. Also a good spot for the sharpshooter challenge 10 Oh and make sure if you get extra birds to sell them before you start the next part of her request. There's a glitch that if you have an item needed in the next request it won't trigger the mission.

Both times i saw them was in the woods just across the border from New Hanover into Lemoyne in Scarlett Meadows, the woods that run along the edge of Flat Iron Lake, evening/night is when you'll see them.

someone must have seen you then. I've hogtied and put people on my horse in town and didn't get a bounty, most anyone said was "i don't want any part of this" as they hurried away. The guy that He wanted to talk to me, went behind the general store in Valentine, threatened me, I beat his ass then hog tied him and tossed him on my horse. Rode down the main street in Valentine, like a walk of shame for this idiot, nobody turned me in. Until i turn the corner and rode into the pig pen then dropped him. That got a witness and i got accused of assault.

true but it's winter here, and was only 4 F when i left for work this morning. it's sleep clothes season.

When i get mad at my horse i get the cheap one from the stables you buy in the mission with Hosea at the beginning of chapter 2. Then i hitch him to a tree somewhere, and toss a stick of dynamite under him to see how far he'll fly. Makes me feel better and that dead horse is returned to the stable, so you don't have to buy another one. Don't do this with any other horse, except the DLC horse, all other horses have permanent death.
