  1. Well, just off the top of my head. The 1st reaction toward a hostile/annoying player player is to kill them.. So now, if the game doesn't consider you the aggressor at a specific moment when dealing with certain players, you kill someone and you end up losing rank/gear. So you will get real griefers.. Who actually know the ins and outs of the game mechanics. Trying to get players into a situation where they end up being the aggressor. Just to make them lose all their gear and ranks.

  3. Except, as I always point out. It can be used against you. Which is why, losing gear and progress would be a huge over step. Back on topic.. What would be awesome is a Survival mode. With one life, strictly free roam, start at level 1 when you die, no blips, no auto aim, where you can either kill someone and loot everything or tie them up and loot everything. You need to eat to stay alive.. That would be pretty nuts.
  4. I never claimed an esculation of griefing.. I claimed griefers would use everything added to their advantage. And that's true. Problem is, some of you confuse bottom feeders with griefers.. But as I've always said, there is no such thing as griefers. They are just players killers.. Some of them are idiots and some of them are highly skilled killing machines. Thing is this, I don't care if someone is in defensive mode, nothing can stop me from launching 50 explosive rounds up someones ass when ever I feel like it,, And that's the bottom line. Also I was replying to this comment. Which, as you said. Its not passive mode. And I was pointing that out.
  5. Just because you personally have not been killed much doesn't really mean anything, since players can still kill you.. It may have been the complete opposite for others. For me, nothings changed. I get shot at now a bit less as I did at the start of the beta. But that's mostly due to blips being less active.
  6. Its the same as its always been really. And there is no passive mode.. Only difference is defensive mode blocks auto aim and lassos'. And the blips make it harder for people to find players to creep up on. Also, theres no doubt that explosive ammo has also thinned the bottom feeders too. Nothings really stopping me from killing someone fishing.. Defensive mode doesn't prevent that.

  8. Honestly.. I think we agree on many things when it comes to Red Dead online. Its just that one issue really. You might as well just side with me on that one issue and increase the power level..

  10. Red Dead is GTA old wild west.. That's the entire appeal of the game.
  11. Red Dead is not a RPG and never was. Its and open world action/adventure game with a Wild West theme. And its main game mechanic is riding horses and shooting guns. Its a 3rd person shooter/1st person shooter depending on how you play it. I really don't care if people can't be bothered to shoot for themselves. I just should not be forced to play with them.. Its not fair, and at the same time makes content boring because the bulk of the content revolves around shooting. The biggest misconception about free aim is that you have to master it.. When the reality is, you just have to master it to be good at it. Not everyones good with free aim. its ok to miss. The missing of shots is what makes the shooting more intense. Because you can't just spam lock on at everything. Sometimes you have to run, sometimes you stop and pick shots. Some of my friends that I play free aim with suck at free aim.. but always enjoy it.
  12. I think the whole reason why the wild west is fun is because the comes down to lawlessness and surviving. But bounty hunting should exist. Instead of lawmen spawning out of bushes in waves. It really should be the players that deal out Justice. Guess we have to see how R* plays it out. Since bounty hunting is supposed to be coming. I think free aim lobbies need to be Hardcore lobbies. No offensive/defensive, no ability cards, no blips. But at this point id take anything without auto aim.
  13. Actually it does. No free aim lobbies.. No private lobbies. Is the biggest problem with this game. Free aim players are forced to play in sh*t hole auto aim lobbies. They have 'NO CHOICE". Other players who want invite only lobby, for what ever reasons they choose, also have no choice. And this is both from free roam, to pvp, to co-op missions. Lol? Intended result as in. Convoluted and makes no sense.? if that's the case then yes, that is the intended result. Hell I can do the wrong emote toward a friend, and an NPCs gets angry and im instantly out of Defensive mode. W …*facepalm
  14. …...Not talking about picking your own character. Im talking about more options to choose how to play the game. Someone like Net could play friendly free roam (where you can't shoot other players and they can't shoot you) or play private/nivite only. Even co-op missions.. While current RD O has better co-op missions. In old RD, you can choose to play in auto aim or play with free aim players only. You can play any co-op mission you want, anytime you want, with who ever you want. Be it public or private.. And you got paid a flat rate not time based. And really.. In current RD O, you can pick your aim style and still kill everything in the game. Infact, the bulk of the game centers around killing things. Its one thing to not like GTA O. GTA O has its own share of issues. But separate lobbies and more playing options are far better then defensive/offensive mode. Infact you're the only person I've seen that claims the opposite.
  15. You live in bizzaro world. Just sayin'. So Normal, Friendly, Private and Hardcore lobbies are crappier than Offensive/Defensive mode?
  16. The pvp games modes aren't fun. Especially with lack of actual lobbies and pvp game modes. And free roam pvp is much more personal. Theres more 1 vs 1. More freedom.
  17. That's pretty much it man.. Im pretty content myself. Its just R* doesn't not want to cross finish line... Alls they have doo.. is the simple littlest thing. I mean, when myself and few friends play free aim. Then we get attacked by auto aim users.. Now we gotta switch back to auto aim to battle against auto aim. We would love to play free aim pvp game modes.. But they don't exist. Hell, when R* adds the editor. How the hell am I supposed to make Movies in public games?.. I need private
  18. Nothing is stopping me from killing people aimlessly. Not that it matters.. If you actually played old red dead. You would instantly see what im talking about. This games current direction has no actual direction. Also.. I don't play COD. Not sure what COD has to do with anything. Id get kicked out after the 1st hour.. Unless the teacher was hot.
  19. Well I do, And I've played the holy hell outta OG RDR online.. GTA 4 and and GTA O. OG Red Dead had it perfect. Hell all the previous R* online game where better, since players had actual options on how to play the game online. That's why this idiotic all size fits mumbo jumbo science experiment needs to end. You may like being a on a leash.. This doggy don't.
  20. Not letting anything go. R* even stated if what they are doing doesn't work, then they will end up adding actual separate lobbies. So the last thing anyone should do, is let it go. Infact, they should be pressing R* even harder. Its impossible to have one size fits all in a game with auto aim, free aim mixed in.. while some players like hostile interactions and some don't It can't be done.. It still hasn't been done. Nothing is fixed.. And R* is wasting their time trying to force these convoluted ideas onto players like they are some sort of lab rats. They are trying to re-invent the wheel. When the wheel already worked fine.
  21. Eventually, some of those low level nothings will hatch into a ugly full grown hardcore griefer. And all you people acting like this defensive mode thing is a 'good thing. You'll want even more..changes.. Eventually, RDO will need full on gun control laws.
  22. You may have explained. R* explained. I know exactly how it works.. It just doesn't make sense. It has no actual point. Its just sort of exists, for no reason.
  23. Im sort of a realist. I don't really see the point of this offensive/defensive mode. Like. what is the actual point?.. If R* is so fixated on shoving everyone together. They should have.. 'Instead' of lobbies, added Auto aim/Friendly/Free aim modes. Not lobbies.. but modes, like offensive and defensive mode. Auto Aim. All players and npcs can be locked on to.. All players can lock on to you. Toggle on Friendly.. No player damage can be deal or taken. Free aim. You can't auto aim players or npcs. And players can't auto aim you either. That^.. would make more sense.. Although separate lobbies are always the best.
  24. Lack of distant blips and forced free aim on other players while using defensive mode is just thinning the weakest 'griefers' from the herd. So that's why it seems like it works.. Auto aim + Always on blips meant anyone with one working eye ball and a few fingers could easily kill anyone. The whole reason I want free aim lobbies., is to thin the herd even more. Already lost count on how many noobs tried attacking me while im in defensive mode and they whiff shots. They whiff so bad, that if I attack back I get punished for it, just because im in defensive mode. Like its my fault they miss...
  25. Its not about different experience.. Its about the reality of it. If something can happen, it will happen.. Can someone shoot you in the head while in defensive mode? The answer is yes.. Can a bunch of players posse up and spawn kill a player in a defensive mode? Yes.. I always go top down. Not bottom up. I really don't care about bottom feeding trolls who only get cheap kills on players. Its the actual skilled/experienced players who decide to be hostile that I will ONLY ever use as a comparison. That's why I always kind of laughed at people who complained about bottom feeder 'griefers'... that if there was a griefing scale those griefers would be at 1 or 2. I only look at 9 and 10's. Because they are the real threats.. And ain't no defensive mode going to stop them.
