How can R* ban griefing in a game that's basically centered around Wild West Gun Fights..? I point out R* stupidity all the time. But the only thing I offer as advice is private/invite only sessions (Which they already know players want) And a proper free aim mode for players that play free aim. (Which is also highly requested).. Honestly... You should report R* for being griefers. Because they are the ones griefing their players base by not giving players what they want in terms of lobby/game mode choices. Hell.. I think I may report R* to R*.
-
If they aren't worth the effort then why block and report them? That's a waste of time. Someone shooting you in red dead is not a violation of any rules.
-
You're wasting your time by walking up to them an letting them kill you. Surely shooting them OR avoiding them would be a quicker solution. At least shooting them back is more enjoyable. Seriously.. Laying down and letting someone walk all over you isn't how things are done in Red Dead.. I believe this clip right here, is the right attitude have.
-
Some players also kill other to exert dominance or just for the thrill of the kill.. And have no interest in you fighting back or getting a re-action. So serving yourself up on a silver platter doesn't change anything. Really don't see how anyone would just want players to kill them. That's against the code of conduct. This is Red Dead... You're supposed to fight back.

If the goal is grief griefers.. Then you must become one with hostility. Since that's the name of the game... As a wise anti hero once said.
-
That's because griefing as a word is over used. Kind of like the word, troll, problematic, toxic...etc. Some people are simply snakes in the grass.. Some people are just assholes. For me personally.. I don't care whats problematic. I can sniff a out a punk move from a mile away. I believe in treating others how you want to be treated. So if someone is being a an asshole, I just assume he or she, wants the same sort of treatment in return. And it simply turns into a game of one upmanship and top that

Still don't see how its naming and shaming. Maybe im wrong but... If I post a clip of something in game and it just so happens to show a players Gamer Tag.. Im not gonna go out of my way to blur their name out. Its just a game.. Naming and shaming is more about going out of your way to actually do that. Like "Stay away from this guy" and actually making a point about their gamer tag. Showing a game clip that just so happens to show someones gamer tag due to game play design, is pretty much the opposite of naming and shaming.
-
I don't think showing a video of a player that shows their gamer tag when that players is messing with you is naming and shaming. Think naming and shaming is when players make topics and rage about a specific Gamer Tags... and go out of their way to cry about specific players.

The way I see is is..

I pretty much agree.. Most of my encounters with players tend to be friendly. But its the hostile players that players end up remembering. Way I see it, theres different kinds of hostile players. The bottom feed low levels that are just messing around. And the high level hostile players that know every trick in the book. And then theres ones in posses. IMO. Slippery Bastard is golden. Last night.. Had a posse of players target my friend for no reason in Tumble Weed. I just came in full speed on my horse with slippery bastard, jumped off and started lacing all of them with explosive ammo. That battle must have went on for 40 mins. They only killed me twice. Watched them waste all their explosive ammo and arrows. They started sending me messages complaining about me abusing tonics and slippery bastard. So I told them.. 'Ok, I won't use tonics and slippery bastard, come at me'. … But I lied, and turned it back on, and shot the fool in the face who sent me the message. Oooooh the messages I got for that one.. Where just so salty and yummy. Meanwhile my friend who got shot in the back and started thise whole thing was busy fishing near black water.. And says "You still fighting those guys..lol"? Almost forgot how the whole thing started..
-
Well.. to be fair.. If players spent all their time practicing free aim on horse back, they would have mongo level skills too..lol Honestly.. Aiming with a controller is not easy.. but its not hard either. Its less about getting constant head shots and more about hitting any part of they target you can.
-
Can always add me.. GT Vooodu. Everyone I play with is pretty laid back and cool. So you're more than welcome to hit me up.

Well the dot still exists in auto aim. The dot represents where you're aiming. Free aim and real life shooting are next to the same concept. You manually draw your gun, aim at the target and shoot. Alls I can say is.. Try story mode with free aim only.. No doubt, after a few chapters, free aim just becomes much more natural. Your perception of how you approach every situation in free aim is the opposite of how you would with auto aim Its impossible to play auto aim constantly and get the feel of free aim instantly. That's why its takes a bit of getting used to. I was thinking about maybe trying to set up a Free Aim type of weekly event on xbox for co-op missions and stranger missions.. If people want to try it out. No pressure, no complaining. Honestly don't care how good someone is..
-
Well id have to disagree with that. Don't take my word for it, anyone can try it for themselves. The problem is the game forces all aim mode users into one type of lobby. Not only is free aim next to perfect its also more realistic. Its the players movement in 3rd person that's kind of clunky. In the end.. Even tho this game is mostly played by players using auto aim. Free aim is still king in pvp. Slippery Bastard can force players into a free aim battle, and if that player has no experience what so ever with free aim they get eaten up quickly. I myself have turned into a snake oil addict. I always have full snake oils and tonics and can strut around in slippery bastard for 30+ mins if I choose...and I have. So much so, I've made hostile trolls CRY about it. Like im cheating..

Well.. Heres hoping next week actually adds something besides Clothing and aaaaaaanother pvp mode. Wish R* would add some new horses. Not sure why its always clothing.
-
Good Job man.. Thanks for sharing.
-
Load your horse up with a bunch of animals and ride around like bait. That seems to bring out the trolls...lol. But you're right. It is fun. Sometimes the highlight of the night.
-
Well.. you had plenty of training in shooting, so shooting for you would be a lot easier then someone who didn't have any training. Which is basically why auto aim makes this game too easy on all fronts.. Free aim, with some practice, becomes much easier to use...just like shooting in real life. The dot simply represents where you're aiming. And at no point, can anyone.. Regardless of how good they are. Have the gun manually track and lock onto targets. No one has to fight gun lock on when picking targets in real life. With auto aim, a blind person can shoot a bird in the air while riding on horse back. With free aim, you have to actually slow down the horse or stop, then actually aim. Every shot counts. Only thing I can say is, you can tweak the dead zone/aim sensitivity to make free aim feel better. Even a few days of using free aim, its starts to feel more natural. Like I had to tell one my friends from work who was complaining when I got him to try auto aim. He says 'How the hell am I supposed to shoot things while on a horse". And I told him. "Calm down, slow down, stop then shoot.. OR ride as fast as you can and just blind fire'.
-
Free aim is pretty fun and makes the game more exciting. I call for free aim, mainly because free aim is not that complicated. It just takes a bit more effort than spamming Lock on. I know people who suck at free aim that still prefer free aim. Because auto aim is boring. In this game, even Stevie Wonder could shoot the wings off a fly at a 100 yards.
-
Ya, well I bet if they had auto aim and could instantly respawn... those numbers would be a hell of a lot bigger. Murdering lunatics are usually cowardly. But I bet plenty of people got shot in the back.. And then the person who frowned got shot too. I kill players horse all the time but for a good reason.. Because players choose to attack from a horse, just so they can get instant hats and keep their Never Without One going. I don't play that game. I do give them a few seconds to get off their horse, but.. Now this^... I mostly agree with.
-
This is 100% false.. ^ Even today, people go around killing people for no reason. Thing is, back in the old days.. You could get away with things much easier. I mean, theres plenty of unsolved murders from the 1900's. https://listverse.com/2016/04/12/10-still-unsolved-mysterious-murders-from-the-early-1900s/ sh*t happens.. And for the sake of this game. Even in single player. Theres crazy bastards that want to kill people for no reason. Swamp people, the skinners..for example.

The majority of the content is mostly co-op missions, races, captures, pvp modes and adversary modes. Especially user created content. For me.. I have a lvl two high level characters. Most of my money and levels where gained out of free roam. Guess it all depends what you want out of the game. Either playing CEO stuff like Stealing and selling cars or running a night club or playing other game modes outside of free roam. I did a mix of everything. But the bulk of my money came from out of free roam. Free roam is where I always lost money. Because insurance frees and ammo/explosives cost a lot.
-
Ya.. starting from scratch would be stressful if you wanted to progress and earn money in public sessions. Honestly.. R* probably wants you stressed out just so you by CASH CARDS, But if you played to just screw around and experience the game. Its not that stressful. I mean you could just run around flat broke, rob stores and give all your money to strippers and hookers.. Theres plenty of stuff to do if you ignore the grind.
-
I feel your pain. R* should have made specific lobbies for Bikers Crews. Which locked out military vehicles/weapons.. Also the always on blips is what the real problem was in public lobbies. Theres no reason to why randoms should see everyones blips at all times. Coupled with the next gen version adding quick menu ammo purchases means players can have an unlimted amount of explosives. Sticky bombs should have also been nerfed. And of course R* biggest botch, Free Aim Assisted aim. The amount of DUMB in some choices in game design is mind blowing. They get so much right and make such and amazing looking/feeling world. Then screw up the most simplest things that screw up game play.. Which they seem to be also doing in RD O.

Im not sure what that means? Whats useful? Games are meant to be played for fun. Sure some of the business missions are blocked off in private. But that makes up a small percent of GTA Os content. I was mostly part of a racing crew and a pvp crew in my 5 years of playing GTA O. Made most of my cash in private lobbies. So I didn't really care either way about most of R* business missions. Also.. I made all my movies in Private Sessions. I liked to get super baked and make stupid movies.. Like this. No way in hell I could this in public lobbies... Since its a mix of footage from Story mode, Online Private Lobbies and Online Private Capture Created Lobbies.
