Shooting 1st is never the best option. This might just make someone who was just passing by, become your worst enemy for the rest of the session. And usually, good pvp players won't shoot 1st. If someone is riding at you with no weapons drawn. Play it cool. If someone is riding at you with weapons drawn but relaxed. Play it cool or draw yours and relax. If someone is riding toward you with weapons drawn and ready. Then shoot 1st. On foot with no weapons drawn.. relax. On foot with weapons drawn, relaxed or not. Probably better to shoot 1st. Always watch you back, (Spin the camera if the pass by) Because some are snakes in the grass and will shoot you in the back. Also.. try talking to them. IMO people should force themselves to play PVP modes as much as they can. And focus on dying as least as possible but still getting kills. This helps take the edge off in free roam encounters.

Oooh please. This has nothing to do with crying or wanting things easy. This game doesn't have private or invite only lobbies. Doesn't have Free Aim lobbies .. All which is TOP PRIORITY. Yet.. R* adds its shop to sell gold bars.. (24 hours after nerfing gold payouts in missions)

R* really has some balls putting up the store before getting out of beta..

The Varmint rifle is over rated. The simple counter is to not engage in wide open/run and gun type combat with auto aimers that use the varmint rifle. ONE shot with a bolt action and express rounds to any part of the body will leave them open for a simple kill with any gun next shot. And use ability cards that block head shot kills.

Ya but its R* that gives the trolls the tools needed to easily be di*ks with. I mean i don't work for R*. But it doesn't take a genius to see that always on blips and auto aim is meat grinding made easy. Just look at GTA O. Its clear R* likes trolls because it it hinders it screws over players trying to make money and hopefully pushes them towards cash cards. And in RD O. You got missions, for example the Bonnie Missions.. one is find and hunt the bear. So after tracking it down and killing it, the game decides to show everyone on the map you got a bear pelt and encourages people to come and get it... When it should NOT show anyone anything because its none their business.

The simple solution to fix trolling/griefing is private/invite only lobbies and free aim lobbies. And remove the always on blips. Its not really more complicated then that. I don't want to see R* add all these hurdles and punishments to the game that can be used against players who enjoy defending themselves and fighting back against griefers/trolls.

Doesn't work in free roam. In free roam you're kind of stuck dealing with the pests. I still don't know why people bother reporting players. Its R* fault, not the trolls.

Did you check your settings? Also what mission? If its one of the sniper rifles missions, you can't use auto aim.

I saved a griefers horse last night...lol After he blasted a friend of mine in the back of the head. We then killed him about 5 times in a row. I mistakenly sniped his horse while he tried to get away. Ran over there and saved his horse. He stopped shooting at us and started doing waving emotes. We then all went over to the Tumble Weed Bar.. drank and had bar brawls...lol

Ya.. thats the only logical reply. People who report them are wasting their time If i get killed for no reason from a distance or shot in the back.. I reload my rifle and revolver with express rounds and just start killing back and i really can't stop. I'll just keep killing them for hours if i can. If they are just playful trolls, then i play back. I try not to go too over board and have fun with em. For me theres a big difference between roof top snipers in town compared to someone who runs up and tries to hog tie or start a fist fight.

Whaaat? Whaaaat does this even mean? Theres nothing overly complicated about this game. And the pace of the game is up to to the player. You can't complain about not making 'progress' if you stop playing the game. IMO this is the best game i've played in years.

Myself and a friend where riding and noticed someone go off little cliff and her horse was dying. "Alls i heard her saying was "DAMN IT!" "sh*t!" So we both ride up to her.. And shes says, "Great you bastards to here to kill me" While she pulled out her guns and aims at us. So i says "Relax babe, just gonna help your horse" and gave her horse a horse reviver. And just like that made a new RDR friend. Hooked her up with all my old skool GTA O friends, so she doesn't haven't to roll solo anyomore. And showed her a place to get piles of horse revivers. .

Diving doesn't make you immune to being shot. Diving does break auto aim lock ons.. Are you saying auto aim is realistic? The fact that you think using diving to break auto aim lock ons is an exploit is kind of funny tho.

Some Ability Cards null head shots/reduce head shot damage. (So go for body shots) And lag.... can cause issues.

Im still praying for Free Aim. If not, il keep grinding till i get Slippery Bastard. And il just force everyone who shoots at me into playing free aim whether they like it or not..lol

Thats because focusing on the main story keeps it fresh and feels like a TV series.

Ya they still spawn. Not sure what triggers it tho. I just look for smoke in the distance.

Doing missions or gang hide outs with a bow or special ammo seems to really pull in some nice xp.

What does being too cold in Online do to the player? Anyone know?

I think at the moment people are looking at quick fixes to trolling, but in more of knee jerk reaction type of fix. And not thinking it all the way through. I've seen a TON of bad ideas.. Some even getting floated around by popular gaming websites/youtube channels. All of which, when i read what they ask for. I can easily flip it around and use it against players. Kind of like Insurance in GTA O. Insurance/bad sport was added to punish players who destroy your vehicles. Problem was, players would simply jump in vehicles and use it to troll/attack players. And when players being attacked defends themselves and destroys the vehicle, they had to pay money and get bad sports points.

Actually I said.. So when 3 players ride full speed to my exact location with guns out.. I have a reason. The game should not punish players for defending themselves.

Alot of people are farming police in St Denis. A friend of mine was doing that last night and gained 10 levels fairly quickly. I personally don't care much about levels as i got my favorite guns already.
