    Vaping?

We legalized recreational pot in Michigan last election. (70%) I was only hopping to be able drop a couple of seeds in the garden so that Grandma buttlint could make her famous brownies for the Christmas holidays. The grand kids love them and it calms them down when they are waiting for Santa. The funny thing is that all of those folks that were so against pot, for all of those years, are now converting their IRA's for pot stocks. Investing in weeds is always a solid financial plan.๐Ÿ‘

    Vaping?

With more and more states legalizing medical and recreational marijuana, it will be interesting to see how the medical community deals with that. When medical pot was started in my state, I asked my cardio what he thought about it. He was clueless. How could I blame him? He probably never smoked a joint in his life. (Or didnt inhale.) There has to be a huge learning curve for them. What strains are they going to recommend for what ailments? Sativa's or Indica's? THC/CBD ratios? Methods of ingestion? What are the side effects? Calls in the middle of the night with patients asking if they are ever going come down! This country has had its head up its butt for so long and thought that "Just say no" was going to make it all go away. We pittered away decades failing to do any honest research and learn the facts. Vaping is in the same boat but on a shorter timeline.

    Vaping?

I think that most doctors haven't a clue what vaping is about or are afraid that it's their ass if they even mention non-AMA approved. Some doctors are just lazy a-holes that don't want deal with anything that isn't their specialty. My cardiologist has been very understanding with me. He doesn't give me condescending lectures about the dangers of smoking. No scare tactics. He knows I've heard it a thousand times before, so we just cut the crap. I tried Chantix a couple of times. He has asked me about vaping several times. He hints its a better option but wont step over the line and I wont ask him to. (He has kids to feed) He also gets that I am a 70 year old man that's been smoking for 55 years.....and the damage has been done. My step father was a hardcore alcoholic that spent years in treatment centers until he finally cleaned up. He once told me that quitting smoking was far worse than quitting vodka. He quit both habits. My brother had a 10 year heroin habit and has been clean for 20 years....just cant give up the cigs. My brother in law started vaping a month ago. His doctor told him that his blood/oxygen went way up...in less than a month. Says he feels a lot better too. I picked up a mod last week. Coughed my guts out. I bought a low nicotine/ high VG blend today. Much better. Its a work in progress. I got nothing to lose. I have gone to a couple vape lounges to pick up supplies. Lots of cloud chasers puffing strawberry shortcake scented dew. They had a Peewee's Playhouse vibe about them. Nicely dressed suburban folks looking chic. I didnt stick around to mingle.
  4. Speaking as an old that still thinks that the cellphone is the devils passport to hell, I think I will tap out on this new line of bs. I am currently running 3 tvs, 2 phones, 2 laptops, a media server ,tablets, assorted smart stuff on my internet connection. I am pretty much maxed out on speed and bandwith with what my ISP offers and now I need another data hog on my connection for gaming. On top of that, I get to pay another subscription fee for the privilege of playing untested beta experiments and garbage games that even PSN wouldnt bother with. That ole SS check sure is gonna get strained. Lets see............Is it BP meds or Fortnite 7 this month? These boiled potatoes without butter sure are tasty!
  5. Google Stadia game system Personally, I think this would suck. Any opinions?
  6. Excellent! The game is nagging me if I want to update. I have refused but its nice to know the update doesnt totally kill the fun. There were about 10 different routes you could use and I doubt they patched all of them. I tested one of the south points today (the river) and it still works. If you are trying to make a "clean run" (without using cheats) I believe there is a herd of native horses in that area. I went as far as taming the horses that I came across and leaving them on that side of the map. That way I always had a horse available and ready to go when I needed one. All I had to do was whistle and I was back in the saddle again. I cant pin point where the herd is but I am pretty sure I got the picture below from that area. You could always walk south because there is a herd at the west cave entrance.
  7. Hello fellow explorer!๐Ÿ˜€ That is a pity that they locked up that port of entry, I had avoided any updates but I am not sure if that worked or not. I havent played in a month and should probably try a run and see if they still open. I used 4 different spots on different runs. 2 northern, 1 west and 1 southern. I liked the north entrance the best because you can bring your own horse and it felt like the least "cheaty" way of doing it. From that point, you can travel either east or west and pick your poison of what parts of the route you want to get thru first. It really sucks when you are 90% done and die as opposed to being 10% done and starting over. Either direction works but the challenges are different. I used the southern entry point quite a bit. That involved an insane amount of walking, but it got me through the hardest part of the quest, fastest. Figuring out that particular part of the route was the key to solving the puzzle. I spent days making the same mistake over and over again. When I had that key part down, I knew that all I had to do was make a clean run. I did use the horse cheat a couple of tries on the southern route just to save time until I understood what the problem was. There is another method to obtain a horse without a cheat but it involves some major setup and I was too burned out to use it. Beside that, I wanted my victory lap to be on a great horse that I tamed on an earlier run. He was a strong swimmer and saved my ass many a time during our adventures. He was a native "other sider" and I thought he deserved the honor. I havent touched the game since then, but I may give it another go later to see if it is still possible. I enjoyed the other side as much I did the main game. Avoiding the mesh was just one aspect that soon became second nature. Knowing just how much the mesh can take was part of the challenge. I treated it like quicksand. There are plenty of other challenges and surprises involved, but I will keep them to myself. It got just as immersive as the main game and perhaps even more intense. It's just you and your horse and one false step or wrong decision means game over......start again....you just do it or you don't. No platinum trophies....no squat. The only bragging right you get is......you were the second guy to do it.๐Ÿ˜
  8. This is an old thread but is very near and dear to my heart. (12/28/2018) I am sure nobody cares but I have since completed my quest, I took me over a month of pretty intense game play to do it and was waaaaaaaay more difficult than I had anticipated. Ii was also a tougher task than anything I faced in the game. The premise is simple: Jump off the map, navigate around the outside the of playable map back to the point where you started and get back to the main map without dying. Don't use any cheats except for a "get off the main map glitch". (I don't know if R* has patched any of those glitches since I did it but I doubt they did,) There are no roads or bridges and the map is both helpful and useless. One mistake and its game over.....start all over again. The game shows no mercy. You either make the correct decisions at each challenge or you die, get caught in traps or quit out of frustration. There is a ton of backtracking, navigating and understanding the landscape. It may have taken me more than 50 attempts but I proved to myself that it was possible. It also extended the game and felt like the dlc that R* isn't going to provide....for free.
  9. We used to call that "bumping your birdie". I dont know what the etymology is, but we did it a lot. Burnt cheese scraps is a favorite. (found on pizza boxes and dirty casserole pans)
  10. I really liked Fallout 5, especially the building aspect of the game. I would be tempted but as Kean pointed out, there is nothing but negative reviews. But then there is this! The guy builds a maze, kindly invites people into his maze, then lets his pet Deathclaw rip them a new one. Genius!
  11. I would say that this game hit the sweet spot for old farts. Too old for Fortnite..............and to young for nursing home Nintendo.
  12. Sorry, I didnt realize that the Murfree brood cave was still in play after the main story. There are several walkthru's available online that can provide some tips. (search Murfree Brood cave) I used stealth with arrows for as long as I could and then some dynamite. The rest was six guns and watching my health.
  13. If I recall correctly, there was nothing stopping you from going into New Austin, you just had to be one bad-assed hombre or a sneaky sob to survive over there. I dont believe that there were any barriers but the NPCs were intense and not interested in collecting "alive" bounties.
  14. That is a solid piece of advice. I am also an old fart and have learned to use the pause button to my advantage. It gives me some time to plan out my stratagy and think about my next move and how to execute it. I can check my health and make mental notes of where the "red dots" are and generally just get my sh!t together for the next assault. I dont let the game rush me. If I get killed it doesnt bother me.....I use it as a preview for my next attack. Sometimes I will just run like hell through the action to get an idea of what I am up against. If it takes me 9-10 times to get thru a fight, so what? I'm retired. Trophies be damned! I went from computer games (keyboard) to console games (joystick). It took me awhile to adapt. I have punched my horse more than I would like to admit. I still have to write down basic controller commands because my memory is trash. My crib sheet saves some time and frustration. I keep my moves as basic as possible and I dont care if my horse can drift or not. "Shoot, run, hide......I have no pride" is my motto.
  15. I've played all but Skyrim but let me narrow this down to Fallout 4 so I dont have to spend the day typing. Open? Why cant I build anything outside of a settlement in Fallout games? Maybe I want to start a whole new settlement of my own. Why cant I scrap out cars or wood that I find along the road? I cant plant crops outside of a settlement. The map might be larger but it isnt anymore open than red deads map. Even Minecraft, with its 30 million blocks, is limited by being 90% water. As far as "real" goes (real/open)......Nothing in that game seems "real".
  16. Could you please name a game that matches that criteria? I would be interested in playing it.
  17. Saddle sores and hemorrhoids would be a far bigger concern. Pig lard and wild mint might help.
  18. PS4 and Xbox are now over 5 years old. Why write or rewrite games for a console that you know may not be around in 2 years? Maybe save your killer box set for the next gen of consoles? (Red Dead 3, 2 and 1 with 10k graphics and a machine that can push it.) We all waited 7 years for RD2 and I would bank that we would pay whatever Rockstar would ask for the box set. Why sell it now if you can wait a couple of years and make twice as much?
  19. Never mind.๐Ÿคจ Using cheats is a clear violation of a glitchers code of ethics.
  20. Good luck on your quest my friend! I have been to Guarma many times and have used many different routes. Every canoe I have ever found on that side instantly sinks. I would heed his advice about the route when you first start out in the canoe. What I cant wrap my brain around is how did he get the wagon over there? If I see you over there I will wave.....so please dont shoot me.
  21. How? I know of the "out of map wagon glitch" but that happens on the direct opposite side of the map from Annesburg. (No way in hell you can get a wagon to the other side of the map from there) Is there another wagon glitch that dumps you on the east side of the Lannahechee river? It says in the video to "first do the out of map glitch....(Tutorial in description)" Where can I find this tutorial?
  22. I wasnt crazy about the Guarma trip. It kind of killed the western vibe and felt like I was playing any version of Farcry. I would have preferred to have spent that time in Sisika Prison picking up bars of soap off of the shower floor.
  23. Allowing cheats would inflate stats and devalue achievements. If you are involved in tournaments or collecting trophies, those things mean something. R* is saying that you can cheat all you want but you are not going to puff up your stats while doing it. Sony cares too. Leader board standings mean something to some people.
  24. I was a big fan of RDR1 Poker lobby but none of the other aspects of online play. After several months of that, it went downhill pretty quickly. What started out as adult fun turned into teaching obnoxious 12 year olds what beats what. I am an old. When I started gaming, high speed connections were rare and sporadic. If 10 people were dumped into map, 5 might have 56k modems, some might have 1mbs dsl and others would have 3mbs cable connections. Guess who got their asses kicked? Mix in some lag switches and just bad game programming and you had a recipe for garbage. I just learned to live without online gaming. I kicked on my PS3 for giggles and saw that RDRonline was still a thing. I played a couple of games of poker with one other person. Then I stood around for waiting for a new game to start, which never happened. The game is still free to play and Sony doesnt get its 10 buck a month cut. Nothing pi$$es an old man off more than paying for nothing. When gaming companies started selling "beta" as products, old guys clinched their fists and shook them toward the sky! Beta used to mean, "Play a free game so we can work the bugs out." Now it means, "Play a buggy game and make us some gold bars. And if you dont like this.....go play Fallout 76". I follow the online forum also. When I see that R* has added some features and completed making the game, I will give it a look. Of course, everyone else will be at level 743 and I will be at level 1, so maybe not.
