  1. Parzival knows. An older cat might be a better option. Insane is the default setting for kittens. If they are home alone all day long, they sleep. You cant really expect them to sleep 23 hours a day. They got cat stuff to do at night. Try and keep them up and active during the evening. Eventually they learn when bedtime is. Declawing clears up the shredded furniture problems but starts forum wars. It's not a behavior problem, its hardwired and it almost looks orgasmic for them. Ours has always been clawless and he still goes nuts on a scratching post.
  2. With the PS5 supposedly being backwards compatible it might be better just to wait it out. On the other hand, we really dont know what this new backward compatible really means. If it means that we can just pop in our old games and play, that will be great. It's not that I have any distrust of the gaming industry, but what if they do something like, say....."You can use your old games, but we need to have a small $10 fee to send you a patch to make that possible." (I am a "thrifty" old guy and would tell them to stick it, and play it on my PS4 out of spite.) I was happy that I kept my old PS3, and didnt sell off my old games, and I was able to play the original Red Dead Redemption again. I could play online, without going through the Playstation Plus network and paying their fee. Sure....the old network wasn't as slick the newer game version, but it was free and I could piss away a little time playing poker before they added it to the new game. I also have games that I would like to revisit that I havent played in 10 years. For me, I still see some value in owning a PS4. It still doesnt seem that outdated and there are plenty of cheap, good games available.
  3. Yea, we're still here. You might be confusing us for Niclelback fans. Those folks went brain dead years ago. You spoke to soon.
  4. Waiting in line at a store while the guy at the front of the line scratches off the lottery tickets he just bought.
  5. I have both stomach problems and an alcohol problem. For several months I have been using almond milk in my White Russians instead of milk or other dairy products. Although it doesnt have the richness and full flavor of the original recipe, after the first one, it really doesnt matter to me. I would call it acceptable to my taste buds. If its good with your digestive system, give it a try. It's not like your going to be chugging down a half gallon of it a day for an entire year. I like eggnog too but I can only take so much of it around holiday time. Its not my beverage of choice after cutting the grass on a 90 degree day.
  6. We produce about 200 million metric tons of pumpkins in my state. We carve 36 of those pumpkins into jack-o-lanterns and hide the rest of them in everything we eat. We don't have a solid bowel movement until February but our farts smell like the candle department at Bed Bath & Beyond.
  7. No black briefs or gray pajamas? Here ya go. Happy Halloween!
  8. The wife will be putting on her student nurse outfit and I will be wearing my batman suit. Just like any other Thursday.
  9. When my disk got greasy, I would rub it off with a soft sock on my hand. (Warm socks, right out of the dryer were the best.)
  10. This game was released Oct. 26, 2018. Time flies when your having fun.😁
  11. Rockstar sees when you when you're sleeping. They know when you're awake. They know if you've been bad or good. So don't glitch for heavens sake! Set your PS4 not to automatically update your programs and you can glitch your brains out in story mode. Do it online though and nobody will like you.
  12. My usage is very similar to yours except we have 2 people with very different tastes in television viewing habits, meaning that there are usually 2 tv's running at the same time during evening hours. We do no online gaming and no newsgroup downloading. I've noticed that our usage has jumped about 200 gigs a month since we have switched from Sling to Hulu and Netflix. We went from 300/400 gigs to 500/700 gigs a month. (We have a 1TB cap.) Before we started streaming, 3 years ago, we would have been hard pressed to use 250 gigs a month, but streaming and settings chew that up in no time.
  13. I dont think you have mentioned if your looking at PS4 or Xbox. Those versions are down to 35 bucks at the boxes. I dont think you find much of a discount in the used market as people are still playing the online version.
  14. I am guessing that they are not only working on getting the next game ready but they are busting their humps to get that game ready for the next platform in consoles. (PS5) From all reports, that's only a year away. I am pretty sure that these guys aren't going start making games a month before the new machines arrive. Now, is lead time.
  15. That would be nice to play the older games although I am not sure after seeing "ray tracing" (like I know what that means) I could go back to the present standards. It's like playing the original RDD currently on my PS3 with its slow response and clunky graphics. In its day, I couldnt imagine that gaming could get any better. Low and behold, 10 years later, I feel like I am playing Doom on a 486 computer. It's still a great game but I would much rather be playing a remastered version on a PS4 or PS5. The older games wont have the newer tech built into them to take advantage of the new features. I would imagine playing a PS3 game would play the same on a PS5. You're right about some PS4 titles that look interesting. My cynic nature tells me that these games might not show up until about the same time as the new gen of consoles show up. (Remember the year delay with Red Dead 2?) I am pretty good at waiting for things but I'm also 70 freaking years old! That being said, I'll probably be the old fart standing in line behind you at Best Buy. Just 2 old guys with gaming boners hoping they wont run out PS5's.😛
  16. I was PC gamer for 20 years before I went to a PS3 console. Part of the fun was building the rigs to play the games until it reached the point where every new game required a hardware or software upgrade to play it. If it wasnt a memory upgrade, then it would be a video card upgrade. If not that, then a faster processor and new motherboard. Direct X was always a PIA, As time moved on, overclocking and cooling fans were the rage. Bigger monitors, Kleptch 5.1 sound systems and on and on. It got stupid when maybe one good game a year got ported to PCs and all the rest were console games. It was huge relief when I finally gave into console gaming. Just plug it in, throw in a disc and go to it on 60 inch screen. Now, it seems like I am in the same position as before. PS4 was released in 2013. My main motivation for buying it was RDR2. I did get some joy out of Fallout 4 and a little less from Farcry 5, but other than those, the rest was filler. Until the PS5 is here, I dont expect any companies will be releasing anything good until then. With the apparent death of single player, stand alone games impending, I dont know if I am in on that. On the other hand, I fired up the original RDR on my old PS3. You can still play RD online and without paying Sony. (Free) The servers are still working but I mostly ran across folks that didnt speak English. (The one guy that did speak English was a Ukrainian fellow. Turns out, he just wanted me to trade him some guns for information on Arthur Morgan.) The leap between PS3 and PS4 gaming is amazing. When you play both versions of Red Dead, side by side, you can understand why horse stacking became so popular in the original game. (The horses are uncontrollable a$$holes in the original game. Shooting them doesnt make you feel bad....at all!) If the jump from PS4 to PS5 is as striking, it should blow our socks off. Same for Xbox.
  17. Well, If they ain't got anything to sell, then we got nothing to buy. Put the disc in its case, stick it on the shelf and five years from now, fondly remember what a great game it was.
  18. I started my career as a motorcycle mechanic in the late 60's. American, Japanese and British bikes all had different standards. I have always had to maintain 3 different tool boxes, 3 separate sets of taps and dies, plus all of "special tools" that each manufacturer required. Torx bits were just adding insult to injury.
  19. I will give you my 40 ouncer when you pry it from my cold, dead hand!
  20. Please accept my apology in advance if any of the following turns out to be total bullsh*t. Upfront, I am a story mode only player and to cheap to play online. But....if you think that jumping the map might be some fun, maybe these tips might help you, If not.......print it, shred it and flush it. All of my tests were done in single player mode and I can only assume that they work in the online mode. How to get off the map. I tried this in single player mode, and really didnt have the patience to keep slamming my head against a brick wall. Instead......I walked up to the entry point, stopped, and started slamming gin, rum and moonshine until I passed out. That got me off the map and I didnt have to deal with any "sticking point". I just walked west, away from the border and I was free to roam wherever it wanted. The original authors said they were forced to walk? In single player, there are two herds of horses due north of the entry point. Tame one and you are off to the races. (I have those spots marked if anyone is really interested.) I assume again, that online will work the same as single player. If you are really hot to go to Guarma again, head south. I've heard that R* has already screwed that plan up with black screens. Even if they didnt, that's a tough trail to take. Just lots of things to deal with. If you must go, try it in single player first, you will learn to hate " going to Guarma" real quick. My advice is "go north young person". It's far more interesting than anything in the south. Scenery, animals, danger and interesting stuff. Avoid the mesh, slippery slopes and product updates and its something else to do. If these tips work for you, let me know. If they dont, I will just STFU.
  21. Maybe they should stick with gunslinging.........drowning in a mudhole is a pretty rookie move. 🤣 This is how you do it.
  22. Is that in Farenheit? I use Celcius. 100 celsius = 212 farenheit. Boiled alligator anyone?
  23. If we're going to typecast............... (the guy on the right)
  24. That fish was hungry for swivels.🤐
