  1. This only pumped me up even more. I just watched it today because I didn't really have time when it released, as I was traveling on business. I love increased social interaction, whether that's by scaring bystanders, hanging out with the gang, or even attempting to bond with your horse. BTW, I think Morgan's voice is so much more badass, even though I loved Rob Weithoff as Marston. Morgan has more of a deeper voice with a heavier Southern accent. ????
  2. So I'm lucky enough to have Xbox, PS4 and a 6700K/GTX1070 PC, but I oddly prefer the Xbox ecosystem. I've been pretty blase about Sony products ever since the PS2 forced the Sega Dreamcast to come to an end, even though I adored my PS1. I was a huge Sega fanboy. Hopefully, in the future all gaming will be cross-platform, and this kind of nonsense will end. I want to play RDR2 on my Xbox One X, but I don't want to have to question whether or not I can play with people on PS4. It's all bullshit.
  3. I'm going to have to say no on this idea. In fact, I think Rockstar has ironically poked fun at this element of RPG's before with the Men's Room in GTA IV. At 7:20, Jeremy talks about "Online-Me.com" where he can "build himself a character", "watch him go to the bathroom" and "sleep". And in all seriousness, I'd rather keep these elements out of the game, aside from mock activities, where they don't actually affect gameplay progress. I think ideas like this are best left to PC mods, much like the "Gas Mod" for GTA IV and V.

    Western Films

I will definitely add those, especially Silverado and the Propostition, but I've never heard of Bone Tomahawk. Also, considering it has Kurt Russell, I'm definitely down to watch. Don't even get me started, because I imagine that this movie is what RDR2 Online will look like in about 6 months. Steampunk giant spiders roaming the desert griefing other players. ???? I think what's awesome about this film is not just how good it is, but also how it spiritually represents Clint Eastwood's swan song and departure from Westerns, almost as if William Munny is the sum of all the characters he played in previous roles, but now old, retired, and just as mean. I literally just finished Assassination of Jesse James. That was terribly emotional conflicting. On one hand, Jesse James was a criminal and not the myth he was often portrayed as, and on the other, Robert Ford was just a sad story in and of itself. Great movie, though.

    Western Films

Ok, so I wanted to get a discussion on some of the best Western films of all time, and possibly suggestions of ones I have not yet considered. I'm on a marathon of Western films that should last through October in order to pump me up for RDR2. Before the marathon, Tombstone was my favorite, but ever since I watched Once Upon a Time in the West, that is now my favorite. Also, of all the movies, No Country for Old Men is my favorite movie, but I wonder if people consider this a real Western? I think it has all the right elements of a Western, as well as There Will Be Blood. Prior to the marathon, I had already seen: Tombstone The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly Dances With Wolves True Grit (2010) Unforgiven The Magnificent Seven (1960) 3:10 to Yuma (2007) And some arguable neo-Westerns such as: No Country for Old Men The Revenant There Will Be Blood My current marathon has consisted of: Fistful of Dollars A Few More Dollars Stagecoach The Outlaw Josey Wales Once Upon a Time in the West True Grit (1969) The Hateful Eight To be watched: Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid High Noon Rio Bravo The Man Who Shot Liberty Vance The Assassination of Jesse James Pale Rider High Plains Drifter Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnndddddddddd some music!

  8. I just realized the Collectors Box was separate from the Ultimate Edition. >mfw
  9. *ehem* It's called a satchel. Indiana Jones wears one.
  10. I'm pretty sure she's in the Trailer you note. She even sounds the same, if she is, in fact, voiced by the same actress. The only difference I see is in eye color. The hair, brow line, nose and lips are pretty identical, though. Plus, they've already revealed Marston on multiple occasions, so I assume this is the one "hero" shot we've been given of her.
  11. We would've known immediately once we started playing, anyway, because Marston was in the gang. From what I can tell, this about Dutch's gang being split in two over the bank robbery that causes Marston to eventually be caught by the Feds. When Dutch is faced with turning himself in, he abandons Marston, causing a rift within the Dutch gang. I'm assuming that Arthur breaks off, along with a few others against Dutch. I'm also pretty sure that the woman who says "he'll never change," in the 3rd trailer is Abigail Marston, because Abigail was a prostitute who often hung around the gang, which also leads me to believe that Dutch envied Marston, therefore selling him out to authorities. In the original RDR, Dutch makes a few backhanded compliments to Marston about Abigail, implying there's some kind of history between them. That's just my theory...
  12. I would say 'no' for your average consumer. If you're a collector, however, then yes. I love RDR more than any game, even GTA, so I got the Ultimate edition.
  13. I understand how that might seem like common sense, but one must consider the unintended consequences, and there are many. Toxic gun culture aside, the rationale behind the US Second Amendment carries a lot of noble and philosophical weight. There are principles behind the amendment, some of which include self-preservation and the ability to defend against government tyranny. Unfortunately, this message can often be distorted by both toxic gun culture and gun-ban advocates, either by claiming they have a right to own an Assault Rifle or that a civilized population should never need them. I think both are wrong.
  14. This is the problem, right here. How do we come to any agreement upon it? Problem is, you have too much noise coming from the far extremes, that it drowns out any sensible discussion. This is mostly why there is never any sensible discussion on the subject. Attention is given to the wrong things, and since the media needs to grab views/readers attention, it often distorts and gives undue attention to things that don't deserve it. When media amplifies the signal, things that may seem important are most likely unimportant. Many psychological tests have been administer to demonstrate this. For example, following a large incident in which a bomb went off in Germany, media reports stated that the suspect was a right-wing extremist. When polling asked what citizens thought was the most important issue of nation, right-wing extremist shot from less that 0% to 35%. Likewise, following 9/11 in the US, terrorism and national security became the most important issues facing the nation by an outstanding 75%. As time went on, and the issue faded from out attention-span, those numbers declined. Media companies know this human attention flaw, and they often exploit it for their own gain.

    Anyone exercise?

So I run and weight train on even and odd days. Running is actually a great way to get started, and the added health benefits are even better. Even if you're not much of a runner, maybe just do a certain distance at any pace you feel comfortable with; maybe a mile. As you begin to feel more comfortable with the pace, push yourself incrementally over time and/or distance. Eventually, you'll be running marathons. As for weights, this requires understanding what muscles to work out, and how to work them. Bodybuilding.com should have extensive information regarding this. But even with this, you can also make incremental baby steps in improving your weight per rep. Mentally, I think some people get ahead of themselves and think they have to be running 5 miles a day or bench-pressing 200 lbs to make any difference. Don't do that, you'll fail before you even begin. Baby steps are the way to making it work. That should at least keep you interested until it becomes habit forming.
  16. Nice purchase. I think this is the UJ6300 in the US, which is a good TV, especially given the low input lag for gaming. Thought about buying it, but I ultimately went with a TCL 4K TV.
  17. Yes, mine is rooted. It's pretty straightforward, if you follow the directions. Some developers actually create simple programs to make it even easier, depending on the phone you have. I have Magisk root installed. It protects the SafteyNet so that you can continue to use AndroidPay. It also has some nice tweaks, like the non-ad with background-play YouTube app. Certainly worth it, in my opinion.

    Anyone exercise?

I do, all the time. Are you just looking to lose weight, or put on some muscle? I'm not sure what kind of neck issues you have, so I wouldn't want to recommend anything that might make it worse.
  19. Ummm, I think I had one of the first ones, then had a 3GS, and then a 4. After that, I bought a Nexus 5 and stuck with Android. Now I have a OnePlus 3T. I think most people stick to iPhones because they're used to them. I like to fiddle with things, and I especially love customization, so yeah I agree, iPhone is too plain and boring for me.
  20. I like Nova, but I used Apex. I'm just glad there's room for customization. When I left iPhone, I never went back.
  21. Welcome, all! I wanted to create a general thread for all things tech related. Tech chat includes anything from smartphones, PC's, TV's and all general electronic devices. You can use this thread to share PC builds, showcase desktops/phone-launchers or battlestations, new purchases (for those who want to show off :p), and chat about all general news/events. Recently in the news, the advent of crypto-mining has completely destroyed supply for gaming GPU's. I'm just glad I picked up my GTX 1070 back when it first came out. http://archive.is/opz2V Also, I figured I'd get the ball rolling on showcasing my version OCD and anally-retentive Android launcher. How do I find anything on my phone? I'll never know.
  22. I felt like Redemption borrowed a lot of themes from famous Westerns, and arguably one of the best, Unforgiven. For those who haven't seen it, it's a redemption story based upon an old outlaw who left his former criminal life. Later, fate intervenes and calls him back to his old ways, wherein the ideas of law, justice and morality become indistinguishable from each other. This obviously manifests itself in RDR. RDR2 doesn't have to continue with this arc, but I also wouldn't mind it. I tend to think that this message is what makes Western stories great, the ambiguity of civilization. Tombstone is another great example of this. Hell, even the Good, the Bat and the Ugly attempts to archetype this notion within the title of the film, yet there's still a lot of obscurity about it within the characters; Blondie is not exactly "good".
  23. Yeah, this what I was specifically referring to. All of the recommended specs, troubleshooting and variability in PC gaming can seem intimidating to your average mainstream console gamer, aside from the price point.
  24. I've always heard of concerns going from console to PC, but not the other way around. Console is extremely easy to use, and a lot of PC games should be played with a controller anyway, ie. racing games. The transfer should be seamless. As for your second question, if Rockstar is smart, they'll find a way to either allow you to share progress across all platforms, or actually have cross-platform play. I think I remember hearing that Rockstar was pushing for the latter, but a lot of legal and non-competitive hurdles are in the way.

    Net Neutrality

It's millionaires vs. billionaires with the telecom companies on one end and the tech companies on the other. Choose your poison. Also, I'm betting everyone will forget about within a week and they'll move on to the next hysterical outrage campaign of the week.
