Just a history tidbit, but it's based on the true story. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Kemmler

What?! I didn't know there was no optical. I have the original PS4. Wonder why they did that. Anyway, try one of these: HDMI Audio Extractor - Tendak 4K HDMI to HDMI Audio Splitter and Optical Toslink SPDIF + 3.5mm Stereo HDMI ARC Adapter Converter Support 3D ARC for PS4/3/ Pro/ Roku/ Bul-Ray https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DFDQ6HG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_sTR7BbB54XJ3C It will strip the digital audio from HDMI for you.

I like the speaker setup. Is it basic stereo or digital? Here's what I have. Simple setup w/ Xbox and PS4, but I cherish my OLED like a baby. I replaced the side and center speakers with Klipsch.

What gaming console do you prefer to play: PS4 or XBOX 1
X S replied to cdmcalinden011's topic in Off-Topic
You don't need an upgrade the HDMI cable. Only HDMI 2.1 will need a new cable, and most TV's don't even support that yet. Secondly, the XB1X is a drastic improvement over the XB1S. With RDR2 alone, you're going from 864p to 2160p on the X; that's a sub-Full HD resolution to UHD. Now, the TV, sure, that can run your total upgrade cost pretty high, but the $100 difference in console price alone is more than worth it. -
Games for ADHD are available, OP. I recommend Call of Duty and Fortnite.

Basically what Rick said. I just button mashed the calm button. Crouch slowly while continuing to calm it. Then start patting it heavily when close enough. You won't even need to lasso it. Once it seems calm enough, mount it. It shouldn't even resist.

I think with the exception of one of the gunslingers, you have one opportunity to pick up their weapon. If you leave and come back, it will not be there and never come back. Sorry, partner. Do you have a save you can use? I make manual saves often because of unexpected things such as these.

I said nothing of the sort. Honestly, it wasn't that detailed. You never mentioned the hands verbatim, so much of it comes off as annecdote. No neee to personally insult me, but be mindful that I admitted to having dull moments of situational awarenesss.

You should record those if you think there's an issue. It's easy to be caught off guard by split pots, though, because digital poker deals a winner so quickly. I don't want to say you're imagining things, but I've often found myself in a state of disbelief because I was experiencing some kind of cognitive dissonance in what I thought I saw on the board, as opposed to what was actually there.

You're not enjoying the game because of the hunting? Look, there's a lot to be said about the patience needed to hunt in this game, but to claim the game is not enjoyable because of side quests is downright silly. As for hunting, this game requires much more patience than the first game. No, the bait isn't exactly useful, but there's some intent behind that. The bait shouldn't be "serving up" the perfect kill every time; that'd be boring. You need patience, and at times, a lot o f it. The hunting challenges were not meant for "speed runs", if you know what I mean.

Dirty and oily pomade hair with a beard and handlebar stache. Didn't keep the look, though. I cleaned up nicely when I made it to Saint Denis, bought a suit, shaved and trimmed hair.

Reminder: There was an achievement in the original RDR for hogtying a prostitute and putting her on the train rails to be hit. Regardless, let's stop regulating 'how' people choose to play a game, especially a Rockstar game where, pretty much, anything goes.

A YouTuber I follow, gtamen, discussed this. The areas towards the end of the game are where you want to go, because the spawn areas are larger.

My horse caused me to face-plant a tree... again!
X S replied to Ebonezra's topic in Red Dead Redemption 2
There's a mechanic in the game that allows the horse to auto dodge objects. It increases with the level of horse bonding. You can test it by riding slowly through the woods and the horse will avoid the trees. As you speed up, you need to anticipate what's coming, because if you start making a decision too late, you'll be fighting the horse. It works like R*s other collision mechanics where NPC's hesitate or speed up to collide with you as you increase speed. -
Anyone else having issues mailing the perfect carcasses of the animals for the Hunting Requests? I've captured 3 perfect rabbit carcasses. I've skinned them, I've left them unskinned, I've tried to mail them within less than 2 minutes of killing them, I've tired holding the rabbit, I've tried leaving it on the horse, but I just cannot mail the damn thing. The option to mail is all greyed out. I've googled for answers and there's similar people having these problems. Is anyone here experiencing this??

Had to revive this thread because the second train robbery in the game is straight from the Assassination of Jesse James. Arthur even puts his foot on the rails like Jesse to feel the vibration. Part 1 Part 2

PC version of RAGE engine games seem to be the only ones that don't require button mashing, for obvious reasons. There's something about it, though. The struggle to repeatedly tap to exert effort into running or galloping, I don't know. I just expect this shitty mechanic from Rockstar as a given now. lol

You'll get used to it. That's just how these things go. Rockstar practically invented the inventory wheel. We'll be saying the same about today's intuitive wheel soon. Protip: If you want to pull the map up quickly, long-hold the "Options" menu PS4, "Menu" button on Xbox.

I'm of the opinion that sex would most certainly be in this game if it wasn't for these two things you've mentioned, because in 1899, the brothel was a completely normal and legitimate business. It wasn't necessarily the taboo we have for it today. Reminder that some places of the old West still have legalized prostitution and brothels: Nevada. As for a possible love interest, you can learn a lot about the character backstories simply be moseying around camp. On Arthur's desk, there's a few pictures, one of them of some woman. No clue who she is, but Arthur alludes to never being married once or twice, as if there's some kind of backstory. Who knows, maybe Sadie becomes an interest? I don't know, I'm not far enough into the game yet.

PS4 Pro was confirmed to be using some kind of checkerboard rendering. Xbox One X is native 4K. I have not experienced any blurring issues (XB1X). Playing on an LG B7 OLED.

Making my way through Pale Rider at the moment. I kinda like how they don't shy away from social norms back then, particularly a 15 year old girl wanting to have sex with someone who was probably 50-something. I kinda laughed at that part.

I feel like GTA Online gutted the soul of GTA and merely used it as a playground for it's fantastical and over-the-top ridiculousness of drip-fed DLC content. If Rockstar is looking to steer clear of this model going forward while maintaining the same level of engagement and monetary value that GTA Online did, I think a mixed model would be best. So without going into too much detail, I'd like to see something that promotes the game both from a story-driven perspective, as well as an online perspective. For example, There may be elements of the game that might cross-over, earning items that can only be earned on one end and only used on the other. Perhaps, they could even incorporate an entire October to turn the landscape into a zombie apocalypse, along with a story mode to accompany it. Both game modes should be given the same attention to detail. And yes, they can charge me for Single Player DLC. I never gave them a dime for GTA Shark Cards.

How many units do you think R* will sell?
X S replied to BelleStarr's topic in Red Dead Redemption 2
Admittedly, RDR is not as well renown as the GTA series, but from a gaming an entertainment perspective, everyone knows RDR and the reputation it developed with the first game. I'm estimating it will sell well above corporate estimates, which I assume they're downplaying for obvious reasons. -
I actually wouldn't mind a bit of a "Donner Party" element to that. They touched upon that a little in the first game with a random cannibal living out in the desert during a few Stranger missions.
