lol I am TOTALLY doing that, just in case!

That's not the worst part...my wife recently, about 6 weeks ago, started playing RDR and got addicted. She had never been a gamer at all. So, thanks to me and my bright idea to get her involved, she doesn't want me to play it while she's working tomorrow, she wants me to wait for her. It is a serious catch 22 for me. I guess I could just wait until Sunday when I wake up. Saturday night I will be exhausted from moving. I think....I think I will cheat and play for a couple hours tomorrow. She jokingly said last night that she was bringing the disc with her to work so I can't play lol I'll just put the old RDR disc in the case and she probably won't notice! hahaha I'm such a snake!

Although I have been planning for months to stay up all night, as luck would have it, my apartment is infested with mold and the only day my wife and I are able to move into the new apartment is......ta daaaaaa, RED DEAD DAY! So, I will pick up the game tonight and install it, probably play for a few hours tomorrow, then finish packing, move tomorrow, and play all day Sunday. I am completely devastated that moving day landed this weekend. Like, I mean REALLY DEVASTATED.

So, what is everyone doing with their RDR disc now?
Jackthestripper replied to Jackthestripper's topic in Off-Topic
Good point...it's not like it really takes up a lot of space. Besides, I saw it used for $5.95 the other day, so in other words....what would I do with the $1.25 cash or $1.50 store trade in value? lol -
I don't see me ever playing it again. I am not a hoarder and will probably just trade it in for something next time I go to my local used video game store. I mean I suppose it's possible I'd put it in just for old time's sake, but I seriously doubt it. Not worth holding onto in my opinion. I imagine a lot of used video game stores will see copies of RDR coming in soon. Maybe I'll donate mine to the Goodwill store. Who knows, some kid might get some enjoyment out of it.

Red Dead Redemption 2 - Are Critics Liking It?
Jackthestripper replied to DylBandit's topic in Red Dead Redemption 2
I have super high hopes for the game, but until I play it, I have nothing to compare the other critic's ratings to. I will be able to soon enough though. I find usually the critics are well, very critical...so I figure if they are giving it those kind of ratings, I have even higher hopes and I am 99% sure I won't be disappointed. The most disappointing thing for me is that I have to move tomorrow and Saturday and after all this waiting and planning for the day of the release....I can't play it until Saturday night. It was devastating news! -
@YodaMan 3D I don't know what is going on either, but I am glad you posted this so I don't have to see any of those videos. I was in a Gamestop today and a worker answered the phone, and the caller asked if he could return a 'sealed' copy of RDR2. She said "No, you obviously didn't buy it here, so no you can't...where did you get it?" He said "I got it from the ROCKSTAR warehouse." Hmmmm....very weird imo. I don't know if it was some kind of scam or what, but it sure was odd.

I did not see that interview, however I would like to. I know I had one version with the commentary but the copy I have right now does not have it. I did however find the audio from it on Youtube. Here is the link to the audio of that version with the commentary. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IRFnROOgCRI You'll have to sync it up with the movie obviously, which after I listened to the first 5 mins a few mins ago, you basically just hit play at the same time.

The music is definitely a major part of the film. I mean it's really creepy music. I just meant watching it without the music makes it kind of like a different kind of spooky. Now....if we could get a descent Halloween video game, I'd really be thrilled!
-
Wow, that is super cool man! The one thing I have always loved about Halloween is the score. And oddly enough, if you ever get the chance to watch the original without any music, do it!!! It is actually really spooky to watch with no music whatsoever. I can't remember how I watched it without the music, I think it was on a dvd I once owned somewhere in the bonus features. You could also watch it with John Carpenter and Debra Hill doing commentary throughout the entire movie which was also awesome.

I am an avid horror movie fan, especially of the Halloween series. I am going to see the new one next Friday. I have heard great things about the new one, and what excites me the most is that Carpenter helped direct it, and Nick Castle who originally played The Shape, is coming back for some scenes as The Shape. Also, this takes place as a sequel to the original in 1978. The other movies don't exist in this movie, it's like it never happened. The original is my favorite, followed by 2 and then 4. The rest are dead to me as The Shape just gets bigger and faster, and that's not what John Carpenter set out to create when he made the first 2 movies. I find them boring and the whole 'Cult of Thorn' thing starting in part 5 was about the stupidest thing I have ever seen. I think Rob Zombie butchered Halloween. The first one would have been all right if it had have been a movie on it's own, and not called Halloween. The whole mystery behind Michael Myers was that he hadn't spoken since he was 6. Either way, I am excited to see The Shape again, and looking forward to him walking and stalking like the original. Hope everyone enjoys it!

I still play every day and there's always lots of people on. There's more on in the evening/night time of course, but even during the day there's plenty of people playing. I had tried the RDRO with the PSNow several months ago, but it was glitchy as hell. I find there's more people playing friendly mode and normal mode than HC, but still quite a few people playing whenever I'm on.

I don't usually buy a game unless I know for sure that it will be something I will enjoy thoroughly. I played GTAV and finished the story line twice, and although I don't play multiplayer anymore for several reasons, I have to admit I had a lot of fun playing it. It's just collecting dust now but I feel I got my money's worth. But to answer the main point of the question, I would say about 48 hours of gaming time would make me feel like my $70 (give or take) was worth it. My wife bought me Battlefront for Christmas a few years ago cause I kept saying how awesome it looked. Turned out that I did not enjoy it very much except for the pilot missions online, and I flat out sucked at it anyways lol I felt and still feel super guilty that I did not invest as much time as I should have for the money she spent. I think that fact that there was no story line, just online and tutorials made us feel kind of ripped off. Should have done my research further than watching commercials for it. However for games like the upcoming one, I already know my $100 for Ultimate Edition will be worth it. I

Personally, not only have I never used a hack and/or cheat, but wouldn't know how, and don't WANT to know how. I think it appeals mainly to people who just aren't good enough to compete on a fair and level playing field. Besides, it's really not much of a feather in the hat to get ahead of the other players through a hack or a cheat. A couple of weeks ago someone on RDRO had a car, (which I have NEVER seen in all the time I've played), and an explosive rifle with unlimited ammo outside of Warthington Ranch. He was offing people left, right and center. At one time I would have been upset years ago, but now I'm over it, and really just felt embarrassed for him. Anyone with descent gaming skills doesn't need that to be competitive.

I've perfected my pizza making over the last year or so. I worked at a pizzeria for over 2 years and learned a lot about it. I found the recipe online, and tweaked it here and there and in my opinion, my pizza is just as good as any delivery pizza. I brought one to a potluck at work about a year ago, and everybody was asking where it came from. I'm really not much of a cook so it was pretty flattering for someone like me LOL For approximately $10, I can make two large homemade pizzas. I like that with a homemade pizza you can put whatever you want on it, and as much sauce or cheese or toppings as you want. You can make thin or thick crust, and you can flavor the crust with garlic butter or whatever you like. I might try stuffed crust sometime but it's not really my thing to be honest. I usually drop some wings which I have a recipe for the batter as well.

Same here... I definitely need at least one long gun with a scope. High power pistol always came in handy for me, and I loved the bolt action rifle. Anxious in trying the bow too.

I am not actually sure to be honest. This is the first time I have pre-ordered a game so it's new to me. I would suggest calling your local Gamestop like you said. As far as them releasing the game before midnight, I asked her that and she said by the time it's downloaded and ready to play it will be after midnight anyways. I only had to put a minimum of $5 down to reserve my copy and will just pay the remainder at the time of pickup. I'm pretty sure that is the same for all Gamestops.

How do you think ammo will be supplied in multiplayer?
Jackthestripper replied to Jackthestripper's topic in Red Dead Online
You're right actually, I forgot about that... You can buy ammo with your cell phone in GTAO. Either way, I personally would rather have to go in and buy it in a store for RDR2O. Definitely no cell phones back then LOL the one good thing about the ammo box drops in RDRO is that you don't have to use any of your money to buy it. -
How do you feel about the ammo supply system in RDRO? Would you rather have ammo boxes appearing again, or would you rather it be like GTAO, where you have to actually go into a gun store and buy ammo? I personally got frustrated a lot looking for ammo boxes, and felt like a sitting duck in hardcore when I first joined the room and was filling up my ammo in the middle of a field. Then again, if I had a nickel for every time in GTAO someone shot me as soon as I came out of the ammunition store I'd be rich. Thoughts?

I called my local GameStop this afternoon, and they told me that all three editions are available on hard copy. Oddly enough I was surprised to hear her say that there would be no reopening at midnight to get the game... She said from 8:45 to 9 p.m. when they close on Thursday the 25th, I can pick up my pre-ordered copy.

In addition to playing RDRO on the PS3, I have been playing a ton of NES lately, and Tiger Woods golf on the PS2 with my wife. My PS4 doesn't see very much action unless I rent a movie from Redbox or when I watch Hulu and Netflix. Come RDR2 time though, it will be getting quite a workout. Started playing Ratchet and Clank for the PS4 but stopped because they changed the controls and I haven't had the patience to sit down and learn the new ones yet. I'd say I am playing RDRO more than anything though lately. Plus my wife is finally started to learn how to play RDR lately, which is frustrating, but still fun to sit and watch. She loves it, she just can NOT AIM for the life of her! I consider this a side project now lmao

I love the odd bit of humor within a game. LIke in RDR, there is one NPC (I've only seen him twice in all the years I have been playing), who is standing there just taking a piss, all drunk lol I have seen him once between Armadillo and MacFarlane's Ranch, and once in Cholla Springs I believe. Anyhow, it was funny as hell the first time I saw it, I laughed hysterically. I hope there is at least a few things that make me laugh. I used to love shooting deer while they were flying through the air, as several times they did a complete somersault in mid-air and it was just funny to me. I have a feeling that any humor in the new game will be smart ass comments from NPC's and what not.

NEW INFO: Red Dead Redemption frontiers and towns
Jackthestripper replied to Benjo's topic in Red Dead Redemption 2
Thank you for this! This is awesome information. I am anxious to see Valentine. The description makes me wonder if this will be like Thieve's Landing, in the sense of no law enforcement? Maybe not in this town, but from the description I am hoping that this town or at least some area in the game will be a dedicated area with no law enforcement. Gamblers, outlaws, and prostitutes? lmao I'm in!
