I'd like to consider myself somewhat of a cougar expert considering how much I hunt them up on the Roanoke area. Sometimes you get plenty of warning by hearing them off in the distance or catching a glimpse of them in eagle eye before they show up on your mini map. Other times they'll spawn right on top of you with little to no warning. That's when you shoot from the hip and pray. At least with cougars, if one does get the jump on you and pounces, if your health level is high enough, you can fight it off, shoot it and live to tell the tale. Grizzlies on the other hand, if one gets a hold of you, forget about it, you're dead! That is why I'm so pissed off that the value of a perfect grizzly pelt is so low. It's barely higher than a perfect deer pelt. It's just not worth it to hunt them.

I'm on PS4. GT is the same as my username here, Vaderspupil. I believe you're Xbox aren't you?

When my other posse members aren't on I prefer to lone wolf it. I'll initiate party chat so I don't have to listen to the crap spewing out if the mouths of the other players and just go on my merry way hunting and fishing. Griefers don't intimidate me. Even if I'm outnumbered, I'll fight back and I'll hold my own. I hate it when I receive posse invites from randoms I don't know.

help! (mainly registered to ask this question).

Yeah, we PS4 players were given a red chestnut Arabian for free. It has slightly worse stats than the other arabians. Still, it's a very good horse despite the fact that it's a coward and gets spooked very easily. -
I'm not colorblind and even I have a hard time telling the difference between certain team colors in pvp. The lonesome cowboys and the boot hill gang are a slightly different shade of blue. The pinky gang and the dandies are a similar shade of pink/purple. The coyote pack and the hellhounds are a similar orange/orangish brown. It's extremely annoying. I either futilely try to shoot my own teammate or I hesitate because he looks like a teammate and I get shot because he's not.

I wouldn't consider it so. They started it. If someone attacks me, I will kill them until I either get sick of wasting my bullets on them or they cry uncle by leaving or calling for a parlay.

The Varmint Rilfe is not the BEST weapon for PVP
Vaderspupil replied to HuDawg's topic in Red Dead Online
Like I said, I use the Springfield and I'm level 53. It "*****" faster than the bolt action and is more powerful. I couple it with damage buff ability cards like winning streak and peak condition. Edit: the censored word is c o c k s. -

I can see the appeal of the VR. The rapid fire rate allows you to get multiple shots off quickly but you'd better make sure you hit the head or else you're screwed. Personally I like my trusty Springfield. -

I don't need to be the best. I'm perfectly happy as long as I finish on the plus side with my kills/deaths ratio and I'm absolutely thrilled finishing in the top 10. My best game ever was a name your weapons team match in which I had 20 kills, 9 deaths all with using the double barrel shotgun. Still didn't get MVP though probably didn't get a high enough point total with only using the shotgun. I have gotten MVP only once and I don't know how. It was hostile territory and I had something like 2 kills, 4 deaths. I had spent the majority of the match hunkered down inside of a territory to protect it from capture. My best game overall is Most Wanted. I usually have a respectable finish there. -
It's based on the posse leader. The only way to be selective is to set your posse to invite only.

Is it just me or are griefer's skills diminishing? For the last few nights, I've had people come after me. While they may have caught me off guard and got the initial kill, vengeance is ultimately mine as I return the favor tenfold killing them multiple times with ease. Last night, I was playing solo and easily fended off an attack from a posse of 3 who thought they could easily take advantage of this lone wolf. They thought wrong dude! I normally will give other players a wide berth, but you mess with the bull, you get the horns!

You are correct. Posse leader must be online and have the posse active in order to join.

There have been many times when I've wanted to shoot my horse for not following orders.

For the longest time I would only play that game in private lobbies. I still play it from time to time with some of my old F13 friends, even in public lobbies, but it's just not the same. -
How do you get to the final missions?
Vaderspupil replied to DLKnives's question in Questions & Answers
I got from max honor to max dishonor easily by doing this. Slaughtering lots of civilians, especially women is key as is doing it in brutal fashion like pulling out your knife, tackling them and executing them with a throat slit. Killing lawmen isn't as effective. They're more for gaining XP. -

It takes skill(against other auto aim users) in the sense that you have to be quicker than them at flicking the analog stick to go for a headshot, but yes I agree that the OP is an idiot. It takes way more skill and pinpoint control to free aim your shots. I sometimes have trouble hunting with scoped rifles because it forces you to free aim while looking through the scope. If the animal is moving at all, I'm much more likely to miss. -
A calvary sword would be pretty sweet. Imagine charging you enemies down on horseback slashing away with your sword.

Wouldn't bother me any if they took away the extra XP bonuses for headshots, distance etc. for auto aim users. -

The whole point is to have fun. You guys do so by immersing yourself in the game making it more realistic with free aim. Others might not have so much fun if they couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with a BB gun using free aim. That being said, I'm certainly no fan of those like the OP who think they are the GOAT especially when taking advantage of the game assisted tools. -

This whole free aim vs auto aim debate is silly IMHO. There's a reason you can choose one or the other. Free aim is for those who want to challenge themselves and their gaming skills. Auto aim is for those who have less confidence in their gaming skills and want an overall more casual experience. Either choice is perfectly fine. You can't force others to play your style. BTW, I fall into the latter category. -
They slow the degradation of weapons so you don't have to clean them as often.

Being wanted doesn't bother me. I'll shoot it out with the lawmen. Good XP!😁 -
Yeah, I myself am a persistent posse leader as well as a member to a few other posses.

Then they blame you for getting in the way. When that happens, I just shoot them in the face!
