  1. To further expand on my previous statement, when it comes to black powder rounds like the .45 colt or .44 Russian (the types of ammo found in the games) there literally is only one loading... as much black powder as the case will hold with a bullet seated on top of it... If you wanted to load it down you needed some kind of filler to take up space, but that basically just gives you a slower weaker round than a full charge of powder. Leaving empty space in a black powder load... well... you won’t have that gun for very long at the least...
  2. @Bucnation3139 I bet he took all your guns with him... must have been tough fighting off two Grizzlies with your bare hands...
  3. I’m not 100% sure, but For some reason I think you have to buy the medium wagon before you buy the large wagon... I don’t think you can skip it over
  4. Parliament, mostly... lol
  5. I do mine in blued steel with silver inlay... but no pictures handy
  6. I shot full courses with two revolvers, a lever gun (in .45 colt for simplicity sake) and a 12 gauge side by side. I’m just in it for the fun. You probably won’t see me in any of the big money events lol. i sometimes use my cap and balls when I’m feeling in the mood. I often reload my .45s with black powder as well.
  7. Your options as far as bullets would likely have been various Calibers of round nose or flat nose lead slugs. Maybe some early copper jacketed bullets in the bigger rifles... there may have been some different loadings (express, high velocity) with the early days of smokeless powder. Honestly, walk into a gun store and check out the various modern ammunition types a available (you’ll likely see they are just slightly different variations of the same handful of basic bullet designs with the factory advertising trying to convince you that their hollow points are better than the other guys). Now, take 120 years of research, development and improvements out of the picture and you’ll have a good idea what you would have found in the gunsmith store of the RDR days. there really wasn’t much at the time beyond various calibers of slightly different shaped lead hunks... and different sized shot for your shotguns...
  8. Sounds like my preferred pair for cowboy action range days. I got two with 7 1/2 inch barrels. In .45 colt (I prefer the authenticity to the reduced recoil).
  9. Yes, most people would use their 6 shooter as a 5 shooter. The logic being the firing pin (mounted directly on the hammer) shouldn’t be resting on the primer of a round while you are move it about, working, riding etc. as for this being a good gun... well, there is a reason they all went the wayside in favour of cartridge guns... but who knows how it’ll turn out in rockstar’s video game version? They aren’t exactly on a good track record of reproducing these firearms in a historically accurate way...
  10. I have a feeling there will be some predetermined locations (how many and where I cannot say). I also think there is a good chance it’ll work similar to the GTA apartments, businesses and the likes (you go into your own little pocket world within the server). I guess it could also be done where you only log onto a session when it on are the first person with that location set up, but there would have to be a lot of potential locations if they don’t want mostly empty servers. I really don’t see how it can be set up, taken down, moved or anything else a camp does... Its supposed to be a house. Likely once you have it, it’ll be in the spot you chose every time you log in. I do see how it could be tied to existing camp locations somehow (maybe that’s why camps have been so glitchy lately?) and perhaps having your camp and cripps able to set up in the yard. Of course, I’m just guessing here. But it’s just too big of a stretch to me to be able to set up and tear down a building, dig a basement, then pack it all into a wagon. Now if they advertised something like a Still wagon for your camp it would be a little different. But they also mention setting up your own illegal bar, so this is likely to be the beginnings of owning property for RDR.
  11. Possible... There is definitely a few spots around that could become a homestead type place.
  12. I doubt it... they describe it as: Purchase a Moonshining Shack and you will be on your way. To passers-by, the Shack is an unassuming dwelling, the main floor acting as a front with all the details of an ordinary homestead. The basement, however, is where you'll ultimately get down to business. I Just don’t see how you can have an unassuming dwelling with a basement as part of your camp.
  13. Unless you really want the money for something else, I’d buy it. No sense in waiting as it’ll pay for itself in few runs.
  14. Yeah, there is definitely info and a rough cut of Mexico in the game... But North Yankton (or whatever it’s called) has been in GTA this whole time. So the chances of that actually meaning something is pretty slim.
  15. Quite honestly, I never could get into the old Online. The current version is much more immersive to me. And yes, I do agree it would be a little better without ability cards and explosive ammo (or at least make explosive ammo so difficult to make you can ever really only get a small handful at a time). But I won’t go as far as to say it’s unbalanced... Just a little too over the top. Personally I’d he happy with a pocket full of plain old lead bullets and the ability to kill or be killed by a well placed shot by anyone... But I’ll take it as it is when it means I can make my customized character and carve out my own little immersive fake outlaw life in the old west.
  16. By balanced I meant everyone has access to the same stuff fairly easily. Not that a battle is easy to win. Sure, sh*t can go south from time to time. But the world is big, we all have the same cards, the same tonics, the same pig fat etc., we can’t just see everyone in the world at all times. And nothing is stuck behind a prohibitively expensive price tag... sure, some of the things are a little goofy and unrealistic, but as of yet it’s not even close to being as ridiculous as GTA’s offerings. But it doesn’t really matter as we’ve been told over and over again all about how your bent on hating the game until you get your private lobbies, and others are bent on hating the game until they can be 100% immune to ever having to get into a gunfight with another player... So there is simply no winning with whatever Rockstar adds or takes away in the current vision/direction of the game...
  17. Well, first off, I’ve never used explosive ammo (other than maybe the odd stick of dynamite) and I have never had problems in free roam PVP encounters... So I’m not sure it’s really a problem... as for your GTA comparison, sure, businesses are similar (I don’t really see how else they can both be run and provide opportunities for little PVP outlaw fun), but as of now, the PVP is more balanced by miles than what can be found in GTA... a fairly low level player can actually be competitive against a several hundred level player... That may change one day, it as of now it’s the case....
  18. Well, they have Mexico locked up tighter than Trump’s wall Could ever hope to accomplish and I don’t trust those guys from Guarma...
  19. Really? A whole day and no love for probably the most iconic Christmas film ever made in North America? Or am I just too old? Lol
  20. I do 99.9% of my hunting with either the .22 or the Bolt action.... I only tend to use other guns if I get caught by surprise by a back of wolves or something
  21. I don’t see how you can have a shack with a basement that you can move... I see them working more like properties in GTA... My first batch has your name on it. Bring the Angels down and have a party.
  22. If it does ever expand, I predict Mexico rather than Canada... but I wouldn’t hold my breath.
  23. I just want to introduce The Liquor to as many people as possible.... it yeah, I’m definitely excited. I’m pretty sure old Cripps is going to get pretty lonely when I start spending all my time in my hooch shack...
  24. Buy a shack.... work your way up to a speakeasy... Sounds like the start of property ownership to me...
  25. Just my guess, but it fits the theme...
