@Slayer Fan First off, create an addition save (as a precaution) Try leaving the area for a bit. Try "resting". Try dying. That's all I have...

"Did you turn it off then on again?" Try creating an extra manual save (just a precaution), exit the game COMPLETELY, and reload the game. This fixes a lot of bugs in many games. Just a place to start.

Well I'm glad I'm not the only one that made that mistake... (I actually did encounter a fish that floated above the water for a minute though)

How much do you actually miss out on? I haven't looked into it at all and I'm only on chapter 2, so I have no clue how much they're involved in the story.

Most people are looking for help, or at least another person having the same issue. Same here. I have the "I'll figure it out" mentality and would much rather just start playing the game than sit through a tutorial.

Keep in mind that not everyone is encountering these bugs... It would take more than "one play through"... I'm assuming you've checked your horse? Not trying to say it's perfect, but it's also a MASSIVE game with tons of different interactions/options. Bugs are to be expected. When is the last time you played a game at release that was 100% perfect? I know I never have.

I meant the cart. I stopped bothering with horses once I realized you only get like $5. Not worth the time. I haven't even bothered with the war horse. Just kept the one you start with. I almost lost him last night though...

All that has done for me is kill the horses and prevent me from selling it... Glad I stopped bothering with those. I'm having WAY more fun hunting.

That said, I still expect a Red Dead version of shark cards. They'll probably just limit the buy-in so it's not a real way to make money (like in story mode).

I found them last night! Tossed a stick of dynamite into their meeting and watched them scatter. Only had to use 1 bullet after that!

I logged out of it on my work computer and when I try to log back in it sends me to my school email login instead of just allowing me to login... Haven't bothered trying to figure out what's going on there, but clearly something is up...

Nice one! I found out that if you fish in a canoe, you'll eventually be shot into the air (with the canoe) causing it to be unusable. I also had my horse's head spontaneously combust yesterday. Wish I had an easy way to post the videos (can't get onto youtube anymore).

No clue. The joke was that the dude had t start all over because his wife saved over his game. He was bitching about playing through the snow all over again and someone else said "dude, you can skip it by going hunting with Dutch" (or something along those lines). It might be BS, but I figured it's worth a shot.

Same, only 33% of the story lol I spent the last 3 days just hunting and fishing. Trying to upgrade my satchel before I move on. I heard with the legendary one you can hold 99 of each item instead of only 5. And I was all excited that I just got the guide... I won't be completing this story anytime soon now lol Thanks for sharing!

I stopped next to a Fence (the shop) on my horse and was looking at something on my phone, all of a sudden my horse starts freaking out. I look up, and his ****ing head was on fire! I was nowhere near any fires, nor did I see this light (I was actually right next to the shop). No clue what happened, but I had to revive my horse for the first time because of this... Is spontaneous combustion supposed to be a random occurrence in this game?

In case you didn't see it - The new episode of South Park had a lot of RDR2 references (and a couple minor spoilers). The tip - You can skip the beginning by going hunting with Dutch! Anyone know if this is actually true? I just watched it this morning, so I didn't have time to try it out. I didn't even think to create a second save file after the beginning... Would've been a GREAT idea...
