  1. I find that my effectiveness increases with alcohol consumption and judicious use of a shotgun paired with tactical advances aided by suppressing fire.
  2. I have a lot of puzzle and word-based games on my phone. Just little stuff that I can pick up and put down easily enough for a brief distraction when I'm in a boring meeting at work or the times I use public transportation.
  3. I had a variation of this where I joined a posse I'm a member of, and one of the players in the posse was labeled as an enemy, eventhough I'd never played with or against him in the past. It was odd. I suppose there may be an issue with the grouping system.
  4. That's something they need to address. I was in a group the other day that did this, where we wouldn't finish a mission and go hunting, shooting, etc.... based on the mission we were playing, and then load up on pelts/feathers for half an hour before finishing the mission for both $$ and XP. If anything, the missions should reward speed and efficiency, and there should be diminishing returns for certain tiers of speed. Why they have it set up the way they do is beyond me.
  5. In that case, I'll take Buell. At least Buell has a job. In that analogy, Arabian / Fox Trotter spends 6-8 hours a day at the gym and only consumes protein shakes and celery. Then he works a 4-hour shift at Ambercrombie before going to bed at 10pm so he can be up at 5 the next day to be the first one in the gym before all the machines get dirty.
  6. I will be happy to sign a release for the use of my likeness.
  7. Indeed. I'm not above punching any horse other than "mAh Noah" Phantom. Random horse in St. Denis? I'll punch him right in his smug face for dropping a load on my boots
  8. Only if I can get a poop-up notification for when my horse needs to void his bowels. Kinda sick of watching that happen on a regular basis.
  9. First of all, OUTSTANDING profile pic. But sadly, I don't think that boost will count towards those activities unless you hit buckle/rewards milestones.
  10. That's very true. Cowards like me kill you once and then run away.
  11. Except for me. I'm a terrible person.
  12. Probably. I've never been one to posse up before, but now....
  13. That sucks. Last night was the first session I've had in weeks that wasn't littered with disconnects. I'm not ready to deem it "fixed"--the sample size is too small, and other users are still having issues. I also find it laughable that they want feedback when a lot of players can't even stay connected long enough to form a fair opinion.
  14. Oh, I disagree. You aren't likely to see many folks in the northern parts of the map, stretching from north of Strawberry to West of Annesburg. That entire wilderness is open 99% of the time, at least in sessions I've been in.
  15. I think they're aware of it and "tinkering", which is why the online landing page seems to be bugged (or at least it was earlier).
  16. It's not just you. I had a bit of a transformative experience playing online last night, and while it doesn't necessitate its own thread, it's with brining up, especially in this context. I jumped on around 2300 and received my mandatory <30 sec disconnect. After that, NO issues whatsoever. I entered mission matchmaking in free roam and was paired up with a pre-formed duo with mics. Great laid back group that communicated well, so I literally just went along for the ride and had a blast with them for a couple missions. We posse'd up and tooled around free roam for a bit, and I noticed a lot of lone riders and duos checking the three of us out, but nobody attacked. They fought each other, but stayed away from us. "What's the point," you ask? The game is built for grouping up. The content in free roam and missions is more fun, there's safety in numbers, and a group of players that fit your play style (I'm laid back in RDO) make the game exponentially more satisfying. I can't recommend grouping up enough. Ive been in plenty of garbage groups, bit it only takes one to completely shift your opinion of the beta. My thinking about a lot of things for the beta has shifted after that experience.
  17. Got on last night around 2300 EST, and noticed that the online landing page was different, but I couldn't put my finger on it. They DID add a "Posse Up" option to the first row as there's currently a 2X XP modifier for Posses in Free Roam. The Showdown series individual options were gone, as were some of the Free Roam location spawn options (there were only three available, along with Free Roam, Posse Up, and the Store). Gun Rush & Gun Rush Teams were available at the time, as was the Showdown Series mixed playlist option. Curiously enough, I didn't experience the disconnect issues last night after the initial startup one that I have every session.
  18. Because you can't trust players to have decent trigger discipline. Think about all the opportunities to grief if players can be in the posse hunting down wanted players; You get a bounty, so you hide in Valentine or Saint Denis, and now, other players are inadvertantly shooting innocents and running amok trying to apprehend you. At what point are their actions no longer justified? Or, R* is being lazy, and couldn't figure out how to have NPC's not react to you shooting/killing/apprehending someone with a "wanted level" in the online component without getting a Wanted level yourself, so they just left it out altogether. I'm guessing it's more the latter than the former.
  19. I simply assumed you just played guitar, but in a metal band?
  20. I have UPnP enabled, which auto-forwards ports. I've hardlined directly to the modem. I've manually forwarded the ports as suggested on R*'s site. The only thing I haven't done is give my PS4 a static IP address in the router, although I fail to see how that would help if the direct line into the modem itself didn't work. I'm cleared my PS4 cache as well. The game NEVER loads when I first get into the online mode--it ALWAYS fails and usually requires 2-3 attempts at first. As I've said before, this is the only game I have this issue with. He'll, I only had 1 Delta error in 10+ hrs. of playing the Division 2 beta this past weekend, so I don't believe that it's anything other than an issue on R*'s end.
  21. It'd probably help if I could stay logged in for more than 20 minutes at a time.
  22. I'm never going to get there at the rate I'm going. I might be level 15, and I lost a whole weekend to The Division 2 beta this past weekend. Still had a better connection to their beta servers than I do R*'s which just reinforces my assertion that the disconnect issue is on their end, and how they interface with some ISPs. That reminds me of the GIllete commercial where the woman is walking down the sidewalk and the delta bravo eyeballs her and starts to follow her. The penalty is the loss of my time.
  23. I have a better odds of being added as an NPC in the bar in Valentine.
  24. Those are just, the WORST. I'm actually somewhat shocked that there haven't been any leaks. As in "Gun Media 'soon'"?
  25. Do not miss that at all. Nor do I miss the openly racist parents yelling in the background, "coaching" their kids.
