  1. Interesting. I’ll be looking forward to it. However, I can’t help but hear the coming cries of single-player DLC content from some fans. That much rumored remake/remaster of the original RDR campaign sounds really cool.
  2. What are your favorite card games? I’m a big fan of poker (Texas Hold ‘Em) and Uno. But my absolute favorite has to be Monopoly Deal. There’s a lot of subterfuge involved in Monopoly Deal that’s just so addicting. Too bad many folks are me don’t know about it. There’s a version on PS4 that no one plays as well, sadly.
  3. I’m not buying Black Ops for the same reason Kean isn’t. It’s returning to that old CoD formula that bored me so much that I stopped buying CoD games after the original BLOPS. I may still rent it for the campaign, but that’s it.

What’s your take on the design? Personally, I like digital edition better but only when it’s vertical. With my entertainment center setup it would have to be horizontal. Not only that, but I’m a physical media type of guy so I would automatically opt for the disc version. That one looks terrible, to me. Doubly so when it’s horizontal.

I’m going to wait at least a year before I switch over to next-gen. I’ve bought in at launch and got consoles that were broken within a year too many times. The 360 and the Red Ring of Death was the worst. A year should be a good stretch to get most of the lemons out of circulation. I’m no brand loyalist, but I’m disappointed I’m doubting my initial inclination to get a PS5. The exclusives are so damn good on their platform. Unfortunately, with them allowing customers to record private conversations and report them for “offensive” language, that’s a step too far for me. If you don’t like the way a conversation is going, you’ve got three choices: Leave, Mute, and/or Block. With the ever changing landscape of things that can be deemed offensive, I feel this system is ripe for abuse. I don’t want to invest $500 on a console, $60 on a yearly subscription to PSplus, and however many games I want only to have some butthurt individual report me for naughty words and my console gets bricked. Not cool
  6. If so, wanna group up? I’m a casual player that likes to take in the whole game instead of just sprinting to the next objective. I’m at level 30 but more than willing to group with lower players and help them rank up. Gamertag is: xI_ENOCH_Ix Clan is: Salem Poor Grp
  7. I just recently let my daily streak lapse. Haven’t really been in the mood lately. Been playing more CTF on Modern Warfare.
  8. Need another squad mate? I’m always looking for an excuse to play that game.
  9. Have we heard about anyone having problems trying to invite a whole seven person posse into a session? That would be an issue if that was the case.
  10. I enjoy PVP too. But there’s a clear line in the sand about when conflict is appropriate and when it isn’t. There’s also part of me that thinks explosive rounds should be removed and free aim against players should be the standard in free roam.
  11. People like you are the reason I stay in defensive even at rank 219. If you want to harass other players, go to PVP. But I don’t think RDO is your speed. Maybe you can find enjoyment in one of the innumerable twitch shooters out there. Mindlessly killing other players seems to be your calling. Me? I’ll keep being boring and enjoying my time in the Old West... wagon deliveries and all! 😎
  12. @Kean_1, don’t you get it? RDO isn’t about the Wild West. It’s about pissing off as many people as you can! The only reason to play is because there’s a massive world that exists solely to harass other people who are actually enjoying the side activities. Owning noobs is the only worthwhile objective. And you thought that’s what PVP was for. Psh.
  13. To me, other random players don’t make the game feel more alive. It’s the NPCs and random events. Most players I come across are either killing every NPC in town or are killing each other. I ran across a trio of players the other day and I tried to set up a boxing match in the mud in the Valentine pig pins. These players were instead content with throwing dynamite at each other outside the post office 😕
  14. Try it out. I was on my way to Nazar just north of Saint Denis yesterday and I had two moonshine events and a poachers event spawn before I ever got to her lol
  15. Hopefully our recent seven month lull in content has allowed them to catch up and we’ll start seeing more regular drops of content. If the leaks turn out to be true, that looks like it’s the case.
  16. If I was a betting man, I’d say most of R* development time was spent on the single player and most of RDO was put on the back burner until after release. There’s a part of me that wishes they had waited another year so RDO could have released on more solid ground. The only consolation I take from it is that I’ve only ever dropped $5 of real world money on the game and I’ve experienced everything the game has to offer.
  17. I’m on PS4 and I’ve noticed it as well. I kept finding random events being spawned and I was like, “Whoa! This is awesome!” I checked the player count on my session and there were only three other people. This started last week for me. Since then I haven’t had more than 5 players in a session. And I love it lol
  18. I get where you’re coming from, I do. I too find MW fun. But the stress I get from playing MW is nowhere to be found in RDO. To me, RDO is a much more relaxing experience (minus the bugs lol).
  19. RDO is far more generous in its reward/battle pass system. Like I said, I’ve only ever spent $5 on RDO and the rest of the gold I earned through dailies/maps/etc. COD is more of a grind because the BP takes way more time to get from reward to reward. In fact, near the end of the battle pass, it gets throttled and you have to spend even more time playing to get it maxed out (this, of course, is done so you’ll spend more money to automatically max it out). I can casually play RDO and max out the Outlaw Pass in two weeks. And I don’t find RDO to be grindy in my case. This is almost digital tourism for me. Unless I’m in danger, I walk everywhere (when not on my horse), I hitch my horse in towns, I tip my hat to other players, I don’t walk around with all of my guns strapped to my back. To me, it’s just a fun world to be in. I feel no pressure in doing a task I don’t want to do over and over like COD or Destiny. I feel free. And no matter what I do, there are always two rewards: those that the game gives me, and those that I find in just living in that world for a little while.
  20. Minus plopping down real world cash, one of the easiest ways to get gold is to do your dailies. I haven’t spent any money on RDO except for $5 for 25 gold bars during the beta. Now I’m sitting on 500 gold bars because I’ve saved 95% of it purely for DLC. If you don’t feel like playing RDO for a stretch of time, I’d recommend logging in every day to do just one daily challenge so you can keep your streak going and eventually get to the point where you earn 1 gold bar for every challenge you do. Another thing to do is to make sure you loot as many NPCs as possible because sometimes they’ll give you treasure maps that’ll lead you to good payouts of both gold and cash. The only purchases you’ll need to make as a new player is a regular outfit and a cold weather outfit. As you earn more money, start with your desired weapons and a new horse (unless the horse you have is to your liking). From there you can start working on pamphlets and cards. I’d also recommend that you stay in defensive mode for the majority of the time while you build your character up before you start taking on players in free roam. I’m rank 215 and I stay in defensive because there’s really no reason to fight other players in free roam. And if griefers try to mess with me, I’ve got dynamite arrows waiting for them. For cash, concentrate on the trader role. You can earn $500 a pop with every local delivery wagon full of goodies. You’ll be surprised at how fast you accumulate cash. As for your general attitude toward the game, you really need to examine exactly why you’re play it to begin with. I play it because I love the Wild West. I love immersing myself in that world and letting the real world melt away. Outside of PVP, this game is not competitive and it’s an easy way to blow off steam after work — unlike more competitive games (ie COD) where stress is always high and rewards are low.
  21. Just a word of caution: My wife watches me play cinematic games. Both of us loved The Last of Us. I’ve played it over a dozen times. But when it came to TLOU2, both of us couldn’t wait for it to be over. And I have no desire to ever play it again.
  22. What do you think of this? Once you hit a certain goal in the collector role, Madam Nazar gives you a map that leads to a treasure “beyond belief”. The yellow circle covers three times the area of a regular treasure, and you’ll need to bring along your posse because other people are looking for it as well... a LOT of people. Once your posse finds the treasure, you’ll have to fight your way out of the area before another (NPC) gang tries to steal it from you.
