Who else besides me is enjoying the hell out of this mode? I never really took a liking to the standard PVP because of the card system, not to mention the headshot auto-aim. Now everyone is on somewhat equal footing without having to reshuffle ability cards like an RPG. To me, it feels like it brings back (for the most part) the PVP from RDR1.

I’m a very mild drinker. Nothing wrong with it in moderation, IMO. My buddies tend to make fun of me because I hate beer and instead reach for a Mike’s Hard Lemonade or a Smirnoff (which they call b!tch beer), or I’ll drink a Jack and Dr. Pepper. My brother recently introduced me to honey whiskey straight, on the rocks. That’s pretty delicious. All in all, I probably have a couple drinks once or twice a month.

I just started this comic series this past Sunday. I’m about halfway through the second compendium and I can’t put it down. If you like the Wild West (which I’m sure you do since you’re here) and dark fantasy, I highly recommend you pick up these books.

Imagine a light gun arcade game based on John Wick. I loved playing the Time Crisis franchise back in the heyday of arcades. I know there are still light gun games around (namely the newest Halo cabinet), but it doesn’t compare to holding a replica handgun as you blast away at nameless enemies. It would be cool if it was based around the final “impossible” task John Wick was given before he got out of the assassin trade. It could be called John Wick Exodus.

In April, Dr. Birx admitted that A.) All deaths, regardless of cause, will be counted as a COVID-19 death if the patient tests positive and B.) she admitted that testing is ~50% inaccurate and errs on the side as counting patients as positive. On May 18th, (in recently released video/audio) Collin County, Texas officials had a meeting with NIH/CDC officials over new COVID-19 reporting guidelines. Within those guidelines, it states that if someone has had contact with someone who was positive for COVID-19, then that person is considered a “probable” case and is also reported in the accumulative case load (if you’re in the hospital, the hospital already considers that you’ve been exposed). Also, if someone has just one of the major symptoms (coughing, headache, fever, etc.) and no test was done, then that person can also be counted as a “probable” case and is still added to the overall case load. In addition, if someone dies of any cause while they’re considered a “probable” case, that death is counted as a COVID death. (I’m a nurse in Texas. We don’t do this for any other ailment)

[Rumor] Big RDR2 News Could Explain Lack of Updates
Enoch replied to Kean_1's topic in Red Dead Online
One could only hope. There’s massive potential in RDO, some of which has been hinted by R* themselves, and it would be a colossal waste and disappointment if they just let the game fall by the wayside. And they would deserve every bit of ire that would come their way if they suddenly dropped support for the game without informing their playerbase. -
I have an external HD as well. That’s not the point. The problem is that they want me to delete 1.23g of space when I already have 230g of space free. That tells me they’re not optimizing their updates, not utilizing compression software, and that they’ve known about this problem for months and haven’t bothered to fix it.
-
I just uninstalled MW. This latest update was the straw that broke the camel’s back for me. It wanted me to delete 1.23g of data so it could install...when I had 230g of free space. Optimization and compression clearly isn’t in Infinity Ward’s/Activision’s wheelhouse. Not to mention the blatant propaganda that’s being pushed on every loading screen now. I went back to Battlefield 4 for the time being.
-
Remember back in December when Infinity Ward/Activision told us that future updates would be smaller? I do. The latest update is another 30gb. Now the game is close to taking up 200gb worth of space. I’m starting to believe the conspiracy theory that Activision wants to completely take over your hard drive so you can only play their game. Done. Going back to BF4.

Level 183, 365 gold, $4,500 cash. I log on a do a few dailies. Since the free roam missions have started working on a consistent basis I have been doing more of those. I’ve been playing RDO since day one (with occasional breaks here and there) and I don’t have every card maxed yet. I’m not one of those players that tries to grind everything at the outset. Just taking it slow so I can maximize the enjoyment of the game.

Public bars, yes. But in my backyard where I have horseshoe stakes set up, nope 😉

This is why I don’t play PC. Sorry for your luck, friend.

I completely understand. I’m a nurse and no matter how hard I try to take care of folks, 90% of people want to complain about something, or threaten my license (my livelihood) and/or manipulate their families into believing something that isn’t true then I get to hear about it. Not to mention all the college educated people I get to interact with that I wouldn’t let touch me with a ten foot pole. Sorry that I stirred that in you. I really appreciate your work here for this game we all love, but wish could be better. Let’s get a beer 😎🤙

No, keep it up. Not your fault. It’s Rockstars. They need to start putting more resources behind this game. Wasn’t GTAO flourishing by this time in its lifecycle?

Meh.

I concur. But it’s derivative PVP at best. I want to see a mode where two teams compete to control a NPC guarded train. Whoever controls the train longest wins. The Robber Barron event barely counts. It’s been much more of a solos chaotic mess. They could also do a cattle drive that has one team vying to deliver them while the other team tries to steal them. Boxing matches, duels, free aim shooting competitions. Heck, they could do hunting competitions that aren’t just a bunch of players circling an area while animals spawn in the middle of the arena. The modes they have now are very arcadey. And the tonics and different ammunition types ruin it for me.

I find myself logging on to do the easiest dailies then going back to the campaign. I’m on my second play-through. Trying to experience as much of the side activities as possible since my first play-through was with my wife. She likes watching me play cinematic games. In RDO I’m level 177, 345 gold and $5,000 cash.

Imagine: You’re in a doctors office and you get done selling your wares. You’re still safe. On your mini map you see a bunch of red dots. You know an ambush is coming. You call for help. The calvary comes in and helps you fight off the outlaws. Or you’re on the trail and a few red dots come into view. You call for help. Granted, R* would need to change the spawn when you bring in a NPC bounty to inside the sheriff’s office. And maybe the Justice System is only activated after a certain level, like 50. It could basically be “end game” content. Anybody below that level would be immune.
-
To help mitigate ambushing solo players, law-abiding citizens can call for help. A small posse of NPC gunmen show up and all “good” players on the map get a notification that another player needs help. Thing is, there’s no reason to do PVP in free roam besides being an asshole (in most cases). So either you find ways to prohibit it entirely, or you develop a system that feeds back into the Wild West setting. And outlaws could be visible on the map just like hostile players are currently displayed.
-
Side note: If some salty outlaw tries to switch servers or log out when they’re roped and brought in, it will do them no good. The law-abiding citizen will still get the credit while not having to deal with a fighting player and the outlaw will still get penalized the next time they log in.

Just spit balling here, but while I was meandering about in the game the other day I was trying to think of ways R* could make the world a bit more dynamic without having to create a bunch of new roles with cinematics and various other pieces of content. First, there would need to be a banking system (I’ll tell you why in a moment). Different banks would offer various deals on storing your cash (gold is safe on your person). For instance you could have a bank that has several branches that you could access your cash at various locations but would have higher account fees. Or you could place your cash in a bank with a single branch that has a low fee. You would have to visit that town where your bank is located to access your money. Every time you got some cash from a mission or other activities, you would place as much as you want into the bank to keep it protected from this next system... This is where the Justice System would come into play. It could be tied to your honor or it could be its own thing. Not sure yet, but basically it would identify you as an outlaw or a law-abiding citizen. Let’s face it, griefing is still a problem. But sometimes it could be honest outlawing, so let’s tie a system to it. If you decide to be a dishonorable player, there should be a greater risk to living that lifestyle. Having charges pressed against you should come with steeper penalties. And once those charges are pressed against you, a bounty should automatically activate. If you keep racking up charges without being caught, that money counts towards your bounty. Another monetary penalty should be added if you start killing NPC’s in town. I hate looking on as bored players come in and shoot up a town with only NPC lawmen coming after them. Let me take a crack at them without having charges pressed against me. Another thing outlaws can do is steal money off of downed players. This is why there needs to be a banking system to protect most of your cash. If the outlaw eventually gets such a bad rep in a given area, it’ll trigger a Dead or Alive status in that territory like it does in SP. This will activate roaming marshals in that territory like it does in SP as well. Once a Posse or single outlaw can evade capture or being killed by the time they get DOA status in all states, they get a reward (not sure what, but there needs to be a reason to outlaw besides being an asshole). Law-abiding citizens are free to take down outlaws any way they see fit. Before a DOA designation is given though, capturing outlaws alive and bringing them to the nearest sheriff’s office reaps the biggest rewards, just like the BH role. Even if an outlaw is picking on another player, randomly or while the third party is trying to do a mission, a law-abiding can step in to save the day. But if said law-abiding steps one foot out of line, they are given outlaw status until they can clear their name (either paying a steep fine or doing good deeds for a set amount of time). And lastly, outlaws can rob banks. If no players are in town, they only get a small sum. But if there are players in town, the outlaws get a chance to take 10-20% out of each players account. Even other outlaws (banks don’t care who they do business with). If a law-abiding citizen is in town, he or she gets a notification that the bank is being robbed and they can go after the thieves (other outlaws who are in town and have money in that bank don’t get these notifications - they just have to follow the noise of gunfire.) What do you think? Could it work?

I’m not saying don’t take precautions, all I’m saying is we should keep this in perspective. The media isn’t helping in that regard at all. People are panic-buying sh*t left and right. Me and my wife just went grocery shopping and there was barely any meat or toiletries or cleaning supplies. It’s stupid, panicky people who can’t think straight that are putting a strain on everyone else. I’m a nurse. Take plenty of Vitamin D, C and Zinc to boost your immune system and wash your hands. You’re more likely to die of the flu or a car accident than the Coronavirus. What this outbreak has taught me is that people are more prone to panic than I originally thought and I need to get on the road to self-sufficiency as soon as possible.
-
Almost 3,000 people die in car accidents per year in the US. Almost 200,000 people die per year in American hospitals due to nosocomial infections and human error. So far this flu season we’ve had around 16,000 deaths. Coronavirus has killed just 66 people in the US. The panic over this “outbreak” is going to do more harm than the virus itself. And the media is loving every second of it.

If you know any, list them below!

...since I quit social media. Who else has done the deed and cut themselves off from the cacophony of what I call anti-social media? I can only imagine how bad the panic is right now with Coronavirus. How many armchair politicians are arguing for their oh-so-wise solutions, how the perpetually offended clutch their pearls when the potential origin is spoken of, and how many trolls are trying to stir up both parties.
